This year sees the 80th anniversary of the end of World War Two in Europe and in Japan. But first we will commemorate 80 years since the liberation of the concentration camp Auschwitz on Holocaust Memorial Day, 27 January. To mark this event, BBC2 is showing The Last Musician of Auschwitz (Monday, 9pm), a documentary that tells the story of cellist Anita Lasker-Wallfisch, who was a musician in the Auschwitz Women’s Orchestra which played music in that terrible death camp.
