New Cooking Technologies Cooking’s Easier, Food’s Better The latest cooking technology on show at IFA By Gary Smith The latest built-in cookers and ovens in the AEG MaxiKlasse line make baking and cooking both easier and more efficient. More control, more space, and the innovative ThermiC°Air hot-air system for optimal distribution of heat, together guarantee successful results, with a minimum of effort. The MaxiKlasse line also includes the ProCombi multi steam cooker — a combination of an oven and a steam cooker for baking, steaming, grilling and slow cooking. The new ThermiC°Air hot air system ensures that heat is optimally distributed throughout the oven, thanks to the aerodynamic design of the fan cover. Around 1,000 performance tests have shown that the quality of food prepared with the ThermiC°Air hot air system is improved by 12% in comparison to standard hot-air systems. CuliSense Does It For You The AEG CuliSense oven automatically sets the right heating mode, temperature and cooking time, and recognises when a dish is ready. Users decide what is to be served and CuliSense does the rest. No more checking and worrying whether the casserole, duck, pike, perch, or strudel, will be a success. The new AEG professional thus takes the idea of a programmable oven to a completely new level. The automatic process starts up once the category and the type of food have been entered by touch control. Depending on what the user wants, the smart oven offers a full range of menus, from cake to roast beef, chicken and fish, and vegetable gratin and pizza. This is all made possible by a sensor installed inside the appliance that calculates the weight and the type of food. Hall 4.1 Stand 101 No More Burnt Food The Gorenje SimpleOff program timer allows users to set the cooking time of their gas hobs. When the time expires, the gas burner is automatically switched off allowing safe, simple, neat, and above all controlled cooking or reheating. The ergonomically designed knob with a built-in electronic program timer allows a cooking time of up to 99 minutes. When the set time expires, the automatic switch-off is announced by an acoustic signal. Gas hobs with the SimpleOff program timer are available in select models of various widths. Brighten UpYour lifeGorenje’s latest range of appliances is focusing on colour details and soft curves to appeal to a new generation of consumers. The Slovenian white-goods company has named the line Weblicity to speak to internet-savvy buyers who are at an age at which they’re furnishing their first homes. The range, which comprises hobs, ovens, washing machines, freestanding refrigerators and decorative panels for dishwashers, features special fittings to which users affix magnetic coloured panels. By choosing matching — or contrasting — colours, they can bring a personal touch to their kitchen appliances and participate in styling and designing their home. The base colour of the appliances is white and the panels are available in six shades: white, black, grey, green, orange and pink. Hall 1.1 Stand 201 Colours in a different style from Gorenje Intuitive Cooking the Siemens Way Siemens is presenting new ovens at IFA 2011 with the emphasis on operating convenience. The new builtin ovens feature various functions that make baking and roasting more intuitive and convenient. The new TFT colour display makes the Siemens light Control operating system even clearer. SoftClose doors and telescopic rails with integrated stop function make the handling tangibly more pleasant. These special new built-in ovens are our answer to this demand.” That begins with the TFT display — a further refinement of the previous LCD displays. Status indications, operating steps and the clock are in colour, high-resolution and more easily readable from all angles.” Hall 1.1 Stand 101 “All over the world, easy operation is one of the most important decision criteria when buying an oven.” www.ifa-international.org IFA International • Saturday 3 rd & Sunday 4 th September 2011 37
