From new award-winning machines to AI-powered software tools, we are driven to improve the lives of our customers.” Ivan Aduna earned his Mechatronics Engineering de- gree at the Universidad Panamericana in Guadalajara where he focused on embedded systems, algorithms, and low-power solutions. From there, Ivan applied his software expertise at Intel where he designed and executed test plans and use cases to refine network controllers on both Windows and Linux environments. His start with the Internet of Things began at Dextra Technologies where he developed embedded software systems for the automotive segment and telemetrybased tracking solutions. Today, Ivan leads the global smart factory integration efforts for Koh Young. “When I combine my knowledge with my experience from positions as a manufacturer and a supplier it helps me understand, adopt, and implement MES solutions that open the gates of a smart factory to everyone,” Aduna said. “I am excited to expand my role to help our customers around the world improve their manufacturing environment.” www.kohyoungamerica.com Semiconductors Pfeiffer Vacuum opens Silicon Valley Innovation Center Source: Pfeiffer Vaccuum Pfeiffer Vacuum opens new Silicon Valley Innovation Center in San José, California Pfeiffer Vacuum has opened a new Silicon Valley Innovation Center (SVIC) in San José, California. According to the company, the state-ofthe-art facility, spanning 10,000 sq. ft. is located at 2381 Bering Drive, San José, California and will create more than 20 new high-tech jobs. The SVIC serves North American customers in all technological questions around high-vacuum technology, focusing on semiconductor applications and the inte- grated products. Customers will be able to test and evaluate new vacuum solutions designed for their applications at early development stages. Onsite specialists and researchers will provide direct know-how support for all Pfeiffer Vacuum products and establish a seamless link to the global Pfeiffer Vacuum R&D organization. “Opening the Silicon Valley Innovation Center demonstrates our commitment to drive innovation for our customers in the semiconductor market, and to support the development of future technologies”, said Dr. Britta Giesen, CEO of Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology AG. Vacuum technology is used in the semiconductor industry for the production of microprocessors, storage media, high definition displays and more. Customers primarily use a large number of medium and large backing pumps, but also turbopumps and measurement instruments.
