MAPLE SYRUP Maple syrup is made from the sap of maple trees in Canada and USA, collected in late winter. It was used by the First Nations who introduced it to the French explorer Jacques Cartier and other European settlers. It is used to flavor many foods but I like it poured on to delicious pancakes. 26
