By LAURIE KAHLE PHOTOS © VACHERON CONSTANTIN E stablished in 2006, Les Cabinotiers rekindles the spirit of early-20th-century high horology, when super-collectors commissioned the most complicated watches the world had ever seen. Today’s watchmaking visionaries go beyond any client’s imagination, however, to craft their own concepts and push established boundaries. This technical audacity is complemented by lavish decorations executed by in-house métiers d’art virtuosos in the crafts of engraving, enamel painting, wood marquetry and jewelling. Its new series takes inspiration from the animal kingdom with exquisitely decorated cases and dials that depict various wildlife.
