AVIXA Promotes Dan Goldstein to Chief Marketing Officer In this role, Goldstein will lead the strategy for AVIXA‘s marketing, communications, market intelligence, content creation and delivery, strategic alliances, and new product innovation. Goldstein has over two decades of AV industry experience as a professional writer, editor, public relations officer, and marketing leader. Prior to joining AVIXA, he served as a senior marketing and communications professional at the Integrated Systems Europe trade show (ISE) for seven years. Goldstein joined AVIXA in 2015 as Senior VP of Marketing and Communications. He led the rebranding initiative from InfoComm International to the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association - AVIXA - and has built an all-new market intelligence team focused on providing the AV community with industry analytics and insights that were previously unobtainable from any source. In addition, he has concentrated on raising awareness of the business value of AV to specific end-user markets, such as education, retail, hospitality, sports venues, and transportation, by growing industry outreach and strategic partnerships. „Dan has been a major driver in AVIXA‘s evolution in recent years - leading our brand transformation, market intelligence, and much more,“ said David Labuskes, CTS, CAE, RCDD, Chief Executive Officer of AVIXA. „Since joining the association four years ago, he has made a huge impact, and we‘re excited for him to take on a bigger leadership role. He has a deep understanding of the history of the pro-AV industry, while also knowing that it is ever-changing. Dan not only sees that need but has been a champion for ensuring that AVIXA stays at the forefront of that change.“ Trafalgar Releasing brings “Life of Brian” back to cinemas Trafalgar Releasing, award-winning global event distributor, are set to bring back the legendary Monty Python’s Life of Brian to selected cinemas around the world (excl. French-speaking territories) this Easter, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its release. Tickets are now on sale for this cinema event, taking place on April 18, 2019. Those attending screenings will receive an exclusive 40th anniversary commemorative pack, including a special edition poster, song lyrics, stickers and more. Highly controversial upon its original release and banned in several countries, the film is now frequently ranked as the greatest comedy feature of all time around the world. “The Life Of Brian may have been set 2000 years ago, but it’s a mirror of what’s going on today,” the Pythons have said on the upcoming anniversary celebrations. “Except that it’s funny. It’s one of the most prescient films for today’s society.” Monty Python delivers a scathing, anarchic satire of both religion and Hollywood‘s depiction of all things biblical with their 1979 feature film Life of Brian. Set in 33 A.D. Judea, where exasperated Romans are trying to impose some order, it is a time of chaos and change with no shortage of messiahs and followers willing to believe in them. At its centre is Brian Cohen, a reluctant would-be messiah who rises to prominence as a result of a series of absurd circumstances providing ample opportunity for the entire Monty Python ensemble (Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin) to shine in multiple roles as they question everyone and everything from ex-lepers, Pontius Pilate and the art of haggling, to revolutionaries, crazy prophets, religious fanaticism, Roman centurions and crucifixion. This is the third time Trafalgar Releasing will have worked with the Monty Python team following the theatrical simulcast of their 2014 “Monty Python Live (mostly) – One Down Five to Go reunion show”, which saw a phenomenal worldwide success of over 330k admissions. Trafalgar Releasing also announced last year that they had taken global (ex. French-speaking territories) rights to the Python’s first full feature film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Marc Allenby, CEO of Trafalgar Releasing: „It‘s a great privilege to be working with the Monty Python team again and to bring the 40th anniversary celebrations of this seminal comedy classic to cinemas around the world. The film continues to feel fresh, relevant and hilarious after four decades.“ Tickets are now on sale with exclusive 40th anniversary commemorative pack for screenings around the world on April 18.
