ENTREVISTA É a correção de uma injustiça que foi feita com a silvicultura há anos. É inconcebível pensar que o plantio de árvores era enquadrado como potencial poluidor semelhante à de um aterro sanitário (potencial poluir alto) no Rio Grande do Sul, por exemplo. Acredito que o setor florestal ganha fôlego para prospectar novos investimentos, pois a burocracia é um dos maiores entraves para o desenvolvimento do setor. Assim, como profissionais, podemos focar no que realmente importa, que é o acompanhamento técnico da cadeia produtiva. >> Fale sobre as principais conquistas da associação nos últimos anos? A AGEF entrou com ações jurídicas importantes nos últimos anos, como a que protege o manejo florestal sustentável e a que define as responsabilidades técnicas sobre exploração florestal e a industrialização de madeira. Também nos aproximamos dos sindicatos, das empresas do setor florestal, da Secretaria do Meio Ambiente do Estado e da Assembleia Legislativa do Rio Grande do Sul, através do Fórum Democrático de Desenvolvimento Regional. Em âmbito municipal, estamos atuando em conselhos de meio ambiente. >> Acredita que haja preconceito em relação a uma mulher à frente da entidade? Nunca senti nenhum tipo de preconceito. Pelo contrário, existem elogios. Inclusive, a vice-presidente Nadia Helena Bianchini e as conselheiras da associação, Liana Sarturi de Freitas e Sara Chagas de Souza, são mulheres exemplares e mães. Brincamos que conseguimos dar conta de tudo e ainda organizarmos a casa também. >> Como a tecnologia tem facilitado o trabalho do engenheiro florestal? A tecnologia é um aliado do engenheiro florestal, principalmente nos levantamentos dos dados a campo. O que antes demorava dias, hoje em minutos é resolvido. No entanto, o profissional deve estar mais atento às fichas técnicas dos equipamentos e trabalhar melhor no escritório, no processamento dos dados coletados. Também deve haver cuidado com a obsolência das tecnologias, pois o lançamento de novidades é contínuo. >> Existem desafios para os recém-formados? Um dos perfis de mentoria florestal que gosto muito, o Liga Florestal (@ligaflorestal), tem indicado algumas habilidades essenciais dos recém-formados que desejam ingressar no mercado de trabalho, sendo elas: comunicação oral e escrita, resolução de problemas, proatividade, liderança e trabalho em equipe, vivências diversas, uso de softwares de análise de dados, inclusive planilhas, estatística florestal básica e elaboração de gestão e projetos. Explorar as oportunidades durante a graduação é uma dica importante, pois pode desenvolver as deficiências e habilidades antes da entrada efetiva no mercado de trabalho. >> Que objetivos tem à frente da associação? Meu maior objetivo é unir os engenheiros florestais através da It is the correction of an injustice that was done to forestry years ago. Agef has launched important legal actions in recent years, such as the one to protect Sustainable Forest Management and the one to define technical responsibilities for forest exploitation and wood industrialization. We have also worked closely with business unions, forest companies, the State Environment Department, and the Legislative Assembly of Rio Grande do Sul through the Democratic Forum for Regional Development. At the municipal level, we are active in environmental councils. Do you believe there is any bias against a woman in a leadership role? I have never experienced any form of prejudice. On the contrary, there have been expressions of appreciation. Indeed, Vice-President Nadia Helena Bianchini and the Association’s Council members, Liana Sarturi de Freitas and Sara Chagas de Souza, are exemplary women and mothers. We have a good sense of humor about our ability to manage everything and keep the home organized. How has technology made the Forest Engineer’s job easier? Technology is the Forest Engineer’s ally, especially when it comes to collecting data in the field. What used to take days can now be done in minutes. However, the professional needs to pay more attention to the technical data sheets of the equipment and work better in the office to process the data collected. The Engineer must also be aware of technological obsolescence, as new products are constantly being introduced. Are there any challenges for new graduates? One of the forestry mentoring profiles that I really like, Liga Florestal (@ligaflorestal), has identified some essential skills for recent graduates who want to enter the job market, which are oral and written communication, problem-solving, proactivity, leadership and teamwork, diverse experience, use of data analysis software including spreadsheets, basic forestry statistics, management, and project preparation. Exploring opportunities during your studies is an important tip, as you can develop your deficiencies and skills before you actually enter the job market. What are your goals as President of the Association?
