A viagem começa em 22 de janeiro, partindo de São Paulo
em direção a Toronto – Canadá. Mas já teremos um
bônus nesse processo. Como já antecipamos, durante
as 12 edições da Empreenda Revista em 2020 vamos
fazer a cobertura dessa missão e, em janeiro, começaremos
mostrando um pouco sobre o ecossistema de
inovação brasileiro.
The trip begins on January 22, departing from Sao Paulo
to Toronto - Canada. But we will have a bonus in this process.
As we have mentioned before, during the 12 editions of
Empreenda Magazine in 2020 we will cover this mission
and, in January, we will start by showing a little about the
Brazilian innovation ecosystem.

NORTH AMERICA
Dos 30 principais ecossistemas de inovação do mundo
na lista do Startup Genome (SG), 14 ficam na América
do Norte, sendo 12 deles nos EUA. Continua sendo uma
das principais referências globais.
O primeiro destino será Toronto – Canadá (#13 no Startup
Genome), cidade que vem crescendo muito em representatividade,
com startups e agentes econômicos
cada vez mais fortes.
Seguimos em direção aos EUA começando por Boston
(#5 no Startup Genome), ecossistema que tem à sua
disposição uma das maiores concentrações de talentos
do mundo, vindos de instituições icônicas como o MIT
e Harvard. Mais de 50 aceleradoras e incubadoras operam
em Boston e as maiores vocações são as áreas de
manufatura avançada e robótica.
A próxima parada é Nova Iorque (#2 no SG). A cidade
conta com mais de 9.000 startups, diversos unicórnios
(empresas com valor de mercado de mais de 1 bilhão de
dólares) e conta com mais de 100 aceleradoras. É uma
cidade repleta de diversidade: 23% das startups são fundadas
por mulheres.

Startup Genome (SG) list, 14 of them are in North America,
and 12 of them are in the US. It is still one of the leading
global references.
The first destination will be Toronto - Canada (#13 in Startup
Genome), a city that has become more and more representative.
Then, we are going towards the USA, starting with Boston
(#5 in Startup Genome), an ecosystem that has at its hands
one of the largest concentrations of talents in the world, coming
from iconic institutions like MIT and Harvard. More
than 50 accelerators and incubators operate in Boston,
most of them in areas of advanced manufacturing and robotics.
The next stop will be New York (#2 at SG). The city has over
9,000 startups, several unicorns (companies with a market
value over $ 1 billion) and over 100 accelerators. It’s a city
full of diversity: 23% of startups are founded by women.
