2 ROME FRESH PERSPECTIVES The Eternal City may be eternally in flux, but this year it’s hitting all the right notes. New hotels are springing up everywhere. Last year saw the arrival of a trio of design-forward masterstrokes, The Rome Edition, the Bulgari Hotel Roma and the Six Senses Rome, alongside a handful of other notables like the family-owned Palazzo Ripetta. This year welcomes the architecturally unique ROMEO, the first hotel designed by Zaha Hadid Architects (the mind-bending walls have to be seen to be believed), as well as the more boho-chic Casa Monti and the food-forward Nobu Hotel – with others like Rosewood and Four Seasons coming in future years. With so many tempting options for bedding down, the next hurdle is to figure out where to eat. PHOTO GLORIA CRETU / UNSPLASH 16
