PCB + ASSEMBLY PRODUCT

PCB + ASSEMBLY PRODUCT UPDATES UV cure conformal coatings at thicknesses below 150 microns, and can be cured with either 365 nm LED lamps or ‘D’ bulb microwave technology. The UVCL-X has also been developed, which shares the benefits of the plus version with resistance to thermal shock, immediate board handling with a guaranteed chemical cure in 6 hours due to the secondary chemical Electrolube launched seven new UV cure conformal coating products. These UV cure coatings offer a high level of protection for electronic circuitry with a fast processing time. The range features UVCL, a single component, medium-low viscosity dual cure coating with secondary moisture cure, for complete cure in shadow areas. Available in 5L packaging, UVCL is VOC-free, non-flammable and demonstrates excellent electrical properties. The coating provides a wide operating temperature range and is ready to use for selective spray application. UVCL-P, the plus version, is a transparent, flexible coating which is resistant to thermal shock. Benefits include an improved coverage and protection, along with a guaranteed chemical cure in 6 hours thanks to its secondary cure mechanism. Selectively applied at 50–150 microns thickness, it has a higher level of condensation protection than UVCL when sprayed at the same thickness. It also has a maximum operating temperature of 150 °C, meets the requirements of UL94V-0 cure mechanism and exceptional coverage and protection. Reflecting its environmental credentials as well as increasing the ease of inspection, UVCL-X is a green-opaque coating that can be applied at up to 300 microns and has a maximum operating temperature of 150 °C. It is a highly flexible coating that demonstrates thermal conductivity 0.7 Wm-1K-1 for improved heat dissipation. The coating is also UL746 qualified and meets the requirements of UL94V-0 at thicknesses below 300 microns. Other UV cure coating products include, UVCL-FC, a film coating product that enables even thinner coatings and faster curing line Electrolube launched seven UV cure conformal coating products. speeds. It is a low viscosity, fast-curing UV formulation for rapid processing. UV cure coating specifically for LED applications. The UVCL-LED coating is also a low viscosity coating that enables rapid cure with low energy 365 nm LED lamps. UVCL-HV is a high viscosity UV curable material, designed to provide better coverage of component leads and exposed metal surfaces during dispensing applications and the UVCL-Gel is a no-flow gel version, designed for sealing connectors and non-coated areas. High-performance cleaning for electronics assembly materials Kyzen, a provider of innovative environmentally friendly cleaning chemistries, continually researches and develops the next generation of solutions. Recently, the company announced that the newest addition to its Aquanox line. When asked how to get consistent high-performance cleaning for all widely used electronics assembly materials, Vice President Tom Forsythe said: “You rely on the Aquanox family of solutions because each and every product in the line is the result of an arduous, continual improvement engineering protocol that stays ahead of rapidly evolving electronics manufacturing technologies– and is thoroughly tested on the manufacturing floor prior to release.” The company’s latest Aquanox release is the result of thousands of hours of laboratory tests and “live” beta site testing scientifically validating the outstanding rinsability, extended tank life and consistently reliable, long-term performance advantages. This stable chemistry is excellent on a wide variety of components, coating, labels and equipment. BTU International, Inc., a supplier of advanced thermal processing equipment for the electronics manufacturing and alternative energy markets, has recently introduced the Aqua Scrub flux management technology installed on the Pyramex 150N. This solder reflow flux management system uses an aqueous-based scrubber that works well with most pastes and fluxes. Aqua Scrub technology is the company’s next generation solder reflow flux management system. The patent-pending design uses an aqueous-based scrubber technology compatible with most known paste and flux types. The flux and solution are automatically contained and packaged for disposal. “We’ve been working for a long time towards a total solution for flux management. One that realizes the goals of flux independence, and a has a truly clean, hands-off maintenance approach,” said Peter Tallian, General Manager. “With Aqua Scrub, we can say we’ve achieved these goals, which will ultimately result in a competitive advantage for our customers.” This technology has a very attractive cost of ownership and is designed to decrease operational cost by 4X over traditional condensation systems. Reduction in cost can be attributed to reduced downtime, labor and disposal costs. It is purpose-built as a stand-alone system that can be easily retrofitted on Pyramax reflow ovens already in the field as well as new ones. This self-contained unit mounts on the back side of the oven to minimize the impact on oven operation and factory floor space. SMTconnect, Booth 4-551 www.btu.com
