the books instead of the other way around. The concept is taken further
by the fact that the titles of the books indicate that the shelf is being supported
not by mere books but by every type of shelf support that ever

1997-1998, het ontwerp is eigenlijk een woordgrap: ‘This table takes
its form and concept from the symbiotic relationship between
design and books on design. […] The books are all copies of the
international Design Yearbook built up year by year... each succesive
edition renders the previous one redundant in an inaccessible
archive.’ (Naylor & Ball 2005: p.31).
