MAGIC MEMORIES

Thank you very much for the feature on The Magic Roundabout [1 July issue]. It was required viewing by us students in my hall of residence, Owens Park, Manchester, who crowded the television rooms to watch it. Many years later, while working as a television extra, I discovered the sound guys called their furry microphone windshield covers ‘Dougals’. So the name of that world-weary dog has long outlived the programme! The attached photo shows how I looked as a student in the 1960s. Maggie Cobbett...
