It is presenting the exciting world of the largest of all participatory media, Web 2.0. This extensive trail is both an entertaining introduction for anyone who is not already aware that Web 2.0 will make the internet more colourful and easier to use, as well as being a fascinating and trendsetting platform for professionals and the leading players in this field. This is the meeting place for beginners and the people who make things happen, start-ups and developers, publishers and bloggers, podcasters and other Web 2.0 users. The presentation takes the form of a “Blog” house with a number of rooms and places to relax, and it provides an invitation to a stimulating encounter with the new web world. The Web 2.0 instructional trail will provide both information and entertainment for newcomers and professionals alike. This is where visitors can obtain an introduction to the subject of Web 2.0 and all the possibilities that it offers. At the same time this platform offers insights into future possibilities in these web worlds. The numerous surf stations are also an ideal way of adopting a new approach to the internet. Visitors can find advice about some interesting websites which utilise the entire range of Web 2.0, on the postcards displayed here. The Aiptek “Browser of Fame” Visitors to the IFA can put themselves in the picture here. Anyone putting themselves on “Flickr” or “YouTube” can find themselves on the Aiptek “Browser of Fame”. And if they do not dare to do this they can obtain their inspiration from an Aiptek reporter in the broadcast of “Interessanter geht’s nicht” (It doesn’t get more interesting than this). He will be interacting with visitors to present them live in unusual situations. The “Blog Machine – Every Blog you gave!” will enable visitors to present their own personal “Blog confessions” as part of the community on the large video screen in Hall 26. Anyone can leave their message here, whether it is a marriage proposal, a declaration of love or simply greetings from the IFA. At “Skype de Paris”, the global artists’ village, it will be possible, via Skype, to have a portrait drawn by an artist who is actually in Montmartre in Paris. Video projections enable the subject to observe the creative process, and the result is then received by e- mail, printed on an A3 paper. “The BlogHouse Academy” will also feature forums, interviews and discussions. At the BenQ Live Gaming FIFA 2007 Contest visitors will be challenged by a professional player from “Mousesports” and, given enough luck and skill, can win a BenQ video beamer. Hall 26b Alcatel-Lucent broadcasts IFA International TV using both DVB-H and DVB-SH During IFA 2007, Alcatel-Lucent is broadcasting IFA International TV, a dedicated mobile TV channel for the show produced by the journalists of IFA INTERNATIONAL. The programme will feature interviews of consumer electronics business leaders attending IFA, which runs from August 31 st through September 5 th in Berlin. For the first time at IFA, this demonstration will encompass the DVB-H and DVB-SH technologies in parallel, two international standards for broadcast mobile TV. Cleverdis, a leading corporate publisher and the editor of the IFA International magazine, will produce the content for IFA International TV. IFA visitors will be able to view IFA International TV as well as other broadcast mobile TV channels during “walking demonstrations” using DVB-H and DVB-SH in Hall 26. Presentations on the respective advantages of the DVB-H and DVB-SH technologies will be held at the Alcatel-Lucent booth at the Technology & Science Forum. With its unique combination of a specialist exhibition and a forum for discussion about innovative media technology, the IFA’s Technology & Science Forum is the natural place to present Alcatel-Lucent’s mobile TV capabilities. “At Alcatel-Lucent, we believe that the technology is now available to enable the successful ramp up of attractive mobile TV services for the mass market,” said Olivier Coste, Chairman of Alcatel-Lucent’s mobile broadcast activities. “We consider our broadcasting of IFA International TV based on our advanced DVB-H and DVB-SH solutions as a great opportunity to demonstrate how high-quality programs can benefit from a good mix of broadcast mobile TV technologies to reach the largest possible audience in mobility situations.” Hall 26b Hall 5.3 Stand 11 IFA International • Saturday, 1 st September 2007 5
