The Berkeley ( theberkeley.co.uk) has installed on its terrace five brightly painted beach huts of the type found at old-fashioned English seaside resorts where parties of up to six can drink and dine in comparative seclusion from a menu of oysters, fish and chips, lobster rolls and other fishy delicacies. There’s even a “Seaside Benedict” on its breakfast menu, comprising poached eggs, Dorset crab, spring-onion salad and toasted sourdough. The Goring ( thegoring. com), meanwhile, will be recreating a little piece of Cornwall in its spacious Belgravia garden, a plot of greenery larger than the Centre Court at Wimbledon.
