Some riders say the new steps are an improvement but others say they are concerned about their horses’ safety

RIDERS are baffled by a £32,000 scheme to “improve” a bridleway – as they now have to negotiate two sets of concrete steps with their horses. Work has been carried out on a stream ford on the Wixoldbury bridleway in Gloucestershire after riders had flagged issues at the crossing, which was prone to flooding and getting very boggy in winter.
