NatWest’s ‘sleek new design’

Somebody impersonating NatWest sent me an email to say it’s “changing the way we look”. It said some of its emails would soon “showcase a sleek new design”. So what, I thought to myself. Why would NatWest email its customers to communicate this uninteresting piece of news? And why would a mere redesign of emails mean I’d need to click a ‘Get Started’ button to “re-authenticate” my account? It did contain the correct logo, the bank’s corporate colour (purple) and its stunningly nonsensical slogan...
