Lowry Woods Located on the Denton campus, our multi-complex apartment style housing features private rooms, baths and options for families. Dancing through Barriers Meet Dr. Iquail Shaheed. Shaheed shattered barriers when he became the first Black male to earn a PhD in dance at Texas Woman’s. From founder and director of his own dance company to performing on Broadway, Shaheed had one dream left to follow earning his PhD. University dance programs were started by women.
