When I was writing this issue’s Cover Feature I kept referring to Windows 10 in the past tense. It was a telling mistake. The curtain is falling on my favourite ever operating system, with Microsoft ending support on 14 October. There are several ways you can keep using Windows 10 safely after October, as we’ll explain soon. But to make the most of modern computing, you now need to use Windows 11.
