A current parent perspective on the UK's top schools

INSIDE SCOOP ACS Cobham International School Heywood House, Portsmouth Rd, Surrey, KT11 1BL Admissions: 01932 867251 • SE Day/Flexi/Weekly/Full 2-18 The Inside Scoop from a current parent… We were looking for an international orientated IB school which would prepare our children for a future life as truly global citizens in a fast-evolving environment. When visiting the Open Day, we were all blown away by the friendly and knowledgeable staff as well as the outstanding facilities. It was very important for us to find an environment that inspires our kids and one that really brings out the best in each child. It is non-selective but the school constantly manages to equip children which could have slipped through the net in another system with a high calibre education. There are no square pegs and round holes at ACS. It is an embracing community where everyone has the opportunity to shine in his/her very own way. Open days: 25th and 26th September 2019. As parents, we love: The staff are truly caring and supportive. Fellow students understand and warmly welcome different cultures. IB course choices and the school facilities are second to none. Our children love: The teachers. The group spirit/sense of belonging. The modern and global approach to education. HEADS UP “ACS Cobham International School is a place where diversity, innovation, academic excellence, and global awareness come together to deliver an exceptional school experience. We always look forward to welcoming new families into our vibrant community.” Simon Leyshon, Headmaster 4 Read the full review on ★ 2019

INSIDE SCOOP Aldro Preparatory School Lombard Street, Shackleford, Surrey,GU8 6AS Admissions: 01483 813535 • Day/Flexi/Full 7-13 The Inside Scoop from a current parent… We chose Aldro because quite honestly there is no other school like it! We have twin boys who wear their hearts on their sleeves and we quickly realised they were going to be allowed to be themselves at Aldro. Tom and Harry are sport mad and so the standard of sport at Aldro was also a key factor. Teachers are very quick to notice when children are not feeling confident and are able to reassure them and get them back on track. Aldro parents are a really friendly bunch and I am making lifelong friends. There are some really popular parent events like the Quiz Night and Summer Party as well as family events. If you are looking for a school tailored for boys where boys are allowed to be boys then look no further! SE As parents, we love: The beautiful surroundings and space that the boys have to develop. The homely feel within school. The approachable nature of both academic and pastoral care staff. Our children love: The delicious food! In particular the sticky toffee pudding. The Sports – Rugby, Football and Cricket. Chapel Choir. HEADS UP “To strive for academic excellence, seek to develop a love of learning for boys within a broad and contemporary curriculum that offers a wide range of opportunities for extra-curricular activities. Develop, coach, mentor and train a committed and highly motivated staff team.” Chris Carlier, Headmaster Open days: 11th May 2019, 19th June 2019. 2019 ★ Read the full review on 5
