Youngest ever Vendée finisher

French solo skipper Violette Dorange has become the youngest ever competitor to complete the Vendée Globe around the world race, when she finished in 25th place out of 40 starters on 9 February aged just 23. Dorange’s Devenir was Jean Le Cam’s former daggerboard design IMOCA (also ex-Foncia, winner in 2008, which has been around the world five times).
