Zorginnovatie in de regio<br />
Het UMCG werkt ook mee aan de inhoudelijke verbetering<br />
van de zorg buiten het ziekenhuis en participeert in<br />
tal van innovatieve zorgprojecten. Op die manier vindt<br />
de meest actuele kennis van het universitair medisch<br />
centrum direct zijn weg naar ‘het veld’ en kan de kwaliteit<br />
van zorg over de hele breedte verbeteren. Zo heeft<br />
het UMCG in de regio Noord- en Oost-Nederland een<br />
leidende rol in het verbeteren van donorwerving en donorzorg.<br />
Een ander voorbeeld: binnen het ZorgInnovatie-<br />
Platform zoekt het UMCG met andere samenwerkingspartners<br />
naar toepassingsmogelijkheden van domotica<br />
in de zorg. Domotica zijn slimme ict-toepassingen in huis<br />
die het ouderen en chronisch zieken mogelijk maken om<br />
verantwoord en veilig zelfstandig te wonen.<br />
Care innovation in the region<br />
The UMCG also collaborates in the substantive improvement<br />
of healthcare outside the hospital and participates<br />
in many innovative healthcare projects. This way the<br />
latest knowledge of the <strong>University</strong> <strong>Medical</strong> Center finds<br />
its way directly to ‘the field’, which allows the quality of<br />
care to improve across the entire spectrum. For instance,<br />
in the northern and eastern regions of the Netherlands<br />
the UMCG plays a leading role in improving donor recruitment<br />
and donor care. Another example: within the<br />
ZorgInnovatiePlatform (Care Innovation Platform) the<br />
UMCG, in conjunction with other partners, is investigating<br />
the application options of home automation in the<br />
provision of healthcare. This type of automation uses<br />
smart ICT applications in the home, making it possible<br />
for the elderly and for chronically ill patients to live independently<br />
in safety.<br />
