NEW CAPTAIN’S CHOICE

NEW CAPTAIN’S CHOICE RED WINE GIUSEPPE CAMPAGNOLA AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA CLASSICO Full-bodied, complex, and velvety smooth. Rich and noble on the palate with notes of ripe dark berries and a long aftertaste. ORIGIN: Italy REGION: Veneto GRAPE: 75% Corvinone Veronese, 25% Rondinella STORY The art of winemaking of the Campagnola family has reached its fifth generation: a passion that has been handed down from father to son, since 1907. The Giuseppe Campagnola winery has its heart in Marano di Valpolicella valley, where it produces and vinifies the grapes, both from their own land and from historical suppliers, chosen in the 1950s by grandfather Luigi. Today, the Campagnola winery takes care of vineyards, selects grapes, and collaborates actively with more than 50 wine-growers in the most vocational vineyards around the valley. WINE MAKING The bunches are hand-picked and rigorously selected at the end of September. Traditional drying of the grapes lasts for about 100 days, during which the grapes lose around 40% of their weight. From these raisin-like grapes a rich and super concentrated juice is pressed. 60% of the wine is refined for 24 months in big oak barrels, and 40% of the wine is refined for 18 months in new French barrels, followed by six months in the bottle. FOOD PAIRING Deep bright, ruby red wine has a powerful bouquet and intense aromas of cherry, ripe plum, toasted almond, chocolate, and vanilla. Traditionally enjoyed with game, roasted, and grilled meats, full-flavoured dishes, and well-matured cheeses. Recommended serving temperature: 17–18 °C. Alcohol may be harmful to your health! 42
