Proteção para a pele
O Grafderm é o curativo úmido para
a pele desenvolvido por um grupo de
pesquisados da UFC em parceria com a
startup BIOMTEC. Sua atuação é direta no
controle das condições fisiológicas para a
restauração do tecido epitelial. A composição
é baseada em biocelulose e grafeno
modificado, que tem capacidades antimicrobianas
e não citotóxicas.
Um dos principais destaques do Grafderm,
por sua composição, é a possibilidade
de proteção ao tecido gerada por sua
flexibilidade. Além disso, ele possui grande
poder de remoção do exsudato (fluido
proveniente dos ferimentos), regulação
de temperatura e umidade sobre a área
inflamada.
Antonio Gomes, coordenador da
Central Analítica, laboratório associado ao
SisNano2.0 (Sistema Nacional de Laboratórios
em Nanotecnologias), detalha as principais
características do Grafderm e suas
vantagens no uso clínico. “A incorporação
do óxido de grafeno ancorado com nanopartículas
de prata confere [ao curativo]
uma alta hidrofilicidade, melhorando suas
características mecânicas, com o benefício
antimicrobiano das nanopartículas de
prata, que diminuem a carga microbiana
infecciosa no ferimento, contribuindo para
acelerar a proliferação das células epiteliais”,
destaca Antonio.
O Grafderm está passando pela fase 2
de testes, chamado de estudo in vivo onde
é avaliado em duas situações diferentes:
sendo a primeira em lesões cutâneas infectadas
e protocolos de atendimento; e a
segunda em lesões cutâneas diabéticas.
Skin protection
Grafderm is the wet dressing for the skin developed by a group
of UFC scientists in partnership with the startup BIOMTEC. Its action
is the direct control of physiological conditions for the restoration
of epithelial tissue. The composition is based on biocellulose
and modified graphene, which has antimicrobial and non-cytotoxic
capabilities.
One of the main highlights of Grafderm, due to its composition,
is the possibility of protecting the tissue generated by its flexibility.
In addition, it also removes exudate (fluid from injuries) and regulates
temperature and humidity on the inflamed area.
Antonio Gomes, Coordinator of Central Analítica, a laboratory
associated with the National System of Laboratories in Nanotechnologies
(SisNano2.0), explains the main characteristics of
Grafderm and its advantages in clinical use. “The incorporation
of graphene oxide anchored with silver nanoparticles gives [the
dressing] a high hydrophilicity, improving its mechanical characteristics,
with the antimicrobial benefit of silver nanoparticles, which
decrease the infectious microbial items in the wound, contributing
to accelerating the proliferation of epithelial cells,” Coordinator
Gomes points out.
Grafderm is undergoing phase 2 of tests, called an in vivo study.
Two different situations are evaluated: the first infected skin lesions
and care protocols and the second in diabetic skin lesions.
