Anna Krauss - Class of

Anna Krauss - Class of 2013 After my graduation I was accepted into the Hiram G. Andrews Center, a Pennsylvania trade school for those with cognitive or physical disabilities. I started in the Office Technology Program and eventually transferred into the Cognitive Skills Enhancement Program, where I have benefited both academically and emotionally. During my free time at Hiram G. Andrews I participate in a variety of volunteer groups, clubs, and I sit on the committee for our center’s formal dances. I was also given a major leadership opportunity to spearhead an idea I had for a “Day of Kindness,” which was a great success. Now the school will celebrate a “Day of Kindness” every year, and I feel like I have made a huge impact on the school. I have improved so much from my time at Pathway and overall feel like I received an opportunity of a lifetime. My self-esteem, confidence, and self-awareness have all improved, and I can now live the life of my dreams. Leah Kitner - Class of 2010 Since graduation I’ve become very independent! I have my own apartment. I completed cosmetology school, graduating in 2011. I received my cosmetology license and work at SuperCuts; I also bartend at night. Soon after I received my cosmetology license, someone close to me passed away. Their death has inspired me to do something bigger and make a difference in someone else’s life, similar to what the staff at Pathway did for me. This fall I start a new journey: I’m attending school to become an X-ray or dialysis technician. A few of my other achievements were losing 120 pounds and buying my dream car, on my own with no help! I would never have been able to do any of these things if I had not learned the proper skills that Pathway taught me. I’m so thankful for the school and how they helped me achieve all my goals. I never would have been able to do it without Pathway! alumnispotlight
