Trade News Reseller Park reaps benefits of mobile boom Hall 9 expo reflects new technology-fueled market and return of consumer confidence The focus this year is on all forms of telecommunication, including navigation systems and mobile phones. At the Park you will find leading distributors, manufacturers and accessories suppliers of the latest products available. Nintemann believes that the mobile phone industry is set to lead the market – he says there are three factors that come together to promote growth at IFA 2010: 1. New technology — in all areas of the consumer epectronics industry — and particularly in mobile. With Apple leading the way in technological innovation, now everybody wants to take advantage of the popularity of multitasking accessory products, from manufacturers and distributors to retailers and suppliers. This trend is reflected at Hall 9, giving buyers the opportunity to meet the industry’s key suppliers. 2. After two years of financial crisis the drop in consumption is finally at an end. Market research shows that in Germany there is increased growth and consumers are going back to the shops again. 3. Good timing. Global Fairs TT has organised the Reseller Park at IFA for many years now. The company’s Managing Director Jan Nintemann has had considerable success with his trade-only platform, which now covers 1,600 square metres of floor space, accommodating over forty exhibitors and exclusive brands. The Reseller Park has its own entrance to the trade fair grounds and is now enjoying its third successful event at Hall 9. in 1 and 2. Nintemann is especially pleased that Sony Ericsson has chosen the Reseller Park Platform along with other big names at Hall 9 — Brightpoint, MobileWorld Distribution (Phonehouse), ENO Telecom, Avenir Telecom, Komsa, Sagemcom, to name just a few. “All the important niche products are at the Reseller Park. It’s well worth a visit,” Nintemann said. There is no doubt that the PC is here to stay as proven by the presence of Antec and Western Digital at the Reseller Park, as well as the big name distributors Bandrige, Purelink and IT2U. “All of these exhibitors have profi ted from the international contacts they have made at the Reseller Park. Which company or companies have given you the warmest reception so far? As it’s only the first day of the event I haven’t seen it all yet. The greatest expectations are still on the TV market of course but the main stream is also related to home networking, linking all the different devices and expending the use of an actual media player. People at home want to link everything together. We are also following closely the evolution of the smart phone world and the iPad (Hama offers a wide range of i accessories). What new innovation has impressed you the most at the show? Wi-fi and home networking technologies and 3D TVs How important is IFA for you?
