FASHION DESIGN AND CREATION DIPLOMA PROGRAM 

OUT OF SIGHT 

This collection is based on a story influenced by artist David Hockney, 

architect Luis Baraggan and a touch of Henri Matisse (as he was an 

important muse also to Hockney). The story was born out of the similar 

way in which these great men expressed their souls through their use of 

bright colour and creative form. 

Fashion is a great communicator. Its shapes and colors are very 

important elements, they act like silent words. With this concept in 

mind, this collection was created, using a fusion of all of these colors and 

unexpected lines. The story is about ‘what is beyond’. Because, as David 

Hockney once said, ‘it’s all about looking harder.’ 

I used the same idea whilst making the garment patterns for the 

collection. The viewer is forced to take a closer look in order to 

understand the shapes and forms involved. For example, there are pants 

in the collection that give the first impression of being a skirt, likewise, 

there is a jumpsuit that at first appears to be a dress. 

Furthermore, to add to these ideas I added geometric structures and 

movements to the designs. Taking into account the works and the 

philosophies of my inspirations I wanted to create a feeling of “depth” 

to the garments. Slashes to the surface of the fabric provided layers and 

depth whilst a 3D effect print suggested movement across the garment. 

I had a print created from an interpretation of one of Matisse’s most 

important works, The Dance. 

A personal attachment with clothes is important and I wanted this feeling 

to be present, for the owner to want to keep them as treasured pieces 

of their collection. The fabrics are durable and good quality allowing for 

a long lifespan and the mix and match quality to the collection allows the 

user to change and enrich the mood with varied accessorize. 

The collection was created with the woman’s body in mind as the 

patterns are for women, however, the collection is actually suitable for 

anyone who’s body and soul feels like they belong in the pieces.



GÖZDEN UZAK 

Koleksiyon, sanatçı David Hockney, 

mimar Luis Baraggan’ın esinlenerek 

yarattığı bir hikayeye dayanıyor 

ve David Hockney’in en büyük 

ilhamlarından biri olarak sanatçı 

Henri Matisse’ın da dokunuşu var. 

Hikaye, ruhlarının benzerliklerinin, 

şekillerinin ve parlak renklerinin 

ilhamıyla yaratıldı. 

Moda kendimizi ifade etmek için 

en iyi iletişim aracıdır. Kullandığımız 

şekiller ve renkler iletişim için çok 

önemli faktörlerdir, onlar sessizce 

kullandığımız cümlelerimizdir. Bu 

sebeple bu koleksiyon, bunların 

hepsinin bir birleşimi olarak yaratıldı; 

renkler ve beklenmedik çizgiler. 

Koleksiyonun hikayesi; “ötesinde ne 

var?”. Gerçekten orada ne olduğunu 

görmek daha zordur. Çünkü, 

Hockney’in de söylediği gibi daha 

detaylı bakmak zordur. 

Bu fikir, kıyafetlerin desenlerine 

uygulandı ve anlamak için onlara 

daha fazla bakma ihtiyacını yarattı. 

Örneğin, ilk bakışta bir etek izlenimi 

veren koleksiyonda pantolonlar var 

ya da elbise gibi görünen bir tulum 

var. Ayrıca, geometrik yapılar ve 

hareket aynı zamanda kullanıldı. 

Ana esinlenmelerin eserleri ve 

felsefeleriyle ilgili olarak, giysilerde 

“derinlik” hissi verildi. Yüzeydeki 

eğik çizgiler, vurgulamak için yaratıldı 

ve giysi üzerinde beklenmedik bir 

hareket sağlamak için 3D efekt 

oluşturuldu. Geometrik formları, 

derinliği ve hareketi karıştırmak 

için, Henri Mattise, The Dance’ın en 

önemli eserlerinden birinin yorumu 

olarak bir baskı yaratıldı. 

Giysi ile kişisel ilişkiye sahip 

olmaları, bu sayede sahibin onları 

tutabilmesi, uzun süre kullanabilmesi 

ve uzun süre dayanabilmesidir. 

Kumaşlar, sürdürülebilen kaliteli 

yünlerden seçilmiştir. Aksesuarları 

zenginleştirilip bir karışım ve 

koleksiyonları eşleştirmektir. 

Koleksiyon, kadın bedenini kullanarak 

kadın bedeninin etrafında çalışarak 

yaratıldı, ancak koleksiyon, beden ve 

ruh tarafından giyilenlerin herkesin 

kendisini rahat hissetmesini sağlar. 

Tüm parçalar arasında sürekli bir 

çizgi oluşturudu.

CHAOS 

The collection reflects the chaos we experience in 

life, traffic, crowds and on the streets. At the same 

time, it represents an order within the chaos. 

It has been designed for a strong woman who can 

fight these terrors. This strong woman is confident 

and has a rebellious soul. 

The collection is based around some key fabrics, 

firstly denim. A staple in daily life, denim is used 

everywhere now and will certainly continue to be 

a worldwide favorite into the future. The second 

fabric is fake fur, in this case camouflage-shaped 

fake fur, which in combination with the denim 

created a fighter-like identity to the pieces. In 

applying these fabrics together they became one. 

Pocket details, large cuts and oversized armholes 

were used to make the wearer feel super 

comfortable. Our lives require support from our 

clothing as the hectic daily grind make these small 

comforts essential. 

The colour orange is used within the collection in 

order to reflect the rising sun after dark.

KAOS 

Koleksiyon şehir hayatında, trafikte 

ve sokakta yaşadığımız hayattaki hızlı 

kalabalık karışıklığı ifade etmektedir. 

Ancak aynı zamanda o karışıklığın 

içinde olan bir o kadar da düzenden 

oluşmaktadır. 

Terör ve bu terörle mücadele etmeye 

çalışan güçlü bir kadına yönelik 

hazırlanmıştır. Bu güçlü kadın kendine 

güveni olan sert ve asi ruhlu bir kadın. 

Günlük hayatta her insanın kullandığı 

ve yıllar sonra da kullanacağı 

’denim’den yola çıkılmıştır. 

Koleksiyonun ana kumaşında 

harmanlanan bir diğer kumaş ise 

denime daha askeri ve savaşçı kimliği 

kazandıran kamuflaj desenli suni 

kürktür. Bu iki kumaş elde aplike 

halinde birleştirilerek bir bütün haline 

getirilmiştir. Koleksiyondaki cep 

detayları, geniş kesimler ve geniş 

kol evleri bunu giyicek kişinin en 

önemlisi rahatlığına uygun olması 

için tasarlanmıştır. Gündelik hayatının 

hızına yetişebilmek küçük ama bir 

o kadar da büyük, bir kıyafette her 

insanın kullanmayı istediği detaylardır. 

Koleksiyondaki baskın renk olan 

turuncu, batan güneşin ardından 

yeniden doğan güneşin simgesidir.

SECRET GARDEN 

One’s private world ‘’mon jardin secret’’ is a 

place where we can indulge our own thoughts 

and fantasies. 

Throughout modern history collectors of weird 

and wonderful objects from around the world 

owned ‘cabinets of curiosities’ or ‘wonder 

rooms’ where they exhibited their finds. Inside 

these cabinets there would be a collection of 

extraordinary objects and oddities from the 

natural world; Butterflies, bugs, skeletons... 

Odd and intriguing at the same time. 

In order to give a flavour of these ideas to my 

collection, I first chose intricate fabrics and 

combined them to reflect the well ordered 

shelves of the objects in the cabinets of 

curiosity. Insects are used within the fabric 

design to create a sense of mystery and 

admiration. This lead to the creation of a 

selection of prints made from fishbone, 

butterflies and other insects. I wanted to 

create a personal cabinet of curiosity for the 

wearer and to celebrate ‘’mon jardin secret’’. 

Another historical reference that intrigues and 

fascinates is the mermaid. Mythical powerful 

women, drawing in sailors and those lost at sea 

with their beauty and femininity. This concept 

influenced the delicate feminine nature of the 

collection. Soft intimate fabrics that evoke a 

sensual mood reflect the beauty and delicacy 

of the naked female form.

GİZLİ BAHÇE 

Kişinin özel dünyasının kendi 

fantezileri ve düşüncelerini düşünerek 

“Gizli Bahçe” ortaya çıktı. ‘ Merak 

Odaları ‘olarak bilinen merak dolabı 

olağanüstü nesne koleksiyonlarıdır 

ve doğal dünyanın harikaları ve 

tuhaflıkları hakkında hikayeler 

anlatırlar. Kelebekler, böcekler, 

iskeletler… Aynı zamanda tuhaf ve 

merak uyandıran her şey. Ayrıca 

deniz kızları. Deniz kızları gibi 

mitolojik kadınlar, bu koleksiyonu 

yaptıkça güzellik algısı şehirde de 

aynı koleksiyon yapıldı. Hassas 

kumaşlar ve kadife dokusu, kadınlara 

karşı duyusal yaklaşımın seçimidir ve 

kadınların duyguları ve yumuşaklığını 

tüm çıplaklığıyla ortaya çıkartır. 

Karmaşık kumaşlar ve bunların 

kombinasyonları, bu koleksiyonda 

asırlık gizemini gösteren böcekler 

meraklıların kabinesindeki planlı ve iyi 

düzenlenmiş rafları temsil eder. 

Burada balık kılçığı, kelebek ve 

böceklerin parmak izleri ortaya 

çıktı. ’ Gizli Bahçe’ ve kendi gizli ve 

kişisel hayranlıklarımızdan oluşan 

dolaplarımızı kutluyoruz.

UNDERWATER 

The story behind the collection takes place at 

the pacific ocean. The collection was inspired 

by artist Michelle Lougee, who displayed the 

figures of sea creatures she knitted using the 

waste from the ocean to draw attention to the 

pollution at the Pacific ocean. These ideas were 

implemented in the collection by knitting and 

weaving waste products with natural fibers that 

do not harm the environment, like wool.

Pasifik okyanusunun kirlenmesine 

dikkat çekmek isteyen sanatçı 

Michelle Lougee orada bulunan 

atıklardan oluşan örerek yaptığı 

deniz canlıları figürlerini sergilemiş. 

Bu fikir tasarımlarda hem atık ürünler 

hemde doğal yünleri çevreye zarar 

vermeyecek ürünlerle örerek ve 

dokuyarak kullanılmıştır.

BLIND DEEPNESS 

“As you dive deep into the ocean even in the 

daytime it becomes dark and impossible to 

see anything. So, in the same way let’s ignore 

the deeper feelings when we dive deep into 

emotions.” 

With this thought as starting point, the pieces 

of the collection were inspired by the volumes 

of sharks and whales. A fabric print was created 

to reflect deep feelings made invisible, using 

braille. Swarovski crystals were used to provide 

a third dimension to the prints.



KÖR DERİNLİK 

“Okyanusta gün ortasında bile derine 

indikçe ışığı kaybeder ve hiçbir şey 

göremezsiniz. Duygularda derine 

indikçe onları da görmeyelim o 

zaman” düşüncesiyle; okyanusun 

derinliği, köpek balıkları ve 

balinaların hacimlerini parçalara 

aktarırken, bir yandan da bu derin 

duyguları görünmez kılıp kör 

alfabesine çevirerek koleksiyonda 

kullanılabilinecek bir print 

oluşturulmuştur. Bu printleri 3 boyutlu 

verebilmek adına, Swarovski kristaller 

kullanılmıştır. “Blind Deepness” bu 

şekilde ortaya çıkmıştır.

COLORED ARMY 

Communism - the same for all? 

Russia, an ex-communist country, and Cuba, 

still under the communist rule, might have 

similarities in terms of politics, but when it 

comes to the way of life and the attitude of 

people, it’s completely a different story. 

It is this contrast that my collection explores. 

While Russians are considered to have a serious 

demeanor, Cubans are generally thought to be 

friendly, outgoing and chatty. There are many 

contrasts like this when comparing the two, 

the climate, the size of the country, the military 

connections to their cultures etc etc. These 

differences affect peoples way of life, not just 

their cultural identity. 

The collection fuses these contrasting ideas 

together to create something new. Whilst the 

shapes used are a direct influence from Russian 

communism, the colours and playful aspects 

represent Cuban communism. Broad shoulders 

and large strong collars reflect the stern Russian 

military styles, whilst the fluency of the skirts are 

a nod to Cuban traditions. 

The result is this ‘Colored Army.’

Komünism – herkes için aynı mı? 

Rusya, eski komünist bir ülke, ve 

Küba, hala komünist rejim altında, 

benzer ama farklı. Rusya artık bir 

federasyon olduğu halde, yönetim 

şeklinde hala komünist etkiler var. 

Bu iki ülkenin siyasi anlamda benzer 

tarafları olabilir; ancak insanların 

hayat tarzları ve duruşları bambaşka. 

Genel kanı Rusların ciddi bir tavrı 

olduğu yönündeyken, Kübalılar tam 

tersidir; cana yakın, dışa dönük ve 

konuşkanlardır. Rusya dendiğinde ilk 

akla gelen askeri tavırdır. KGB, kağıt 

üzerinde operasyon yürütmüyor, 

ancak gerçekte bunun tersine 

inanılır. Bu iki ülkeyi kıyaslamaya 

devam ettiğimizde, iklim ve toprak 

büyüklüklerinin tam tersi ortanıda 

olduğunu görürüz. Rusya dünyanın 

en geniş alanına sahip ülkesiyken, 

Küba sadece küçük bir adadır. Rusya 

soğuk ve bulutluyken, Küba tropik bir 

iklime sahiptir. Bu farklılıklar insanların 

sadece kişiliklerini değil, yaşam 

tarzlarını etkilemektedir. 

Bu koleksiyon zıt kutupların birbirini 

çekimini anlatmaktadır. Koleksiyonun 

şekli Rus komünizminden ilham 

alırken, renkleri ve rahatlığı Küba 

komünizmini temsil etmektedir. 

Geniş omuzlar ve kuvvetli geniş 

yakalar bu askeri tarzın öğeleridir. 

Eteklerin akışkanlığı Küba tarzının 

yansımasıdır. Dolayısıyla elde edilen 

sonuç renklerin ordusudur.

TRAPPED BODY 

An aspiration to be who you really are is shared 

by everyone. 

Culture and society dictate the way we think we 

should act, and this surpasses the desire to feel 

free. All of us, rich, poor, western or eastern feel 

trapped in ourselves and furthermore trapped 

by the outside world. 

The collection captures these feelings. Some 

constructions make you feel claustrophobic, 

whilst some using draping and volume give you a 

sense of space and air. This is also reflected in the 

fabric choices, heavy wool and use of gabardine.


TUTSAK BEDEN 

Kim olduğunun arzusu, her insanda 

bir girişimdir. Kültür ve toplum, 

hareket etmemiz gerektiğini 

hissettiğimiz yolu etkinleştirir ve bu 

bizi özgür kılan duyguyu aşar. 

Para ve çevre (zengin/fakir,batı/doğu) 

sadece kendimize , etrafımızdakilere 

karşı değil, her şeye karşı sınırlı bir 

his verir. 

Bazı durumlar klostrofobik ve sıkışmış 

hissetmenizi sağlarken, kumaş ve 

kumaşlar için hava ve hacim size 

hava verir; Bazıları ağır yün ve diğer 

gabardindir.

The consequences of silence is more dangerous 

than it’s causes. And because conscious is the 

lighthouse that guides mankind to the right 

path, we seek it’s assistance in achieving the 

Arab dream. 

Walk the journey, because what else waters the 

soul other than a fearless heart? 

Inspired and dedicated to men and woman living 

in NO MANS LAND.

Sessizliğin sonuçları, nedenlerden 

daha tehlikelidir. Ve bilinçli insanlığın 

doğru yola yönlendirdiği deniz 

feneri olduğu için, Arap rüyasını 

gerçekleştirme konusunda yardım 

istendi. 

Yolculuğa çıkın, yoksa başka hiçbir 

şey ruhları korkusuz bir kalp dışında 

sular mı? 

Tarafsız Bölge’de yaşayan kadın ve 

erkeğe adandı ve onlara ilham verdi.
