O Capítulo 8 relata as conclusões obtidas com
o trabalho, discute barreiras existentes à cogeração
de eletricidade a partir de biomassa e propõe políticas
que a incentivem, além de discutir as limitações
do trabalho, ressaltando a possibilidade de
estudos posteriores aprofundarem a análise aqui
iniciada.
dy of the Indústria Klabin de Papel e Celulose, in Telemaco
Borba, Parana, outlines the current situation
of the plant and the proposal of using gasification
technology.
In Chapter 7, for one of the existing studies
presented in the thesis and for the Indústria Klabin
de Papel e Celulose case study, the costs of generating
electricity and process steam are calculated, in
addition to the costs of surplus electricity generated,
based on thermal/economic energy analysis. This is
the most appropriate methodology to be used for a
process with more than one product, as in the case
of cogeneration, since it allows accurate separation
of the costs for each one of them. The originality
of this thesis is noted as existing works up to now
and for the case studies covered here, the costs of
electricity generation and process steam as well as
the costs of surplus electricity generated were not
separated out and monetized. When this analysis
is not made, i.e. not using cost partition methods,
it turns out that the generation cost of all products
focuses on only one of them, electricity.
Chapter 8 provides the conclusions obtained,
discusses existing barriers to cogeneration of electricity
from biomass, and proposes policies that encourage
this, as well as discussing the limitations of
the work, emphasizing the possibility of subsequent
studies for further analysis of the work presented
here.
