Triple amputee’s solo Pacific bid

Craig Wood, a British army veteran who lost both legs and his left arm while serving in Afghanistan, is aiming to become the first triple amputee to sail solo across the Pacific. Wood learned to sail as a child and became a keen windsurfer in his teens. After school he joined the British Army as a rifleman, but was severely injured by a roadside bomb in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, aged 18 in 2009.
