OCTOBER ART EVENTS Works by influential WNC women artists BY STAFF REPORTS • WNC 3rd Annual Beaverdam Studio Tour Saturday, October 26, 10 - 5 pm Sunday, October 27, Noon - 5 pm Asheville. October 26 & 27, 2019: A self-guided driving tour of artists’ studios in North Asheville. 30+ artists living and working in beautiful Beaverdam Valley, showcasing ceramics, painting, jewelry, sculpture, glass, paper, and textile art. Meet the Artists and purchase their artwork. All studios are off Beaverdam Road, reached from Merrimon Avenue. Tour maps are available online and the brochure. “Ikebana Demonstration & Workshop” Manipulation of Leaves by Suzanne Dillingham of the Ichiyo School At the Folk Art Center, 382 Blue Ridge Parkway, AVL October 22, 10 am. Demonstration: Free and open to the public. Workshop: RSVP with payment by October 18 to Limit of 20 participants. Bring a container and needlepoint holder (kenzan), flowers if you want. Plant material will be provided. Bring a bag lunch if taking the workshop.
