FIONA McCARTHY “The reports that bricks-andmortar retail is dead have been greatly exaggerated,” says the London-based writer of the many new immersive design spaces popping up all over London, which she profiles in Making a Scene (p51). “Many interior designers are eschewing the gallery concept for something that feels more eclectic, unexpected and, most importantly, inviting. For this issue’s Star Power (p34), she looks at a handful of Michelin-star chefs who are expanding their footprints in remarkable ways.
