Medical Device Industry evolves 

From the editor 

The Turkish Medical Device industry is constantly evolving. The medical technology 

sector must be aware of the market pulse and be prepared to adapt to shifts in 

the market. That’s a herculean feat given the complexity of market drivers 

and constraints. The solution is to build agility into the business with a strong 

commitment to new product development while maintaining existing product 

lines. The ideal business will deliver supply chain advantages with high flexibility 

and most importantly, healthy margins. On the other hand, as we approach 2022, 

healthcare players will continue to work to better meet the needs of their patients, 

doctors and nursing staff. 

In this process, the name of the game became pandemic. Anything that had 

anything to do with transport, logistics, and inventory faced endless hurdles 

owing to travel restrictions, transport delays, decreased transport capacities, 

drastically increased freight price, and more. In order for manufacturers to absorb 

all these setbacks, they have had to develop stronger and more resilient supply 

chain strategies for themselves. Supply chain resilience is therefore one of the top 

selection criteria for manufacturers.

Medikal Cihaz Sektörü gelişiyor 

Türk Medikal Cihaz sektörü sürekli gelişiyor. Medikal teknoloji sektörü artan 

nabzın farkına varmalı ve pazardaki değişimlere uyum sağlamaya hazır olmalı. 

Sektör oyuncuları ve kısıtlamaların karmaşıklığı göz önüne alındığında, bu çok zor 

bir başarı. Çözüm, mevcut ürün gamını korurken yeni ürün geliştirmeye azimle 

sarılarak, işe sinerji kazandırmak. İdeal iş, yüksek esneklik ve en önemlisi sağlıklı 

marjlar ile tedarik zinciri avantajları sağlayacak. Öte yandan, 2022’ye yaklaşırken 

sağlık sektörü oyuncuları hastalarının, doktorlarının ve hemşirelik personelinin 

ihtiyaçlarını daha iyi karşılamak için çalışmaya devam edecek. 

Bu süreçte oyunun adı pandemi oldu. Taşımacılık, lojistik ve envanter ile ilgisi olan 

her şey, seyahat kısıtlamaları, taşıma gecikmeleri, azalan taşıma kapasiteleri, 

büyük ölçüde artan navlun fiyatları ve daha fazlası nedeniyle sonsuz engelle 

karşılaştı. Üreticilerin tüm bu aksilikleri absorbe edebilmeleri için kendileri için 

daha güçlü ve daha dayanıklı tedarik zinciri stratejileri geliştirmeleri gerekiyor. 

Tedarik zinciri esnekliği bu nedenle üreticiler için en önemli kriterlerden biri. 

Bir sonraki sayıda buluşana kadar sağlıkla ve esenlikle kalın.

Su ve insan kaynaklarımız 

The target set in the Paris climate agreement has 

not been met. According to the report released 

by the UN Environment Programme, it was 

emphasized that the earth is on the way to warm 

2.7 degrees more. The biggest concern is that 

this will lead to increased mass casualties and 

the destruction of livelihoods. Access to clean 

drinking water is getting harder day by day and 

our resources are shrinking rapidly due to many 

reasons such as not giving enough importance 

to the protection of nature, forest fires, heavy 

industrial wastes. If urgent measures are not 

taken, great dangers await all of us in the 

near future. Just as water resources are 

important for humanity, our people are 

just as important for the existence of our 

companies. While the Covid-19 pandemic, 

which has been in our lives for about two 

years and has negatively affected the 

lives of almost all of us, is not over yet, 

we are now faced with economic 

turmoil. I believe that this difficult 

process will be overcome with 

mutual self-sacrifice and sincere 

solidarity of employers and 

employees. 

I am honored to share a good 

news from the medical industry.

employees and those who

Paris iklim anlaşmasında öngörülen hedef tutmadı. Birleşmiş 

Milletler İklim ajansının açıkladığı rapora göre yeryüzünün 2.7 

derece daha ısınma yolunda olduğu vurgulandı. Bu durumun 

kitlesel can kayıplarının artması ve geçim kaynaklarının yok 

olmasına yol açacak olması en büyük endişe kaynağı. Doğanın 

korunması için gereken önemin verilmemesi, orman yangınları, 

ağır sanayi atıkları daha bir çok sebeplerden dolayı, her geçen 

gün temiz içme suyuna erişim de zorlaşarak, kaynaklarımız hızla 

daralmakta. Acil önlem alınamazsa yakın gelecekte hepimizi 

büyük tehlikeler bekliyor. Su kaynakları insanlık adına ne 

kadar önemliyse, insanlarımız da şirketlerimizin varlığı için o 

kadar önemlilik arz etmekte. Yaklaşık iki yıldır 

hayatımızda olan ve hemen hemen hepimizin 

yaşantısını olumsuz yönde etkileyen Covit-19 

pandemisi henüz bitmemişken, şimdi de 

ekonomik çalkantılarla karşı karşıyayız. 

Bu zorlu sürecin, işveren ve iş görenin 

karşılıklı özveriler içerisinde bulunarak, 

samimi dayanışmasıyla aşılacağı 

kanısındayım.

MEDICA 2021 ve COMPAMED 2021 beklentilerin çok ötesine geçti 

Visitors and exhibitors were in good spirits throughout – 

personal encounters once again take centre stage 

After their four-day run as an in-person event, MEDICA and 

COMPAMED have achieved extremely successful results in 

Düsseldorf. From 15 to 18 November 2021, the world’s leading 

information and communication platforms for the medical 

technology industry and its supplier sector presented a wealth of 

convincing innovations as well as an accompanying programme 

that covered a wide range of topics (supplemented by digital 

offers) and did justice to their internationally prestigious 

position. “The atmosphere in the trade fair halls was relaxed and 

characterised by a sense of optimism throughout; conversations 

with our customers have shown that in many cases, we have 

exceeded expectations. People were finally able to establish new 

and intensify existing contacts in person,” says Erhard Wienkamp, 

Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf, visibly pleased as he takes 

stock of the past days. 

46,000 visitors (with an international share of 73 percent) from 

150 countries seized the opportunity to engage in person with 

the 3,033 MEDICA and 490 COMPAMED exhibitors in Düsseldorf, 

obtaining information on the comprehensive range of innovations 

for outpatient and inpatient care, including every step of their 

development and manufacture, and trying out many innovative 

products live in the trade fair halls. 

Kişisel buluşmaların bir kez daha önemini 

gösterdiği fuarda ziyaretçiler ve katılımcılar 

baştan sona iyi bir ruh halindeydi 

MEDICA ve COMPAMED, dört günlük yüz yüze bir etkinlik 

olarak, Düsseldorf’ta son derece başarılı sonuçlar sundular. 

15-18 Kasım 2021 tarihleri arasında, medikal teknoloji 

endüstrisi ve onun tedarikçi sektörü için dünyanın önde 

gelen bilgi ve iletişim platformları, çok sayıda ikna edici 

inovasyonun yanı sıra çok çeşitli konuları kapsayan (dijital 

tekliflerle desteklenen) bir program sundu ve uluslararası 

prestijli konumlarını güçlendirdi. “Fuar salonlarındaki 

atmosfer rahattı ve baştan sona bir iyimserlik duygusuyla 

karakterize edildi; müşterilerimizle yaptığımız görüşmeler, 

birçok durumda beklentileri aştığımızı gösterdi” diyen 

Messe Düsseldorf’un Genel Müdürü Erhard Wienkamp, 

geçmiş günlerin değerlendirmesini yaparken gözle görülür 

bir memnuniyetle, insanlar nihayet yeni ilişkiler kurabildi ve 

mevcut temasları şahsen yoğunlaştırabildi” dedi. 

150 ülkeden 46.000 ziyaretçi (yüzde 73’lük uluslararası bir 

pay ile), Düsseldorf’taki 3.033 MEDICA ve 490 COMPAMED 

katılımcısı ile yüz yüze görüşme fırsatı yakaladı ve birçok 

yenilikçi ürünü fuar salonlarında canlı olarak deneyerek, 

ayakta ve yatarak tedavi için kapsamlı yenilikler yelpazesi 

hakkında bilgi aldı.

“The numbers are encouraging, and were hardly expected to be 

at this level in spring. With the combination of trade fair events 

and digital supplements, MEDICA and COMPAMED have given the 

industry strong stimuli. The exhibitors are happy to have come 

to Düsseldorf and are already actively inquiring about options 

to take part next year,” says Christian Grosser, Director Health & 

Medical Technologies at Messe Düsseldorf, thus reflecting the 

positive signals fed back by participants and trade associations 

alike. 

The industry portals MEDICA.de and COMPAMED.de added a 

range of offers in line with the live events at the trade fairs.

olması pek beklenmiyordu. MEDICA ve COMPAMED, fuar

Zorluklara rağmen büyüme hakkında konuşulacak 

çok şey var 

Uluslararası taşımacılıkta devam eden kısıtlamalara 

rağmen, Almanya Elektromedikal Teknoloji Derneği (ZVEI), 

bu yıl uluslararası elektromedikal teknoloji pazarı için yüzde 

sekiz büyüme öngördü. “Karma bir yüz yüze etkinlik olarak 

MEDICA, katılımcılara ve ziyaretçilere yenilikçi tıbbi ürünleri 

ve tıbbi teknoloji alanındaki güncel eğilimleri hem yüz yüze 

hem de çevrimiçi olarak tartışmak için hayati bir platform 

sağladı.

and the MEDICA MEDICINE + SPORTS CONFERENCE; network 

via the special Matchmaking tool; and obtain information on 

innovative products in the exhibitors’ online showrooms.

Tıbbi Teknoloji Başkanı Marcus Kuhlmann, 

Growth despite challenges provides plenty to talk 

about 

Despite continuing restrictions in international transport, 

Germany’s Association for Electromedical Technology (ZVEI) has 

predicted a growth of eight percent for the global electromedical 

technology market in the current year. “As a hybrid in-person 

event, MEDICA has given exhibitors and visitors a vital platform 

to discuss innovative medical products and current trends in the 

field of medical technology, both face-to-face and online. In doing 

so, the fair supports exhibitors in their work on European and 

international markets,” explains Hans-Peter Bursig, Managing 

Director of the Electromedical Technology Trade Association at 

ZVEI. Marcus Kuhlmann, Head of Medical Technology at German 

industry association SPECTARIS, also highlights the importance 

of MEDICA and COMPAMED when it comes to exports and close 

business ties to other countries. 

“In order to shape the health market of tomorrow together, with 

innovative ideas and concepts, we need a strong industry network 

within the medical technology sector. Personal dialogue remains 

irreplaceable, even in this era of digital transformation, and our 

members had really looked forward to it after a pandemic that has 

now lasted more than one and a half years.

We were therefore even more delighted than usual to attend 

MEDICA and COMPAMED in person in Düsseldorf this year, and 

obtain new stimuli for the medical technology industry.” 

Together with ZVEI, SPECTARIS organised the MEDICA TECH 

FORUM (in Hall 9 and as a livestream), which dealt with questions 

around international market access and regulatory requirements 

for medical technology. 

Here, the forum focused in particular on the national markets in 

Africa, the USA and the United Kingdom as well as the Russian 

healthcare system’s specific digitisation needs, for example in the 

context of the coronavirus pandemic. 

The industry furthermore currently faces one issue that is 

extremely challenging and was accordingly much discussed 

and showed a need for additional information, not just among 

forum participants but throughout the halls of MEDICA and 

COMPAMED: the application of the new EU Medical Device 

Regulation (MDR). 

“In principle, it is appropriate and essential to regulate medical 

technology, as this guarantees an extremely high level of patient 

and user safety across the board. 

But we need to critically question any regulations that do not 

sufficiently contribute to an increase in safety and retract them if 

necessary. If we don’t, we weaken Europe’s position as a research 

and innovation location,” says Marcus Kuhlman of SPECTARIS.

SPECTARIS, ZVEI ile birlikte, uluslararası pazara erişim ve 

tıbbi teknoloji için yasal gereklilikler ile ilgili soruları ele 

alan MEDICA TECH FORUM’u (Salon 9’da ve canlı yayın 

olarak) düzenledi. Burada forum, özellikle Afrika, ABD ve 

Birleşik Krallık’taki ulusal pazarların yanı sıra, örneğin 

koronavirüs pandemisi bağlamında Rus sağlık sisteminin 

özel dijitalleştirme ihtiyaçlarına odaklandı. 

Sektör ayrıca şu anda son derece zorlu ve buna bağlı olarak 

çok tartışılan ve yalnızca forum katılımcıları arasında 

değil, MEDICA ve COMPAMED salonlarında ek bilgiye 

ihtiyaç duyduğunu gösteren bir sorunla karşı karşıya: 

yeni AB Tıbbi Cihaz Yönetmeliğinin (MDR) uygulanması. 

SPECTARIS’ten Marcus Kuhlman diyor ki, “İlke olarak, 

tıbbi teknolojinin düzenlenmesi uygun ve esastır, çünkü bu, 

her yerde son derece yüksek düzeyde hasta ve kullanıcı 

güvenliğini garanti ediyor. Ancak güvenlik artışına yeterince 

katkıda bulunmayan düzenlemeleri eleştirel bir şekilde 

sorgulamamız ve gerekirse geri çekmemiz gerekiyor.”

An award of 550 thousand TL was distributed in the 

10th Chemistry R&D Project Market Competition 

10. Kimya Ar-Ge Proje Pazarı’nda 550 bin lira ödül dağıtıldı

Winners of the 10th Chemistry R&D Project 

Market Competition received their awards, 20 

projects were awarded in the competition, where 

87 projects applied. 

The Award Ceremony of the 10th Chemistry R&D Project 

Market Competition, which was organized with the 

approval of the Ministry of Commerce of Turkey, under 

the coordination of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) 

and with the organization of the Istanbul Chemicals and 

Products Exporters’ Association (IKMIB), was held digitally 

on 27 November 2021. In the competition, in which a 

total of 87 projects applied in six project categories, 20 

projects were awarded and 550 thousand TL cash prize was 

distributed. 

The award ceremony of the “Chemistry R&D Project 

Market” event, which was held for the 10th time this 

year and broadcast live on IKMIB’s YouTube channel, 

was attended by Adil Pelister, Chairman of the Board, 

IKMIB, Necmi Sadıkoğlu, Executive Board, Chemistry R&D 

Project Market, Dr. S. Armağan Vurdu, Secretary General 

of IMMIB, Executive Board Members of the R&D Project 

10. Kimya Ar-Ge Proje Pazarı’nda kazananlar 

ödüllerine kavuştu, 87 projenin başvurduğu 

yarışmada 20 proje ödüle layık görüldü 

T.C. Ticaret Bakanlığı onayında, Türkiye İhracatçılar 

Meclisi’nin (TİM) koordinasyonunda ve İstanbul Kimyevi 

Maddeler ve Mamulleri İhracatçıları Birliği (İKMİB) 

organizasyonu ile düzenlenen “10. Kimya Ar-Ge Proje 

Pazarı Ödül Töreni”, 27 Kasım 2021 tarihinde dijital olarak 

gerçekleştirildi. Altı proje kategorisinde toplam 87 projenin 

başvurduğu yarışmada 20 proje ödüle layık görüldü ve 550 

bin TL para ödülü dağıtıldı. 

Bu yıl 10’uncusu düzenlenen ve İKMİB’in YouTube 

kanalından canlı yayınlanan “Kimya Ar-Ge Proje Pazarı” 

etkinliğinin ödül töreni, İKMİB Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Adil 

Pelister, Ar-Ge Proje Pazarı Yürütme Kurulu Başkanı Necmi 

Sadıkoğlu, İMMİB Genel Sekreteri Dr. S. Armağan Vurdu, 

Ar-Ge Proje Pazarı Yürütme Kurulu Üyeleri ile proje başvuru 

sahipleri, akademisyenler ve sanayicilerin katılımıyla 27 

Kasım 2021 tarihinde dijital olarak gerçekleştirildi.

Market Competition, project applicants, academics and 

industrialists, was held digitally on 27th of November 2021. 

87 projects applied this year 

This year, a total of 87 projects applied in 6 different 

categories: “medicine”, “medical”, “paints and adhesives”, 

“plastic and rubber”, “cosmetics-soap and cleaning 

products” and “basic chemicals”. 

With the determination of the finalist projects in each 

category, the finalists presented their projects in digital 

environment to the jury members in the morning and 

afternoon sessions on November 27, 2021. The first of the 

category was awarded with 50 thousand TL, the second 

was awarded with 30 thousand TL and third was awarded 

with 20 thousand TL as a result of the evaluation carried 

out by the jury. A total of 550 thousand TL monetary award 

was given to 20 project owners who received a degree. In 

addition, a special award of 100 thousand TL will be given 

to the projects that become commercialized within a year. 

Adil Pelister: “Our target is to reach the export 

amount of 40 billion dollars in the chemical 

industry in 2030” 

Speaking at the 10th Chemistry R&D Project Market 

Competition Award Ceremony, Adil Pelister, Chairman of 

the Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters’ 

Association, stated that the chemical industry will set a 

new record by surpassing the exports of approximately 

24 billion dollars in 2021. Pelister said, “We are working 

hard with long-term studies to bring our industry to 

higher levels and to provide more permanent benefits to 

our economy. Our target is to catch the export amount 

of 40 billion dollars of chemical industry in 2030. The 

ability of our chemical industry to reach the targeted 

exports depends on its ability to produce innovative and 

competitive products with high added value.” 

1 million 756 thousand TL award was 

given in 9 years 

Emphasizing that the production of high value-added 

products is based on giving importance to R&D studies 

and that innovations and inventions in the chemical 

industry directly affect our quality of life, Pelister said, “The 

fact that ideas are applicable and can be produced will 

quickly contribute to the country’s economy and reduce

proudly reached the 10th anniversary of our R&D Project 

Market Event in the Chemical Industry, which we organized 

for this purpose. In 9 years, over 1,100 project applications 

have been evaluated in the categories of pharmaceuticals 

and pharmaceuticals, paints and adhesives, plastics and 

rubber, cosmetics, soap and cleaning products, and basic 

chemicals, and we have distributed 1 million 756 thousand 

liras to the project owners. Again, this year, we will award 

50 thousand TL for the first place, 30 thousand TL for the 

second, 20 thousand TL for the third place, and additionally 

100 thousand TL for commercialized projects in each 

category.”

Bu yıl 87 proje başvurdu 

Bu yıl, “ilaç”, “medikal”, “boyalar ve yapıştırıcılar”, “plastik 

ve kauçuk”, “kozmetik-sabun ve temizlik ürünleri” ve 

“temel kimyasallar” olmak üzere 6 ayrı kategoride toplam 

87 proje başvuru yaptı. 

Her kategoride finalist olan projelerin belirlenmesi 

ile finalistler, 27 Kasım 2021 tarihinde sabah ve öğlen 

oturumlarında jüri üyelerine dijital ortamda projelerini 

sundu. Jüri tarafından gerçekleştirilen değerlendirme 

sonucunda belirlenen kategori birincileri 50 bin TL, ikincileri 

30 bin TL ve üçüncüleri 20 bin TL para ödülü almaya hak 

kazandı. Derece alan 20 proje sahibine toplam 550 bin TL 

para ödülü verildi. Ayrıca bir yıl içinde ticarileşen projelere 

100 bin TL özel ödül verilecek.

10. Kimya Ar-Ge Proje Pazarı Ödül Töreni’ne konuşan 

İstanbul Kimyevi Maddeler ve Mamulleri İhracatçıları Birliği 

Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Adil Pelister, kimya sektörünün 

2021 senesini yaklaşık 24 milyar dolarlık ihracatı 

geçerek yeni bir rekora imza atacaklarını dile getirdi. 

Pelister, “Sektörümüzü daha üst noktalara ulaştırmak ve 

ekonomimize daha fazla kalıcı faydalar sağlamak için uzun 

vadeli çalışmalar ile var gücümüzle çalışıyoruz. Hedefimiz 

2030 yılında 40 milyar dolarlık kimya sektörü ihracat tutarını

ulaşabilmesi ise katma değeri yüksek, yenilikçi ve rekabetçi

Declaring about the Chemistry Technology Center project, 

which they think will have a very important place in the 

future of the country, as IKMIB, Pelister said that in terms 

of sustainability and the development of R&D culture, by 

taking one of the most concrete steps towards realizing 

university-industry cooperation, public-industry has been 

working for 10 years to increase sustainable exports. He 

underlined that they are a bridge within the academician 

triangle.

Speaking at the Award Ceremony, Necmi Sadıkoğlu, 

Executive Board of Chemistry R&D Project Market 

Competition, stated that their goal is to develop innovative, 

strong R&D and applicable products and said, “We are the 

representatives of the 5 trillion dollar market, our share 

from this market is around four per thousand. It means we 

are at the beginning. This year, our country’s exports will 

be close to 220 billion dollars, within which we will export 

22-23 billion dollars of chemistry. Our goal should be to 

produce and export quality value-added products. We will 

produce more, sell more, export more. But while doing 

this, we will make high quality production with high added 

value and increase our exports as much as possible so 

that we do not experience these crises. When the Central 

Bank’s foreign exchange reserves increase, interest rates 

will decrease, investment, production and employment 

will increase. Our country needs R&D and innovation. The 

way to get out of the vicious circle is to do R&D, design and 

innovation.”

geliştirmek olduğunu belirterek, “Bizler 5 trilyon dolarlık 

piyasanın temsilcileriyiz, bu piyasadan aldığımız pay binde 

dört civarında. Demek ki işin başındayız. Bu sene ülke 

ihracatımız 220 milyar dolara yakın olacak, bunun içinde 22- 

23 milyar dolarlık kimya ihracatı yapacağız. Nitelikli katma 

değerli ürün üretip ihraç etmek hedefimiz olmalı. Daha çok 

üreteceğiz, daha çok satacağız, daha çok ihracat yapacağız. 

Ama bunu yaparken de katma değeri yüksek nitelikli üretim 

yapacağız ve ihracatımızı da olabildiğince artıracağız ki 

bu yaşadığımız krizleri yaşamayalım. Merkez Bankası’nın 

döviz rezervleri çoğaldığı zaman faizler düşecek yatırım, 

üretim ve istihdam artacak. Ülkemizin Ar-Ge’ye, inovasyona 

ihtiyacı var. Kısır döngüden kurtulmanın yolu Ar-Ge yapmak, 

tasarım ve inovasyon yapmak” dedi.

November is celebrated as Lung Cancer 

Awareness Month every year. Continuing its 

studies for Lung Cancer awareness and diagnosis 

of the disease, Siemens Healthineers met with 

Prof. Dr. Recep Savaş, who has been working as a 

lecturer in the Radiology Department of Medical 

Faculty, Ege University for more than 30 years and 

also President of the Turkish Society of Thoracic 

Radiology, within the scope of Lung Cancer 

Awareness Month. Prof. Dr. Savaş answered the 

most curious questions about the critical role 

of radiology applications in the diagnosis and 

treatment of lung cancer, and imaging methods, 

biopsy, treatment and artificial intelligence 

applications in lung cancer. 

1. Akciğer kanseri taramalarında BT çekimi için 

hazırlık süreci bulunuyor mu? Bu süreç hangi 

aşamalardan oluşuyor? 

Akciğer kanseri şüphesi nedeniyle yapılan BT çekiminde 

hiçbir ön hazırlığa ihtiyaç duyulmuyor ve düşük doz toraks 

BT uygulaması ile çekim kolayca gerçekleştiriliyor. Bu 

çekim, ortalama 5-15 saniye aralığında sürüyor. Ancak 

akciğer kanseri tanısı konmuş bir kişiye yapılan BT 

çekimlerinde farklı bir prosedür uygulanıyor ve hastaya 

önce kol damarından kontrast madde denilen boyalı bir ilaç 

veriliyor. Olası ani kusma ve bunun akciğere kaçma riskini 

engellemek için hastalara uygulama yapılmadan önce en 

az 2-3 saat aç kalmalarını öneriyoruz. Ardından çekim yine 

saniyeler içinde yapılıyor. 

1. Is there a preparation process for CT scanning 

in lung cancer screenings? What stages does this 

process consist of? 

No preliminary preparation is required for CT scan 

performed due to the suspicion of lung cancer, and lowdose 

thoracic CT is easily performed. This shot takes an 

average of 5-15 seconds. However, a different procedure is 

applied in CT scans performed on a person diagnosed with 

lung cancer, and first a dyed drug called contrast agent is 

given to the patient through the arm vein. We recommend 

patients to fast for at least 2-3 hours before the application 

to prevent possible sudden vomiting and the risk of it 

escaping into the lungs. Then the scanning is done in 

seconds again.

2. If a suspicious lung nodule is detected on CT, 

how long and how do you recommend continuing 

follow-up CT scans? 

If the nodule is smaller than 5 mm and has no risk factors, 

it does not need to be followed. However, for nodules 

larger than 5 mm, the scans are repeated at 6 or 12-month 

intervals for about 2 years. For nodules larger than 1 

cm, PET/CT, an advanced oncological imaging method, is 

performed when necessary, taking into account the risk 

factor and age of the patient. Afterwards, this nodule is 

surgically removed or followed up regularly according to 

the results of the evaluation. 

3. What should be the technical equipment of CT 

devices for Low Dose Lung CT imaging? 

Two parameters are of great importance in the device for 

low-dose lung CT. One of them is mA, that is, low type 

current; the other is kV, ie low tube voltage. Shots are 

usually made by lowering the mA value. The kV value can 

also be reduced to a lesser extent. It is very important that 

these two parameters can be reduced in a device. We see 

that this feature is generally found in devices developed in 

recent years, although not in every device. 

4. What about lung biopsy? 

The location of the lesion is extremely important for biopsy 

in the lung. If it is close to the bronchi, biopsy can be taken 

by entering the skin with a needle, not by bronchoscopy. 

Either CT or ultrasonography is used as a guide for the skin 

to be entered. 

5. Is there a biopsy method you particularly 

recommend or prefer? 

The biopsy method should be decided according to the 

existing lesion. However, fine needle aspiration biopsy, 

if performed by an experienced specialist, can provide 

sufficient specimens for both diagnosis and further 

investigation. 

6. Which imaging methods are used in lung cancer 

staging? 

Generally, chest X-ray and chest CT are used routinely, 

followed by PET/CT. However, brain MRI is needed for 

brain metastases. In some cases, for example, if there is a 

suspicion that cancerous cells have spread to the adrenal 

glands or liver, MRI is performed for those areas. 

7. How do you think artificial intelligence-based 

software will help you in your business processes 

such as nodule tracking? 

Artificial intelligence programs that can calculate the 

volume of the nodule and thus the doubling speed in the 

nodule follow-up provide an important support for the 

definitive diagnosis by eliminating the possible differences 

in personal opinions. I also think that artificial intelligence is 

extremely useful in detecting lesions that can be missed by 

the human eye on X-ray or CT for the detection of nodules. 

2. BT’de şüpheli bir akciğer nodülü tespit edilirse 

takip BT çekimlerine ne kadar süreyle ve nasıl 

devam edilmesini öneriyorsunuz? 

Eğer nodül 5 mm’den küçükse ve risk faktörü taşımıyorsa, 

takip edilmesi gerekmiyor. Ancak 5 mm’den büyük 

nodüller için çekimler 6 veya 12 aylık aralıklarla, yaklaşık 

2 yıl boyunca tekrarlanıyor. 1 cm’den büyük nodüller için 

ise gerekli durumlarda hastanın risk faktörü ve yaşı da 

gözetilerek gelişmiş bir onkolojik görüntüleme yöntemi 

olan PET/BT çekimi yapılıyor. Sonrasında bu nodül, 

değerlendirme sonucuna göre cerrahi yöntemlerle alınıyor 

veya düzenli olarak takip ediliyor. 

3. Düşük Doz Akciğer BT görüntüleme için 

BT cihazlarının teknik donanımı nasıl olmalı? 

Düşük doz akciğer BT’si çekmek için cihazda iki parametre 

büyük bir önem taşıyor. Bunlardan biri mA yani düşük 

tip akımı; diğeri ise kV yani düşük tüp gerilimi. Çekimler, 

genelde mA değeri düşürülerek yapılıyor. Kısmen daha 

az olarak kV değeri de düşürülebiliyor. Bir cihazda, bu iki 

parametrenin düşürülebilmesi çok önemli. Bu özelliğin, her 

cihazda olmasa da son yıllarda geliştirilen cihazlarda genel 

olarak bulunduğunu görüyoruz. 

4. Akciğer biyopsisi hakkında bilgi alabilir miyiz? 

Akciğerde biyopsi yapmak için lezyonun bulunduğu yer 

son derece önemli. Eğer bronşlara yakın ise bronkoskopi 

ile değil ise ciltten bir iğne ile girilerek biyopsi alınabiliyor. 

Ciltten girilecek durumda kılavuz olarak ya BT ya da 

ultrasonografi kullanılıyor. 

5. Özellikle önerdiğiniz veya tercih ettiğiniz bir 

biyopsi metodu var mı? 

Biyopsi metoduna, mevcut lezyona göre karar verilmelidir. 

Ancak ince iğne aspirasyon biyopsisi, deneyimli bir 

uzman tarafından yapılırsa hem teşhis hem de daha ileri 

incelemeler için yeterli örnek sağlayabilir. 

6. Akciğer kanseri evrelemede hangi görüntüleme 

metotları kullanılıyor? 

Genelde rutin olarak akciğer grafisi ve akciğer BT 

çekimi, sonrasında ise PET/BT kullanılıyor. Ancak beyin 

metastazları için beyin MR’ına ihtiyaç duyuluyor. Bazı 

durumlarda, örneğin kanserli hücrelerin böbrek üstü 

bezlere veya karaciğere yayıldığına dair bir kuşku varsa da o 

bölgelere yönelik MR çekimi yapılıyor. 

7. Nodül takibi gibi iş süreçlerinizde yapay zekâ 

tabanlı yazılımların size nasıl yardımcı olacağını 

düşünüyorsunuz? 

Nodül takibinde nodülün hacmini ve dolayısıyla ikiye 

katlanma hızını hesaplayabilen yapay zekâ programları, 

kişisel görüşlerdeki olası farklılıkları ortadan kaldırarak 

kesin teşhis için önemli bir destek sağlıyor. Ayrıca yapay 

zekanın nodülün saptanması için grafi veya BT’de insan 

gözünden kaçabilecek lezyonları saptama açısından da son 

derece yararlı olduğunu düşünüyorum.

We attended the MEDICA International 

Health & Medical Technology Fair 

MEDICA Uluslararası Tıbbi Malzeme ve Teknolojileri Fuarı’na katıldık 

Nüve participated in the Medica Fair held in 

Düsseldorf, Germany on 15-18 November 2021 

MEDICA Fair, which is the largest event organized in the 

health sector in the world, was held online in 2020 due to 

the pandemic. After two years, the participating companies 

met with their visitors in the fair area again. At the fair, 

where approximately 3500 companies participated, 46,000 

visitors from 150 countries had the opportunity to meet 

with the companies personally. Despite the pandemic, the 

number of participants exceeded expectations. 

Nüve exhibited great products from its wide range of 

product at its stand. Nüve, located at stand A31 in Hall 1, 

which was renovated in 2019, attracted the attention and 

appreciation of visitors by exhibiting Incubators, Dry Air 

Sterilizers, Steam Sterilizers, Centrifuges, Water Baths, 

Blood Storage Cabinet, CO2 Incubator and Deep Freezer 

devices. 

Nüve hosted the representatives of the Exporters’ 

Association and its dealers from various countries at its 

Nüve, 15-18 Kasım 2021 tarihlerinde Almanya’nın 

Düsseldorf kentinde gerçekleştirilen Medica 

Fuarı’na katıldı 

Sağlık sektöründe dünyada düzenlenen en büyük etkinlik 

konumunda olan MEDICA Fuarı pandemi nedeniyle 2020 

yılında online olarak gerçekleştirilmişti. İki yılın ardından 

katılımcı firmalar ziyaretçileriyle fuar alanında tekrar 

buluştu. Yaklaşık 3500 firmanın katıldığı fuarda 150 ülkeden 

gelen 46.000 ziyaretçi firmalarla şahsen görüşme fırsatını 

buldu. Pandemiye rağmen katılımcı sayısı beklentilerin 

üzerinde gerçekleşti. 

Nüve, standında geniş ürün grubundan örneklerini 

sergiledi. 2019 yılında yenilenen Hall 1’de A31 numaralı 

standında yer alan Nüve; İnkübatörler, Kuru Havalı 

Sterilizatörler, Buharlı Sterilizatörler, Santrifüjler, Su 

Banyoları, Kan Saklama Dolabı, CO2 İnkübatör ve Derin 

Dondurucu cihazlarını sergileyerek ziyaretçilerin ilgisini ve 

beğenisini aldı.

Dünya AIDS Günü’nde Gilead’dan“Cesurum Hayata” kampanyası 

Toplumdaki HIV farkındalığını artırmayı ve 

toplumun HIV ile ilgili doğru bilgiye erişimine 

katkı sağlamayı amaçlayan “Birlikte HIV’den 

Güçlüyüz” platformu bu yıl Dünya AIDS Günü’nde 

düzenli HIV testinin önemine dikkat çekmek ve 

HIV ile mücadelede cesaret, güç, fedakârlık ve 

azimle çalışanları kutlamak amacıyla “Cesurum 

Hayata” farkındalık kampanyasını başlattı. 

On World AIDS Day this year, the “Together We 

are Stronger Than HIV” platform, which aims 

to raise HIV awareness and improve society’s 

access to accurate HIV information, launched 

the “Fearless for All” awareness campaign to 

highlight the importance of regular HIV testing 

and to celebrate those who work with courage, 

strength, sacrifice, and perseverance in the fight 

against HIV. 

HIV, which first emerged at the turn of the last century and 

caused the deaths of many, has since evolved into a chronic 

infection that can now be treated using the treatment 

methods that have been developed. There is still a lack of 

knowledge and awareness in a large portion of the society 

about HIV and the Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome 

(AIDS) it transforms into if left untreated. As a result, the 

disease is rapidly spreading throughout Turkey and the 

surrounding region. Once the diagnosis is made, however, 

the rates of access to treatment and successful treatment 

outcomes are extremely high in Turkey.

Armağan Çağlayan, Infectious Diseases Specialist Prof. Dr. 

Hayat Kumbasar Karaosmanoğlu from Bakırköy Sadi Konuk 

Geçtiğimiz yüzyılın başlarında ortaya çıkan ve birçok insanın 

hayatını kaybetmesine neden olan HIV, geliştirilen tedavi 

yöntemleri ile günümüzde tedavi edilebilen kronik bir 

enfeksiyon halini aldı. Toplumun çok geniş bir kesiminde 

halen HIV ve tedavi edilmediği takdirde dönüştüğü Edinilmiş 

Bağışıklık Yetmezliği Sendromu (AIDS) ile ilgili yeterli bilgi 

ve farkındalık mevcut değil. Bu yüzden de Türkiye ve içinde 

bulunduğu bölgede hastalık yayılımı hızlı seyrediyor. Oysa 

tanı koyulduğunda, tedaviye erişim ve tedaviden başarılı 

sonuç alma oranları Türkiye’de çok yüksek. 

Toplumdaki HIV farkındalığını artırmayı ve toplumun 

HIV ile ilgili doğru bilgiye erişimine katkı sağlamayı 

amaçlayan “Birlikte HIV’den Güçlüyüz” platformu bu yıl 

Dünya AIDS Günü’nde düzenli HIV testinin önemine dikkat 

çekmek, HIV ile mücadelede cesaret, güç, fedakârlık ve 

azimle çalışanları kutlamak amacıyla “Cesurum Hayata” 

farkındalık kampanyasını başlattı. 

Kampanya kapsamında hazırlanan “Cesurum Hayata” 

temalı videolarda yer alan; Armağan Çağlayan, Bakırköy 

Sadi Konuk Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi Enfeksiyon 

Uzmanı Prof. Dr. Hayat Kumbasar Karaosmanoğlu, Pozitif- 

İz Derneği Kurucu Üyesi Çiğdem Şimşek ve Pozitif Yaşam 

Derneği Sosyal Hizmet Uzmanı Mehmetcan Yazıcıoğlu 

kendi hayatlarındaki cesaret hikayelerinden yola çıkarak 

izleyicilere ‘Sen de cesurum hayata de ve en ufak bir 

şüphen varsa HIV testini yaptırmayı ihmal etme’ mesajını 

vererek, HIV yayılımını durdurmak için HIV testi yaptırmanın 

önemine dikkat çektiler. 

Cesurum Hayata kampanyasının tanıtımı nedeniyle 

düzenlenen toplantının açılışında konuşan Gilead Türkiye 

Genel Müdürü Şebnem Girgin şunları söyledi: 

“Gilead, HIV alanında geliştirdiği ilaçlar ile HIV 

enfeksiyonunu çaresiz bir hastalık olmaktan çıkartıp, 

kronik bir sağlık durumuna dönüştürmeyi başardı. 33 yıldır 

dünyada HIV ile yaşayan insanların sağlıklı bir şekilde 

hayatlarını sürdürebilmeleri için tedaviler geliştiriyor.

Positive-İz Association Çiğdem Şimşek and Positive Living 

Association Social Worker Mehmetcan Yazıcıoğlu took part 

in the “Fearless for All” videos prepared within the scope of 

the campaign. Setting out from the stories of fearlessness 

in their own lives, they gave the message, “Be fearless and 

if you have the slightest doubt, make sure you get tested 

for HIV”, drawing attention to the importance of HIV 

testing to stop the spread of HIV. 

Gilead Turkey General Manager Şebnem Girgin, who 

spoke at the opening of the meeting held to promote the 

Fearless for All campaign, said: 

“Gilead has succeeded in transforming HIV infection from a 

deadly disease to a chronic health condition, with therapies 

it developed in this area. For 33 years, Gilead has been 

developing therapies to help people living with HIV around 

the world live healthy lives. Gilead carries out awarenessraising 

campaigns with CSOs, governments, and health 

authorities all over the world so that PLHIV can live better 

lives. 

We also supported a survey in Turkey in 2017. According to 

this survey conducted by Baskent University and Hacettepe 

University, three out of every four people in Turkey are 

unaware of HIV. 75% of the respondents did not know that 

people living with HIV can lead a healthy life like everyone 

else. This gave us a new responsibility, and three years 

ago we launched the “Together We Are Stronger Than 

HIV” platform. We believed that by collaborating with 

physicians, medical societies, valuable CSO representatives, 

the public sector, and the media, we might make a 

difference in society. 

We launched the “My Greatest Affection” campaign within 

the scope of this platform with Nihat Odabaşı and 14 

celebrity volunteers. Tankurt Manas, a rapper, released a 

song called TEST last year, in which he encouraged those 

who feared they had HIV to get tested. This year, we are 

launching the ‘Fearless for All’ campaign. 

With the Fearless for All project, we hope to raise HIV 

awareness while also highlighting the struggles of 

physicians and civil society representatives who have 

been working bravely in the field of HIV for years, and 

applauding their courage by making their voices heard 

across society. Our goal is for their stories to inspire all of 

us and encourage the audience to get tested.” 

World AIDS Day Panel 

On the night of the launch, a panel was organized with 

the involvement of all organizations and stakeholders 

supporting the campaign, moderated by Armağan 

Çağlayan. Head of Infectious Diseases Department Prof. 

Dr. Serhat Ünal from Hacettepe University Faculty of 

Medicine, Infectious Diseases Specialist Prof. Dr. Volkan 

Korten from Marmara University Faculty of Medicine, 

Pozitif-İz Association Chairman of the Board Önder Bora, 

and Positive Living Association Board Member Canberk 

Harmancı joined as panelists.

Dünyanın her yerinde STK’larla, devletlerle, sağlık 

kurumlarıyla birlikte HIV ile enfekte kişilerin hayatlarını 

daha iyi devam ettirebilmesi için bilinçlendirme ve 

farkındalık kampanyaları yürütüyor. 

Biz de Türkiye’de 2017 yılında bir kamuoyu araştırmasına 

destek verdik. Başkent Üniversitesi ve Hacettepe 

Üniversitesi’nin birlikte yürüttüğü araştırma sonunda 

Türkiye’de yaşayan her 4 kişiden 3’ünün HIV ile ilgili 

bilgi sahibi olmadığını anladık. Araştırmaya katılanların 

%75’i HIV ile yaşayan kişilerin herkes gibi sağlıklı bir 

yaşam sürebileceğini bilmiyordu. Bu durum bize bir 

sorumluluk daha yükledi ve 3 yıl önce “Birlikte HIV’den 

Güçlüyüz” platformunu kurduk. Hekimlerimizle, hekim 

derneklerimizle, STK’ların değerli temsilcileriyle, kamu 

ve medya ile birlikte yürürsek toplumda fark yaratırız diye 

düşündük. 

Bu platform çatısı altında önce Nihat Odabaşı ile 14 

ünlü gönüllüyü de içine alarak “En büyük Hastalığım’ 

kampanyasını lanse ettik. Geçen yıl da RAP sanatçısı Tankut 

Manas TEST adında bir şarkı besteledi ve HIV şüphesi 

olanları test yaptırmaya davet etti. Bu yıl da ‘Cesurum 

Hayata” kampanyasını hayata geçiriyoruz. 

Cesurum Hayata projesi ile, HIV konusunda toplumsal 

farkındalığı artırırken, aynı zamanda yıllardır HIV 

alanında cesaretle çalışan hekimlerimizin ve sivil toplum 

temsilcilerinin mücadelelerine dikkati çekmek, onların 

sesini tüm topluma duyurarak gösterdikleri cesareti birlikte 

alkışlamak istiyoruz. Onların hikayelerinin hepimize cesaret 

vermesini ve izleyenleri test yaptırmaya yönlendirmesini 

hedefliyoruz.” 

Dünya AIDS Günü Paneli 

Kampanyaya destek veren tüm kurum ve paydaşların 

katılımıyla gerçekleşen lansman gecesinde Armağan 

Çağlayan’ın moderatörlüğünde bir de panel yapıldı. Panele 

konuşmacı olarak Hacettepe Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi 

Enfeksiyon Hastalıkları Ana Bilim Dalı Başkanı

Diseases Clinical Microbiology Department pointed out that 

the society does not know enough about this infection and 

said: 

“HIV is a virus. When it infects a person, it collapses their 

defense system. If it is not diagnosed and treated in time, 

it can progress. AIDS is the last stage of this disease. With 

proper diagnosis, follow-up, and treatment, HIV infection 

is no longer deadly. It has now become a chronic disease. 

However, there is fear-based ignorance and prejudice. 

The biggest problem is the lack of awareness. If there was 

enough awareness in society, people would get tested 

themselves when they engage in risky behavior. No one 

is exempt from HIV. Anyone can get infected. Referring 

people to get tested and diagnosed is critical in terms of 

infection control, especially during the pandemic.” 

“If there are 100 people living with HIV in the society, the 

goal is to diagnose 95 percent of them,” said Infectious 

Diseases Specialist Prof. Dr. Volkan Korten of Marmara 

University Faculty of Medicine. The European average 

is around 50%, and 80% in developed countries. In our 

case, it is around 40%. This poses a problem in the fight 

against HIV. We can’t diagnose enough people because the 

tests aren’t well-coordinated. This is our main problem. In 

Turkey, once the diagnosis is made, we have the means to 

access treatment and monitor our patients. The biggest 

problem in our country is that we cannot identify those 

who are infected. People are afraid of getting tested. The 

most important reason is that we lack an organization 

for systematic screening. To reduce transmission in the 

community, we must increase our diagnosis rate and 

treat those who are diagnosed. We need to broaden and 

reinforce our testing policies to achieve this, particularly for 

key populations,” he said. 

Önder Bora, Chairman of the Pozitif-iz Association, said: 

“In our country, HIV tests are performed in all health 

facilities. In Istanbul and a few other cities, you can get an 

HIV test anonymously at voluntary counseling and testing 

centers. When you get an HIV test at one of these centers, 

you don’t have to give your name or ID number. If the test 

result is positive, it is reported to the Ministry of Health 

with a code. Diagnosing HIV is very important. Because HIV 

is an infection that can be managed with treatment. It can, 

however, have serious consequences if it is not diagnosed 

and treated. No one should be afraid of getting tested. 

It is critical for everyone to get tested if they have any 

suspicions. People living with HIV can now live a healthy 

and long life, just like everyone else, thanks to effective 

treatment options. They can work, get married, and have 

uninfected babies. They continue to exist in all aspects of 

life.” 

Canberk Harmancı, Board Member of the Positive Living 

Association, said: 

“In Turkey, eight million HIV tests are performed each year, 

but these tests should be given to people aged 18 to 45 

who have an active sexual life.” Any unprotected sexual

Ünal, toplumun bu enfeksiyonu yeterince tanımadığına 

dikkat çekerek, şunları söyledi: 

“HIV bir virüstür. İnsana bulaştığı zaman savunma 

sistemini çökertir. Zamanında tanı konulmamışsa, tedavi 

edilmemişse ilerleyebilir. AIDS bu hastalığın son evresidir. 

Doğru tanı, takip ve tedaviyle HIV enfeksiyonu ölümcül 

olmaktan çıkmıştır. Artık kronik bir hastalık halini almıştır. 

Ancak korkudan gelen bir bilgisizlik ve önyargı var. En 

önemli sorun farkındalığın az olması. Toplumda yeterli 

farkındalık olsa, kişilerin şüpheli davranışları olduğunda 

kendileri de test yaptırabilirler. HIV’den muaf kimse yoktur. 

Herkese bulaşabilir. Özellikle pandemi döneminde insanları 

test yapmaya yönlendirmek ve tanı almalarını sağlamak 

enfeksiyonun kontrolünde kritik öneme sahip.” 

Marmara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Enfeksiyon Hastalıkları 

Uzmanı Prof. Dr. Volkan Korten ise “Toplumda HIV ile 

yaşayan 100 kişi varsa, bunun % 95’inin tanı alması 

hedefleniyor. Avrupa ortalaması % 50’lerde, gelişmiş 

ülkelerde % 80’lerde. Bizde ise bu aran % 40’larda. Bu 

da HIV ile mücadele açısından bir sıkıntı teşkil ediyor. 

Testler çok koordineli yapılamadığı için yeterince kişiye tanı 

koyamıyoruz. Bizim asıl problemimiz bu. Türkiye’de bir kez 

tanı aldıktan sonra tedaviye erişim ve izlem altında tutma 

olanaklarına sahibiz. Ülkemizin en büyük sorun enfekte

korkuyor. En önemli nedeni de sistematik bir tarama 

organizasyonuna sahip olmamamız. Toplumda bulaşı 

azaltmak için mutlaka tanı koyabilme yüzdemizi arttırmamız 

ve bu kişileri tedavi altına almamız gerekli. Bunun için de 

başta anahtar gruplara yönelik olmak üzere test politikamızı 

genişletmeli ve güçlendirmeliyiz’’ dedi. 

Pozitif-iz Derneği Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Önder Bora, 

şöyle konuştu: 

“Ülkemizde tüm sağlık kurumlarında HIV testi yapılıyor. 

İstanbul’da ve birkaç şehirde daha bulunan gönüllü 

danışmanlık ve test merkezlerinde ise anonim olarak 

HIV testi yaptırabiliyorsunuz. Bu merkezlerde HIV testi 

yaptırdığınızda isim veya T.C. kimlik numarası vermek 

zorunda değilsiniz. Tanı pozitif çıkarsa bu bir kodla Sağlık 

Bakanlığı’na bildiriliyor. HIV tanısı almak çok önemli. Çünkü 

HIV, tedavisi olan bir enfeksiyon. Ancak tanı alınmadığı ve 

tedavi edilmediği zaman ağır sonuçları olabiliyor. Hiç kimse 

test yaptırmaktan çekinmesin diyoruz. Şüpheli durumlarda 

herkesin test yaptırması çok önemli. Günümüzde başarılı 

ilaç seçenekleri sayesinde HIV ile yaşayan kişiler herkes 

gibi sağlıklı ve uzun bir ömür sürdürebiliyor. Çalışabiliyor, 

evlenebiliyor ve enfekte olmayan bebek sahibi olabiliyor. 

Hayatın her alanında var olmaya devam edebiliyorlar.”

you to HIV. Today, our weakest point in terms of HIV is 

that people who are unaware of or misunderstand the 

risk of infection are more likely to disregard protection. 

Those who have been diagnosed with HIV may contact 

us via the internet or with the help of a physician. Those 

who find out they have HIV are at risk of developing posttraumatic 

stress disorder. We offer them our best support. 

However, treatment protocols must also include psychosocial 

support. Getting diagnosed and receiving the right 

treatment will be the key to living healthy without having 

to change your life.” 

Armağan Çağlayan tested guests ‘how fearless 

are you?’ 

The evening continued with Armağan Çağlayan’s ‘How 

fearless are you?’ test which he conducted with the 

physicians and representatives from CSOs. Head of 

Infections Diseases Department Prof. Dr. Fehmi Tabak

“Türkiye’de yılda 8 milyon HIV testi yapılıyor ama bu 

testlerin 18-45 yaş arası aktif cinsel hayatı olan kişilere 

yapılması lazım. Partnerinizin kim olduğunun bir 

önemi olmaksızın korunmasız tüm cinsel ilişkiler HIV 

ile karşılaşmanıza neden olabilir. Bugün HIV’e dair en 

zayıf noktamız enfeksiyonla karşılaşma riskini bilmeyen 

veya yanlış bilen bireylerin korunmayı kolayca ihmal 

etmesi. HIV tanısı alanlar bazen internetten bazen de 

hekimlerin yönlendirmesiyle bize başvuruyor. HIV olduğunu 

öğrenenler travma sonrası stres bozukluğu yaşayabiliyor. 

Biz onlara elimizden gelen desteği sunuyoruz. Ancak 

tedavi protokollerinin psiko-sosyal desteği de içermesi

According to Turkey Health Trends 2021 of Philips 

research, the star of the pandemic is digital 

health technologies. 

According to the research, there is an increase in the 

number of people who are not satisfied with their current 

health status. While 79 percent of the public rated their 

current health status as “good”, this figure was 89 percent 

in 2019. 

The number of people who want to be examined by 

communicating with their doctor remotely in simple 

diseases has increased with the pandemic period. The 

figure, which was 38 percent in 2019, increased significantly 

to 61 percent this year. 

With Covid-19, the healthcare system has gone beyond the 

borders of the hospital. While the rate of those who said “I 

would prefer to be taken care of at home when possible” 

was 37 percent, this rate almost doubled to 62 percent in 

2021. 

The results of the ‘Health Trends Survey in Turkey’, which 

Philips Turkey carried out for the third time this year in 

cooperation with IPSOS, compared with other years, with 

the participation of Haluk Karabatak, CEO of Philips Turkey, 

Sibel Yıldız, Philips Country Leader Personal Health Turkey 

& Head of Consumer Marketing Middle East, Turkey & Africa 

Personal Health, was announced at the press conference 

moderated by Dr. Fatoş Karahasan. At the meeting, General 

Surgery Specialist Prof. Dr. Murat Aksoy and Sema Pak 

Karaca, Senior Research Manager at Ipsos Türkiye also took 

part. 

Commenting on the research, Haluk Karabatak, CEO, Philips 

Turkey said; “In this research, in which we shed light on 

the changing health trends and habits with Covid-19 in 

Turkey, we see that the pandemic has seriously changed 

the health perception of the society. The health sector 

is a sector where changes and transformations are slow 

compared to other sectors. With Covid-19, the digitalization 

process in the health sector has accelerated. Research also 

sheds light on this change. As Philips, we are one of the

Araştırmaya göre mevcut sağlık durumundan memnun

bu rakam 2019 yılında yüzde 89’du. 

Basit hastalıklarda doktoruyla uzaktan iletişime geçerek 

muayene olmak isteyenlerin sayısında pandemi dönemiyle 

birlikte artış yaşandı. 2019’da yüzde 38 olan rakam, bu yıl

Covid-19 ile sağlık sistemi hastane sınırlarının ötesine geçti. 

“Hastalandığımda eğer mümkünse evde bakılmayı tercih 

ederim” diyenlerin oranı yüzde 37 iken 2021 yılında bu oran 

neredeyse iki kat artarak yüzde 62’ye yükseldi.

gerçekleştirdiği ‘Türkiye Sağlık Trendleri Araştırması’nın 

sonuçları, diğer yıllarla karşılaştırmalı olarak Philips

findings of the research is the increase in public awareness 

about healthy living and taking precautions with Covid-19. 

In this context, we see that people take control of their 

own health in order to lead a healthier and higher quality 

life. We think that this trend is not unique to this period. 

Sensitivity and awareness about personal health solutions 

will continue to increase in the upcoming period. We 

also offer personalized solutions that support a healthier 

lifestyle with our personal health solutions.” 

General Surgery Specialist Prof. Dr. Murat Aksoy also 

expressed his views by emphasizing that the pandemic 

has transformed health services into a service without a 

place, he said, “According to the findings of the research, 

the pandemic seems to have changed our perception of 

health. We observe that both the awareness and the desire 

to access health services are increasing. Digitalization has 

made this process easier for both the patient and us. In 

addition, the research shows us that people’s awareness 

of dental health and sleep has increased significantly, 

two issues that have been ignored in general health until 

today.” 

In the Health Trends Survey, the prominent 

results of the changing trends with Covid-19 in 

Turkey on healthy living, prevention, diagnosis, 

treatment and home care, which are called the 

“Health Cycle”: 

8 out of 10 people are worried about their health 

While the rate of those who are satisfied with their current 

health status was 89 percent in the research conducted 

in 2019, this rate was determined as 79 percent in the 

new research. According to the research, 8 out of 10 

people started to feel anxious about their health with the 

pandemic period. This anxiety caused them to act more 

consciously about the health of both themselves and their 

families. While 89 percent of the respondents stated that 

they paid more attention to the health of themselves and 

their families during the pandemic, 72 percent announced 

that they acquired more healthy living habits during 

this period. Opinion leaders also expressed that they 

understand the importance of people following their own 

health during the pandemic period. Opinion leaders state 

that there are many important elements that need to be 

changed in the health habits of the society. 

Awareness in health started with ‘weight’ 

60 percent of those who participated in the study stated 

that they gained weight during the epidemic. When the 

Health Trends Survey was conducted in 2019, the rate of 

those who were satisfied with their weight was determined 

as 83 percent. This year, the proportion of those who are 

satisfied with their weight is 45 percent, with a dramatic 

decrease. According to opinion leaders, sedentary life and 

weight gain during the closure period negatively affected 

the course of chronic diseases.

Genel Cerrahi Uzmanı Prof. Dr. Murat Aksoy da görüşlerini 

pandeminin sağlık hizmetlerini mekansız bir hizmete 

dönüştürdüğüne vurgu yaparak dile getirdi: “Araştırmanın 

bulgularına göre pandemi sağlık algımızı değiştirmiş gibi 

duruyor. Hem farkındalığın hem de sağlık hizmetlerine 

erişim isteğinin arttığını gözlemliyoruz. Dijitalleşme hem 

hasta hem de bizler için bu süreci kolaylaştırdı. Bunun 

yanı sıra araştırma bize insanların bugüne kadar genel 

sağlık konusunda göz ardı ettiği iki konu olan diş sağlığı ve 

uyku alanlarında da farkındalığının ciddi oranda arttığını 

gösteriyor.” 

Sağlık Trendleri Araştırması’nda, “Sağlık 

Döngüsü” olarak adlandırılan sağlıklı yaşam, 

önlem alma, teşhis, tedavi ve evde bakım 

konularında Türkiye’de Covid-19 ile değişen 

trendlerden öne çıkan sonuçlar: 

Her 10 kişiden 8’i sağlığından endişeli 

2019 yılında yapılan araştırmada mevcut sağlık durumundan 

memnun olanların oranı yüzde 89 iken, bu oran yeni 

araştırmada yüzde 79 olarak belirlendi. Araştırmaya göre, 

her 10 kişiden 8’i pandemi dönemi ile sağlık konusunda 

kaygılı hissetmeye başladı.

Personal care habits continued at home 

The effect of the pandemic was also felt in personal care 

habits. One out of every 3 people participating in the study 

stated that personal care habits at home increased during 

the pandemic period. More than half of these people think 

that they will continue their personal care routines at home 

after the pandemic. 

Increased awareness of dental health 

One of the interesting results of the research is about 

dental health. While the rate of those who did not go to a 

dentist in the last 1 year in 2019 was 42 percent, this rate 

decreased to 37 percent in 2021. While 80 percent of the 

public stated that oral and dental health is associated with 

general health, 58 percent think that oral and dental health 

is related to heart health. 

Routine health checks were disrupted during the 

pandemic period. 

According to the results of the Health Trends Survey, there 

was a decrease in the number of doctors and hospital 

admissions. While this rate was around 55 percent in 

2019, it became 43 percent this year. 46 percent of the 

participants said that they could not continue their routine 

health checks during the pandemic period. 63 percent 

stated that although they wanted to go to the doctor due 

to health problems, they could not go due to the pandemic. 

While those who said “I would go to the hospital/specialist 

doctor immediately” for daily ailments that do not require 

emergency intervention, decreased from 34 percent in 

2019 to 18 percent in 2021. 

The rate of those who went to the doctor for 

heart health increased 

The research underlines that hospital/doctor controls are 

not disrupted when it comes to heart health. Compared to 

2019, the number of people who go to regular checkups 

for heart health has doubled. The rate of those who had 

their child’s heart health checks regularly increased from 16 

percent in 2019 to 27 percent in 2021. 

Star of the pandemic: digital health technologies 

The number of people who want to be examined by 

communicating with their doctor remotely in simple 

diseases has increased with the pandemic period. The 

figure, which was 38 percent in 2019, increased significantly 

to 61 percent this year. The rate of participants who think 

that the virtual meetings with the doctor on telehealth 

services will be as efficient/quality as the face-to-face 

examination. Opinion leaders state that the society’s 

awareness of the opportunities offered by digital health 

technologies has increased during the pandemic period. 

Opinion leaders also pointed out that there has been an 

increase in the interest in consultation, online consultation 

and therapy services, online appointment and health data 

systems for physicians via mobile messaging applications. 

In this context, it was stated that digital health services 

will have very positive contributions to the sector and will 

significantly reduce the burden in hospitals. In this way, it 

is stated that a faster, more accurate, earlier diagnosis can 

be made, the treatment process can be followed, and it 

will prevent time loss; It was also pointed out that the data

de pandemi döneminde kişilerin kendi sağlıklarını takip 

etmelerinin önemini anladığını dile getirdi. Fikir önderleri 

toplumun sağlık alışkanlıklarında değiştirilmesi gereken 

birçok önemi unsur olduğunu belirtiyor. 

Sağlıkta farkındalık, ‘kilo’dan başladı 

Araştırmaya katılanların yüzde 60’ı salgın döneminde kilo 

aldığını dile getiriyor. Sağlık Trendleri Araştırması 2019’da 

yapıldığında kilosundan memnun olanların oranı yüzde 83 

olarak belirlenmişti. Bu yıl çarpıcı bir düşüşle kilosundan 

memnun olanların oranının yüzde 45 olduğu görüldü. Fikir 

önderlerine göre kapanma dönemlerindeki hareketsiz 

yaşam ve kilo alımı kronik hastalıkların seyrini olumsuz 

etkiledi. 

Kişisel bakım alışkanlıkları evde devam etti 

Pandeminin etkisi kişisel bakım alışkanlıklarında da 

hissedildi. Araştırmaya katılan her 3 kişiden biri, pandemi 

döneminde evde kişisel bakım alışkanlıklarının arttığını dile 

getirdi. Bu kişilerin yarısından fazlası pandemi sonrası da 

evde kişisel bakım rutinlerine devam edeceği görüşünde. 

Diş sağlığı konusunda farkındalık arttı 

Araştırmanın ilgi çekici sonuçlarından biri de diş sağlığı 

konusunda. 2019 yılında son 1 yıl içerisinde hiç diş 

hekimine gitmeyenlerin oranı yüzde 42 iken, bu oran 2021 

yılında yüzde 37’ye geriledi. Kamuoyunun yüzde 80’i ağız 

ve diş sağlığının genel sağlık durumu ile ilişkili olduğunu 

belirtirken, yüzde 58’i ağız ve diş sağlığının kalp sağlığı ile 

ilişkili olduğunu düşünüyor. 

Pandemi döneminde rutin sağlık kontrolleri 

aksadı 

Sağlık Trendleri Araştırması’nın sonuçlarına göre, doktor 

ve hastaneye başvuranların sayısında azalma görüldü. Bu 

oran 2019’da yüzde 55’ler seviyesindeyken, bu sene yüzde 

43 oldu. Katılımcıların yüzde 46’sı pandemi döneminde rutin 

sağlık kontrollerine devam edemediğini söyledi. Yüzde 63 

ise sağlık problemleri nedeniyle doktora gitmek istese de 

pandemi nedeniyle gidemediğini belirtti. Acil müdahaleyi 

gerektirmeyen günlük yaşanabilecek rahatsızlıklarda 

“hemen hastaneye/uzman doktora giderim” diyenler 

2019’da yüzde 34 iken, 2021’de yüzde 18’e geriledi. 

Kalp sağlığı için doktora gidenlerin oranı arttı 

Araştırma kalp sağlığı söz konusu olduğunda hastane/ 

doktor kontrollerinin aksatılmadığının altını çiziyor. Kalp 

sağlığı konusunda düzenli olarak kontrole gidenlerin 

sayısında 2019’a göre göre iki kat artış görüldü. Çocuğunun 

kalp sağlığı kontrollerini düzenli olarak yaptıranların oranı 

da 2019’da yüzde 16 iken 2021’de yüzde 27’ye çıktı.

accumulated in the digital environment will facilitate the 

scientific examination of diseases. 

Artificial intelligence will play a supporting role 

in the decision processes of doctors 

According to opinion leaders, the biggest contributions of 

artificial intelligence technologies to the health sector have 

been to make sense of doctors’ workflows, reduce their 

workload and reduce the margin of error. Opinion leaders 

think that artificial intelligence is not widely used in the 

Turkish health sector yet, but it can be easily adopted. 

Covid-19 changed preferences: Health system 

beyond hospital borders 

The rate of those who said “I prefer to be cared for at 

home when possible” increased from 37 percent in 2019 

to 62 percent in 2021, nearly doubling. Most of the opinion 

leaders state that, contrary to the views in the 2019 study, 

Turkey has reached a very good point, although there is still 

a long way to go in this regard. Home care, which stands 

out as it reduces the workload of doctors and hospitals, 

makes room for emergency patients, reduces the risk of 

hospital virus, and provides great convenience especially 

for those living alone, is one of the interesting areas of 

research. 

RESEARCH IDENTIFICATION 

Turkey Health Trends Survey 2021 was conducted in 

cooperation with Philips and IPSOS to identify the trends 

in the changing health field in Turkey with Covid-19, to 

measure the level of public awareness about health and 

to determine the relationship between technology and 

health. Turkey Health Trends Report has been prepared 

according to the results of the research conducted with 

1278 men and women aged 15-64 in 12 provinces*. In the 

qualitative research, on the other hand, in-depth interviews 

were conducted with 27 different stakeholders in the 

opinion leaders group over the phone and online platform. 

* İstanbul, Ankara, İzmir, Adana, Bursa, Balıkesir, Erzurum, 

Gaziantep, Kayseri, Malatya, Samsun, Trabzon.

toplumun pandemi döneminde farkındalığının arttığını 

belirtiyor. Fikir önderleri, ayrıca, hekimlere mobil 

mesajlaşma uygulamaları üzerinden danışma, online 

konsültasyon ve terapi hizmetleri, online randevu ve sağlık

dikkat çekildi. 

Yapay zeka doktorların karar süreçlerinde 

destekleyici bir rol üstlenecek 

Fikir önderlerine göre, yapay zeka teknolojilerinin sağlık 

sektörüne en büyük katkıları doktorların iş akışlarını 

anlamlandırmak, iş yükünü azaltmak ve hata payını 

düşürmek oldu. Fikir önderleri Türkiye sağlık sektöründe 

yapay zekanın henüz yaygın bir şekilde kullanılmadığını 

ancak kolaylıkla benimsenebileceğini düşünüyor. 

Covid-19 tercihleri değiştirdi: Hastane sınırları 

ötesinde sağlık sistemi 

“Hastalandığımda eğer mümkünse evde bakılmayı tercih 

ederim” diyenlerin oranı 2019 yılında yüzde 37 iken 2021 

yılında yüzde 62’ye yükselerek yaklaşık iki kat arttı. Fikir 

önderlerinin çoğu, 2019 çalışmasındaki görüşlerin aksine, 

Türkiye’de bu konuda alınacak daha yol olsa da oldukça iyi 

bir noktaya gelindiğini belirtiyor. Doktorların ve hastanelerin 

iş yükünü azaltması, acil hastalara yer açması, hastane 

virüsü riskini düşürmesi ve özellikle yalnız yaşayanlar 

için büyük kolaylık sağlamasıyla öne çıkan evde bakım da 

araştırmanın ilgi çekici alanlarından biri. 

ARAŞTIRMA KÜNYESİ 

Türkiye Sağlık Trendleri Araştırması 2021, Türkiye’de 

Covid-19 ile birlikte değişen sağlık alanındaki trendleri 

tespit etmek, kamunun sağlık konusundaki farkındalık 

düzeyini ölçümleyerek teknoloji ve sağlık arasındaki ilişkiyi 

belirlemek için Philips ve IPSOS iş birliğiyle yapılmıştır. 

Türkiye Sağlık Trendleri Raporu, 12 ilde* 15-64 yaş grubu 

toplam 1278 kadın ve erkekle gerçekleştirilen araştırma 

sonuçlarına göre hazırlanmıştır. Kalitatif araştırmada ise 

fikir önderleri grubunda 27 farklı paydaş ile telefon ve online 

platformda derinlemesine görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir.

Op. Dr. Mehmet Söyler, Libya’ya ülkedeki sağlık 

sektörünü incelemek ve Trablus Uluslararası 

Oftalmoloji Konferansı’na katılmak için kapsamlı 

bir ziyaret gerçekleştirdi.

visit to Libya to examine the health sector in the 

country and to attend the Tripoli International 

Ophthalmology Conference. 

Söyler attended the conference as a speaker 

Mehmet Söyler, MD, attended the Tripoli International 

Ophthalmology Conference held in Libya as a speaker. In 

his opening speech at the conference, which was attended 

by approximately 200 guests, Söyler emphasized the 

friendship between Turkey and Libya. As a speaker at the 

conference, Söyler shared information on two subjects 

titled “The Stitching and Fixation Technique of Intraocular 

Lenses” and “Management of Difficult Cataract Cases”. 

Hospital and clinic visits were carried out 

After the conference, Söyler visited private and state 

hospitals in Libya and made on-site inspections, and also 

held meetings with private clinics and insurance companies. 

Underlining that it is very important to examine both 

potential investments in the future and the health systems 

in different countries, Söyler said, “Batigöz is a growthoriented 

health group that continues its domestic and 

international investments rapidly. We started to realize this 

growth target by providing services in areas other than eye 

health and diseases branch. 

Now, we aim to touch the lives of people all over the world 

by increasing the number of our centers. For this purpose, 

it is of great importance to visit different countries and 

examine the health systems there.”

bulunan Söyler, “Göz İçi Lenslerin Dikişi ve Sabitleme 

Tekniği” ve “Zorlu Katarakt Vakalarının Yönetimi” başlıklı iki 

konuşma gerçekleştirdi. 

Hastane ve klinik ziyaretleri gerçekleştirildi 

Konferans sonrasında Libya’daki özel hastaneleri ve devlet 

hastanelerini gezerek yerinde incelemelerde bulunan 

Söyler, ayrıca özel klinikler ve sigorta şirketleri ile de 

görüşmeler gerçekleştirdi. 

Hem gelecekteki potansiyel yatırımlar hem de farklı 

ülkelerdeki sağlık sistemlerini incelemenin çok önemli 

olduğunun altını çizen Söyler, “Batıgöz, yurt içi ve dışı 

yatırımlarına hızla devam eden ve büyüme odaklı bir 

sağlık grubu. Bu büyüme hedefini, öncelikle göz sağlığı ve 

hastalıkları branşının dışındaki alanlarda da hizmet vererek 

gerçekleştirmeye başlamıştık. Şimdi ise merkez sayımızı 

artırarak dünyanın dört bir yanındaki insanların hayatlarına 

dokunmayı hedefliyoruz. Bu hedefimiz için de farklı ülkeleri 

ziyaret ederek buralardaki sağlık sistemlerini incelemek 

büyük önem taşıyor.” dedi.

Signal of contribution to health tourism by collaborative 

work Having the opportunity to make observations and 

research on health tourism, Söyler, MD, underlined those 

joint studies can be carried out with eye hospitals and 

clinics to be determined as partners. 

Stating that Turkey has made a great progress in terms of 

health tourism, Söyler, MD, said, “Many patients abroad 

prefer Turkey for treatment and surgical operation thanks 

to quality doctors and advanced healthcare system. Of 

course, this situation significantly increases the rate of 

health tourism in Turkey. It is very important for us as 

Batıgöz to maintain and contribute to this success.” 

Indicating on joint work and cooperation, Söyler said, 

“We gained a lot of information about Libya’s health 

system through our visits and meetings. Of course, we 

will evaluate them and discuss partnered studies or 

collaborations.”

equipments, planted 10 thousand saplings of pine 

trees in Akyurt District of Ankara for the martyrs 

of health.

Chamber of Commerce, Mehmet Nurettin Özdebir, 

President of the Ankara Chamber of Industry, Fatin 

Dağçınar, President of Medical Industry Cluster, and officials 

of Health Industry Employers’ Association of Turkey and All 

Medical Device Manufacturers and Supplier Associations 

Federation attended the sapling planting ceremony held 

under the leadership of Yılmaz Salık and Murat Cantekin 

from the top management of Mixta Medical. 

Yılmaz Salık, General Manager of Mixta Medical emphasized 

that the importance of health workers has increased even 

more during the pandemic process. Salık said, “We convey 

our honor to welcome you here today and thank you again. 

Of course, our aim on this path that we started 14 years 

ago was commercial gains. However, those who know me 

closely know that they have the opportunity to talk about 

my world of ideas and thoughts; Like my valuable partner, 

I realized in a very short time that social gains are more 

important than individual gains. 

When I think about what is lacking in underdeveloped 

societies compared to developed societies,

sağlık çalışanlarının öneminin daha da arttığını vurguladı. 

Salık şöyle devam etti: “Bugün sizleri burada ağırlıyor 

olmaktan duyduğumuz onuru buradan sizlere iletiyor ve 

tekraren teşekkürlerimizi sunuyoruz. 

Bundan 14 yıl önce çıktığımız bu yolda amacımız elbetteki 

ticari kazançlardı. Ancak şahsımı yakından tanıyanlar fikir 

ve düşünce dünyamı konuşma fırsatı bulduklarım bilirler 

ki; kıymetli ortağım gibi ben de bireysel değil toplumsal 

kazançların daha önemli olduğunu çok kısa sürede fark 

ettik. 

Gelişemeyen toplumlarda gelişmiş toplumlara kıyasla 

ne eksik diye düşündüğümde bazı tespitlerim ve adalet 

konusunda bazı soru işaretlerim var.

I have some observations and some question marks about 

justice. 

I think that individuals are lacking in sharing their income, 

knowledge and experience. However, I think that with 

these shares, a fairer, happier and more livable world will 

exist. I see, taste and think that the important thing is to 

be able to share rather than being superior. 

From time to time, we forget to share what exists, we 

forget to smile. The world and the cruel commercial life 

are pulling us away from our thoughts, ideologies and 

values that we defend. 

So that; never mind the securities and knowledge, we 

even forget to share our smiles. We forget to thank those 

who have done a job with their hard work. We forget to 

share our happiness with those who strive and work for 

us, for the society. However, everyone puts a lot of effort 

to do their part better. 

They give so much of their lives while working! Sometimes, 

unfortunately, they give their lives as we lived in İncek. 

Like many healthcare professionals in the last period we 

live in. 

Today we planted 10,000 saplings in Akyurt. We wanted to 

raise awareness with this forest. Both to nature, to which 

we owe everything we have earned, and to the value 

produced by those who labor at the expense of their lives. 

We wanted to remind the people of the group, even if 

they are gone and lost and we cannot count their names. 

That’s why we named it Mixta Health Martyrs Memorial 

Forest. 

We hope that we will not forget those who worked for 

us and we can always thank them, and we hope that our 

thanks will reach our martyrs. 

Bireylerin kazançları olan menkulleri, bilgiyi ve tecrübeyi 

paylaşmaları konusunda eksik kaldıkları düşüncesindeyim. 

Ancak bu paylaşımlar ile daha adil, daha mutlu ve daha 

yaşanası bir dünyanın var olacağını düşünüyorum. Önemli 

olanın üstün olmaktan ziyade, paylaşabilmek olduğunu 

görüyor, tadıyor ve düşünüyorum. 

Zaman zaman var olanı paylaşmayı, tebessüm 

etmeyi unutuyoruz. Dünya ve acımasız ticari hayat 

bizi uzaklaştırıyor benliğimizdeki düşüncelerimizden, 

ideolojilerimizden ve savunduğumuz değerlerden. 

Öyle ki; bırakın menkul değerleri, bilgi birikimini, 

gülümsememizi paylaşmayı unutuyoruz. Emek vererek 

ortaya iş çıkarmışlara teşekkür etmeyi unutuyoruz. 

Bizler için, toplum için çabalayan ve çalışanlara karşı 

mutluluğumuzu paylaşmayı unutuyoruz. Oysa ki herkes 

üzerine düşeni en iyi şekilde yapabilmek adına ne denli 

büyük emek veriyor. 

Emek verirken o denli hayatlarından veriyorlar ki! Bazen 

de geçen İncek’te maalesef yaşadığımız gibi hayatlarını 

veriyorlar. 

Şu son yaşadığımız dönemdeki birçok sağlık çalışanı gibi. 

Bugün Akyurt’ta 10.000 fidan diktik. Biz bu orman ile bir 

farkındalık oluşturmak istedik. Hem kazandıklarımızı her 

şeyi borçlu olduğumuz doğaya hem de canı pahasına emek 

verenlerin, üretmiş olduğu kıymete. Aramızdan ayrılıp, yitip 

gitseler ve isimlerini sayamasak dahi, zümreyi anımsatmak 

istedik. Adına bu yüzden Mixta Sağlık Şehitleri Hatıra 

Ormanı dedik. 

Umuyoruz bize bizim için emek verenleri unutmayız ve 

onlara her daim teşekkür edebiliriz ve yine umarız ki bu 

teşekkürümüz şehitlerimize ulaşır.

While we are talking about labor, I would like to emphasize 

once again that the most important value for me due to my 

ideology is labor. So let’s do our bit in this regard. I would 

like to thank all my working brothers, friends and elders, 

who are no longer with us today, who export the Mixta 

Medical to 83 countries and make it a global brand and 

production mechanism. With their efforts, they knitted us 

knot by knot. They have grown us dirham and turned us 

into a mechanism that benefits our country.” 

Murat Cantekin, General Coordinator of Mixta Medical 

gave the message that Mixta is with the healthcare 

professionals. Cantekin continued his speech as follows: 

“Thanks to Brother Yılmaz, he has spoken such nice words 

again that there is not much left to say to us. However, I 

would like to open a short parenthesis here. 

He said labor, you know, brother Yilmaz. I saw most clearly 

that labor is such a thing in the existence and living process 

of Mixta Medical. The labor is so precious that we cannot 

explain the value of the labor or the value of the laborer 

with words. 

Also, I guess we are a little emotional people. We live with 

our loyalty and our memories. 

For example, those who visit our factory will remember. For 

example, I remember what we told my President, Mustafa. 

We keep our guillotine shears, which we used when Mixta 

Medical was new, in our factory. Every time we look at that 

scissors, we remember where we came from, the effort we 

put in and the effort we produced. 

We participated in our first fair, we sold our first product. 

We will ship the product back to the company. 

Hazır konu emekten açılmışken şahsımın da ideolojisi 

gereği en önemsediği değerin emek olduğunu bir kez 

daha vurgulamak isterim. O halde bizde bu konuda

abi yine o kadar güzel sözler sarf etti ki bize söyleyecek çok 

bir şey kalmadı. Ancak şuradan bir kısa parantez açmak 

istiyorum. 

Emek dedi ya hani Yılmaz abi. Emeğin öyle bir şey 

olduğunu ben en berrak olarak Mixta’nın var oluş ve 

yaşama sürecinde gördüm. Emek o kadar kıymetli ki ne 

emeğin kıymetini ne de emek verenin değerini kelimeler ile 

anlatamıyoruz. 

Bir de bizler sanırım biraz da duygusal insanlarız. Ahde 

vefamızla, hatıralarımızla yaşıyoruz. 

Örneğin fabrikamızı ziyaret edenler hatırlayacaktır. 

Mesala Mustafa Başkanıma anlattığımızı anımsıyorum. 

Fabrikamız içerisinde henüz Mixta yeni iken kullandığımız 

giyotin makasımızı saklıyoruz. O makasa her baktığımızda 

geldiğimizi yeri, verdiğimiz çabayı ve ürettiğimiz emeği 

hatırlıyoruz.

As you can appreciate, I remember that we calculated how 

we could fit that product in our Fiat Siena brand vehicle, 

which was gray at that time, with limited possibilities. 

I never forget those who worked hard for the success 

achieved today, I remember the wisdom they put forth the 

sweat they shed. 

Health is such a field that; the person who gives the labor 

is human, and the person who takes the labor is human 

too. Your job is human. There is no room for error. Seconds, 

reflexes and behavior are so important that they are truly 

vital. Sometimes it’s your patient’s life, sometimes it’s your 

life. As Yılmaz brother said, people for the sake of their 

lives at the expense of their own lives; may our forest 

be blessed in memory of all our martyrs who worked for 

health. I would like to thank my forest worker brothers 

and everyone involved, who are waiting here to help us, 

especially the Ankara Operations Chief of the General 

Directorate of Forestry, who made this allocation to us.”

şirkete ürünü sevk edeceğiz takdir edersiniz ki imkânlar 

kısıtlı o ürünün o zamanki gri renk olan Fiat Siena marka 

aracımıza nasıl sığdırabileceğimizi hesapladığımızı 

anımsıyorum. 

Bugün gelinen başarıda emek verenleri hiç unutmuyorum, 

döktükleri teri ortaya koydukları aklı hatırlıyorum. 

Sağlık öyle bir alan ki; emeği veren de insan, emeği alan 

da insan. İşiniz insan. Hataya yer yok. Saniyeler, refleksler 

ve davranışlar o kadar önemli ki gerçekten hayati. Bazen 

hastanızın hayatı bazen de sizin hayatınız. 

Yılmaz abinin de dediği gibi insanları hayatı uğruna 

kendi hayatları pahasına; sağlık için emek üreten tüm 

şehitlerimizin anısına ormanımız hayırlı olsun. 

Bize bu tahsisi yapan başta Orman Genel Müdürlüğü 

Ankara İşletme Şefliği olmak üzere şu an burada bizlere 

yardım için bekleyen orman emekçisi kardeşlerime ve dâhil

Turkish wind at Medica 2021 Fair 

Medica 2021 Fuarı’nda Türk rüzgarı 

Pandemi nedeniyle geçen yıl online yapılan, 

dünyanın en önemli ve en büyük medikal 

sektörü fuarı MEDICA 2021, bu yıl 15-18 Kasım 

2021 tarihleri arasında Almanya’nın Düsseldorf 

kentinde fiziki olarak gerçekleştirildi. Fuarın 

Türkiye milli katılımı ise bu yıl 12’inci defa 

İstanbul Kimyevi Maddeler ve Mamulleri 

İhracatçıları Birliği (İKMİB) tarafından organize 

edildi. Dünyadan yaklaşık 70 ülkeden 3 bin 

katılımcının yer aldığı fuarda, Türkiye’den katılan 

toplam 158 firma Türk ürünlerini alıcıların 

beğenisine sundu. 

MEDICA 2021, the world’s most important and 

largest medical industry fair, which was held online 

last year due to the pandemic, was onsite held in 

Düsseldorf, Germany, between 15 and 18 November 

2021 this year. The Turkish national participation in 

the fair was organized for the 12th time this year 

by the Istanbul Chemicals and Products Exporters’ 

Association (IKMIB). A total of 158 companies from 

Turkey presented their Turkish products to the 

buyers at the fair, where 3 thousand participants 

from about 70 countries from around the world 

took part. 

MEDICA fair, which has been one of the largest fairs in the 

world for more than 40 years in the field of medical products, 

equipment and technologies, was held onsite again this 

year in Düsseldorf between 15 and 18 November 2021, 

after the pandemic. This year, 34 companies participating 

with the national participation organization of IKMIB took 

place in 3 different halls as Hall1, Hall 6 and Hall 16. A total 

of 158 companies represented Turkey, with 124 companies 

participating individually. At the same time, the sector was

At the fair, Turkish companies had the opportunity to 

exhibit products whose importance is increasing due to 

COVID-19, such as medical devices, products, consumables, 

hospital furniture, surgical equipment, orthopedic products, 

pharmaceuticals and software products.

Adil Pelister: “There is an increase in demand for 

Turkish medical products” 

Adil Pelister, Chairman of the Board of IKMIB, said, “We 

organized our national participation organization for the 

12th time this year, in the MEDICA Fair, which is the largest 

event in the world in the health sector. 34 companies and 

124 individual companies within the national participation 

organization of Turkey at the MEDICA fair, which was visited 

by tens of thousands of people and hosted approximately 

3 thousand participants, medical devices, products, 

consumables, hospital furniture, surgical equipment, 

orthopedic products, pharmaceuticals and software products 

were also exhibited and met with visitors. We visited our 

participating companies together with Aachen Honorary 

Consul Ms. Uwe Merklein and Düsseldorf Commercial 

Attaches Anıl Gürtuna Kaya and İrem Ekmekçi as well as IKMIB 

Board of Directors and Auditors. We listened to the opinions 

and suggestions of our exporters. We gave information 

about the activities of our association. Our export of medical 

products continues to increase. Especially with the pandemic, 

there has been an increase in the demand for Turkish medical 

products. Our exports of pharmaceutical products amounted 

to 1 billion 153 million dollars in the ten-month period this 

year and exceeded the 1 billion dollars limit. There is a 20 

percent increase compared to the same period last year.”

Adil Pelister: “Türk medikal ürünlerine 

talep artışı var” 

İKMİB Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Adil Pelister, “Sağlık 

sektöründe dünyada düzenlenen en büyük etkinlik 

olan MEDICA Fuarı’na bu yıl 12’inci defa milli katılım 

organizasyonumuzu düzenledik. On binlerce kişinin ziyaret 

ettiği ve yaklaşık 3 bin katılımcıya ev sahipliği yapan, 

medikal cihazlar, ürünler, sarf malzemeleri, hastane 

mobilyaları, cerrahi ekipmanlar, ortapedik ürünler, ilaç 

ve yazılım ürünlerinin de sergilendiği MEDICA fuarında 

Türkiye milli katılım organizasyonu dahilinde 34 firmamız 

ve 124 bireysel firmamız ziyaretçilerle bir araya geldi.

faaliyetleri hakkında bilgi verdik. Medikal ürünleri 

ihracatımız artmaya devam ediyor. Özellikle pandemi ile 

birlikte Türk medikal ürünlerine olan talepte artış oldu. 

Eczacılık ürünleri ihracatımız bu yıl on aylık dönemde 1 

milyar 153 milyon dolar olarak gerçekleşti ve 1 milyar dolar 

sınırını aştı. Geçen yıl aynı döneme kıyasla yüzde 20 artış söz 

konusu” değerlendirmesini yaptı.

“It was a value-added fair” 

This year, as the national participation of TURKEY 

for the MEDICA 2021 fair, we represented a total of 

158 companies, including 34 companies participating 

in the organization of the Istanbul Chemicals and 

Products Exporters’ Association (IKMIB), and 124 

participating individually. Due to the pandemic, 

there was a decrease in the number of exhibitors 

and visitors compared to previous years. On the other 

hand, the efficiency of the visitors in terms of institutional 

quality, establishing new business connections and 

purchasing results was quite high. At this point, our 

companies have established great business relationships. 

In this sense, it was a value-added fair. As IKMIB, we have 

successfully fulfilled our duty.

“Katma değerli bir fuar oldu” 

Bu yıl MEDICA 2021 fuarında TÜRKİYE milli katılımı 

olarak, İstanbul Kimyevi Maddeler ve Mamulleri 

İhracatçıları Birliği ( İKMİB ) organizasyonu ile 

katılan 34 firma ve bireysel olarak katılan 124 

firma ile birlikte toplam 158 firma Türkiye’yi temsil 

ettik. Pandemi nedeniyle gerek katılımcı firmaların 

gerekse ziyaretçilerin sayısında geçen yıllara göre bir azalma 

vardı. Buna karşılık ziyaretçilerin kurumsal kalitesi ile yeni iş 

bağlantıları kurma ve satınalma sonuçları itibariyle verimliliği 

oldukça yüksekti. Bizim firmalarımızda bu noktada anlamlı 

iş ilişkileri oluşturdular. Bu anlamda katma değerli bir fuar 

oldu. Biz de İKMİB olarak vazifemizi başarıyla ifa etmiş olduk.

Could you give some information about

“Barter System, which is an alternative trade and financial 

model, is an important sector brought to the Turkish

serious changes and always rising graphics since its 

establishment. It took and fulfilled very important tasks in 

bringing the Barter System to the country’s economy and 

perceiving it as a commercial model. Türk Barter, as the

the name of the system that allows a company to pay the 

price of the goods or services it buys with the goods or

Alternatif ticaret ve finansal model olan Barter Sistemi 

bugün Türkiye iş dünyasına Türk Barter tarafından 

kazandırılmış önemli bir sektördür. Türk Barter kurulduğu 

yıllardan bu yana ciddi anlamda değişiklikler ve hep 

yükselen grafikler çizmiştir. Barter Sistemi’nin ülke

algılanmasında çok önemli görevler almış ve yerine

in Turkey face difficulties in carrying out their activities 

in any negative economic fluctuation. Bank loans, which 

are the classical financing methods, do not provide much 

benefit to companies due to high collateral and interest 

and do not meet their needs. The Barter System, which we 

call the alternative finance that Türk Barter has brought 

to the economy for 27 years, provides great support to 

companies with a system that is both interest-free, flexible 

and allows companies to pay their debts with the goods 

and services they produce. We believe that a strong Turkey 

means economically independent Turkey. The BarterBank 

application, which is operated with the logic of the internet

What is barter? How does the system work? 

“The purchase of the needed goods or services in exchange 

for the goods or services sold is called Barter. Barter is not 

a one-to-one exchange of goods, but a barter operation 

with several stations. When a company decides to work 

with the Barter System, a project to work with the 

company’s barter system is first prepared by the brokers. 

The company’s supplies and prices should be real and 

as a result of the examination, the company should be 

a company that can work in the barter sector. When his 

membership is found suitable, it can join our member 

companies by completing the required documents. The 

most important tools of the Barter System are supply and 

demand information. The member is obliged to record or 

notify the supply information, which is the only indicator of 

its ability to work in the Barter System. Each member has 

a supply and demand form. The offered goods or services 

are announced to other members by means of publications 

such as a website, e-mail, call center and magazine. 

Members who request the product inform the broker. The 

broker brings both members together and allows them to 

negotiate”

How is Barter loan applied? 

Barter Credit can be defined as a goods and/or product 

credit given to members who have registered in the system 

but do not have a receivable balance. If the companies 

benefit from the Support Loan by providing a guarantee 

to the system, they can purchase goods/services within 

the system up to the amount of the loan. Our aim here is 

to meet the needs of the member included in the system 

within the scope of interest-free support loan without 

paying cash.” 

What are Barter Club’s activities? 

“Traditionally, we bring our members and employees 

together with Barter Club events every year, and we 

organize social events such as excursions, meetings, etc. 

Barter Club undertook both the healthy functioning of 

the member and employee dialogues and the awareness

the Barter System can operate safely and effectively. 

However, due to the lack of Barter Law and the lack of 

any legislation in Turkey, it is observed that some Barter 

companies were established by promising their members 

without having any infrastructure and sufficient financial 

strength. Unfortunately, companies have been established 

that we encounter such problems due to the lack of 

legislation in the establishment of Barter companies. Such 

companies, established without control, also undermine 

the confidence in the sector. Other Barter companies, 

with different purposes, are dealing a very serious blow 

to the Barter sector by providing unrequited loans to their 

customers, lacking credit risk management. Therefore, 

the system needs legislation. For this purpose, the Barter 

Law should be enacted as soon as possible so that such 

attempts can be prevented and the Barter System can 

safely continue on its way.”

maksatla bir an önce Barter Kanunu çıkarılmalıdır ki bu 

tarz girişimler engellensin ve Barter Sistemi güvenle yoluna

with a collective understanding. 

“Each sub-industry has its own problems” 

Tayfun Koçak emphasized that there are many subsectors 

in the chemical materials and products sector and 

continued as follows, “I served as a TİM Delegate in the 

Exporters’ Association for two terms. I was a member of 

the Board of Directors for a term. I have been in business 

in the exporters’ union for almost three terms. I am a 

member of the Petroleum Assembly at the Exchanges 

Association. We set out on this journey to develop our 

know-how, together with the representatives of nongovernmental 

organizations, in a way to cover all existing 

non-governmental organizations, and to solve sector 

problems together with our team. We have many subsectors 

that are of great importance under the umbrella of 

IKMIB. We have a wide range of products such as plastics, 

mineral oils, mineral fuels, cosmetics, fertilizers and soaps. 

Every industry has its own problems. Not only with the 

Members of the Board of Directors we will establish, but 

also with the enlarged Board of 51 people, we aim to 

recruit representatives from almost every sector and, with 

a common mind, both to develop exports and to increase 

the value on a kilogram basis.” 

“The period of ‘portership’ in exports will end” 

Pointing out that Turkey has a great potential especially 

in exports, IKMIB Presidential candidate Koçak said, “Our 

country is in a very good position in terms of logistics. The 

Chinese supply chain is broken. There is a great interest in 

Turkey. We should not miss this interest. So whether it’s 

South America as far as we can go, the smallest country 

in Africa, or Australia. We should export more to these 

regions. I am thinking of doing a serious study on all 

countries with alternative foreign market potential. We 

export abroad, but we need to increase our average price 

per kilogram. Of course, we should not be porters. We 

need to focus on special foreign products.” 

“Imported input costs should decrease” 

Declaring that the exporter always favors a stable 

exchange rate, Tayfun Koçak said, “There is more than 70 

percent imported input, especially in mineral oil. We are 

looking for the answer to the question of whether we can 

produce such products in our country within the scope of 

domestic and national production vision. If we produce, 

we will both prevent imports and reduce the cost in the 

localization and nationalization project. In the long run, 

perhaps we will be able to export it to the defense industry 

of other countries. This potential exists for all sectors.”

yapıyorum. Bu bilgi birikimimizi, mevcuttaki bütün sivil 

toplum örgütlerini kapsayacak şekilde sivil toplum 

örgütleri temsilcileriyle beraber ihracatı geliştirmek, 

sektör sorunlarını ekibimizle birlikte çözümlemek için 

bu yola çıktık. İKMİB çatısı altında büyük önem arz 

eden birçok alt sektörümüz var. Plastik, mineral yağlar, 

mineral yakıtlar, kozmetik, gübre ve sabun gibi geniş bir 

yelpazeye sahibiz. Her sektörün kendine has sorunları 

var. Sadece kuracağımız Yönetim Kurulu Üyeleri ile 

değil, 51 kişilik genişletilmiş Yönetim Kurulu ile hemen 

her sektörden temsilci alıp ortak akılla hem ihracatı 

geliştirmek hem de kilogram bazında değeri artırmayı 

hedefliyoruz.” 

“İhracatta ‘hamallık’ dönemi sona erecek” 

Türkiye’nin özellikle ihracatta büyük bir potansiyele 

sahip olduğuna dikkati çeken İKMİB Başkan adayı Koçak, 

“Ülkemiz lojistik olarak çok iyi bir konumda. Çin kaynaklı 

tedarik zinciri bozulmuş durumda. Türkiye’ye karşı büyük 

bir ilgi var. Bu ilgiyi kaçırmamamız lazım. Dolayısıyla 

gidebildiğimiz en uzaktaki Güney Amerika olsun, 

Afrika’nın en küçük ülkesi olsun ya da Avustralya olsun. 

Bu bölgelere daha fazla ihracat yapmalıyız. Alternatif 

dış pazar potansiyeli olan bütün ülkelerle ilgili ciddi 

bir çalışma yapmayı düşünüyorum. Yurt dışına ihracat 

yapıyoruz ancak kilogram başına ortalama fiyatımızı 

yükseltmemiz lazım. Tabiri caizse hamallık yapmamamız 

lazım. Özel dış ürünlere yönelmemiz gerekiyor.”

projesinde maliyeti azaltacağız. 

Uzun vadede belki de bunu diğer ülkelerin savunma 

sanayine ihraç edebileceğiz. Bu potansiyel bütün

kapsamında yola çıkan gezici tır, ilk durağı 

Ankara’nın ardından; 18-20 Kasım Üsküdar 

ve 21-24 Kasım tarihleri arasında Kadıköy’de 

olmak üzere ikinci durağı olan İstanbul’da 

ziyaretçilerini bekliyor.

The mobile truck, which set off within the 

scope of the “Healthy Kidney Healthy Life” 

project implemented by the Turkish Society of 

Nephrology, after its first stop in Ankara; It awaits 

its visitors in its second stop, Istanbul, between 

18 and 20 November in Üsküdar and 

21-24 November in Kadıköy. 

The Turkish Society of Nephrology launched the “Healthy 

Kidney Healthy Life” (in Turkish “Sağlıklı Böbrek Sağlıklı 

Hayat”) project in order to raise awareness in the society 

about chronic kidney disease, which continues to be an 

important health problem in Turkey and in the world, and 

to draw attention to the risk factors that lead to chronic 

kidney disease and the importance of early diagnosis in 

preserving kidney function. Within the scope of the project, 

which is supported unconditionally by AstraZeneca Turkey, 

Roche Diagnostics Turkey and Mesitaş, the urine albumin 

test and blood pressure measurements of the visitors are 

carried out with the rapid test method in the mobile truck 

to be located in Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir. As in Ankara, the 

first stop of the traveling truck, visitors can immediately get 

the results of the measurements they have taken, and the 

health workers on the mobile truck inform about the test 

results of the visitors. 

After Ankara, the first stop of the “Healthy Kidney Healthy 

Life” truck, it will meet with its visitors in front of Beşiktaş 

Pier in Kadıköy between 21 and 24 November, opposite the 

Türk Nefroloji Derneği, Türkiye’de ve dünyada önemli bir 

sağlık sorunu olmayı sürdüren kronik böbrek hastalığına 

dair toplumda farkındalık sağlamak, kronik böbrek 

hastalığına yol açan risk faktörleri ve erken tanının 

böbrek fonksiyonunu korumadaki önemine dikkat çekmek 

amacıyla “Sağlıklı Böbrek Sağlıklı Hayat” projesini hayata 

geçirdi. AstraZeneca Türkiye, Roche Diagnostik Türkiye ve 

Mesitaş’ın koşulsuz desteklediği proje kapsamında Ankara, 

İstanbul ve İzmir şehirlerinde bulunacak gezici tırda hızlı 

test yöntemi ile ziyaretçilerin idrarda albümin testi ve 

kan basıncı ölçümleri yapılıyor. Gezici tırın ilk durağı olan 

Ankara’da olduğu gibi ziyaretçiler, yaptırdıkları ölçümlerin 

sonuçlarını hemen alabiliyor ve gezici tırda görevli 

sağlık çalışanları, ziyaretçilerin test sonuçlarına ilişkin

Türkiye’de her 6 ila 7 erişkin bireyden biri böbrek hastası 

Kronik böbrek hastalığı dünya nüfusunun yaklaşık yüzde 

15’ini etkileyen ciddi bir sağlık sorunu olarak tanımlanıyor 1 . 

Bu hastalık önemli bir sağlık sorunu oluşturmasının yanı 

sıra diğer ağır hastalıklara da zemin hazırlayabiliyor 4 . 

Kronik böbrek hastalarında kalp hastalıkları, ölüm 

nedenlerinin neredeyse yüzde 50’sini oluşturuyor. 5 Kronik 

böbrek hastalığına zemin hazırlayan faktörler arasında ileri 

yaş, ailede böbrek hastalığı öyküsü, diyabet, hipertansiyon, 

idrar yolu enfeksiyonları ve böbrek taşı oluşumu yer alıyor 2,3. 

Kan basıncının ve diyabette kan şekerinin kontrol altında 

olmaması gibi faktörler de kronik böbrek hastalığının 

ilerlemesine neden olabiliyor 2,3 . Türkiye’de her altı ila yedi 

erişkin bireyden birinin böbrek hastası olduğu tahmin 

ediliyor. 

Erken tanı kronik böbrek hastalığının ilerlemesini 

durdurabilir 

Hastalığın yüksek yaygınlığına rağmen erken tanı 

oranlarının düşük düzeyde seyrettiğini hatırlatan 2 Türk 

Nefroloji Derneği Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Prof. Dr. Alaattin 

Yıldız, projeyle ilgili şu açıklamayı yaptı: “Böbreklerimiz,

One out of every 6 to 7 adults in Turkey has kidney disease 

Chronic kidney disease is defined as a serious health 

problem affecting approximately 15% of the world’s 

population 1 . In addition to being an important health 

problem, this disease can also pave the way for other 

serious diseases 4 . Heart diseases constitute almost 50 

percent of the causes of death in patients with chronic 

kidney disease 5 . Factors that predispose to chronic kidney 

disease include advanced age, family history of kidney 

disease, diabetes, hypertension, urinary tract infections, 

and kidney stone formation 2,3. Factors such as uncontrolled 

blood pressure and blood sugar in diabetes may also 

lead to the progression of chronic kidney disease 2,3 . It 

is estimated that one out of every six to seven adults in 

Turkey has kidney disease. 

Early diagnosis can halt progression of chronic 

kidney disease 

Reminding that the early diagnosis rates are low despite 

the high prevalence of the disease 2 , Prof. Dr. Alaattin Yıldız, 

President of the Turkish Society of Nephrology, made 

the following statement about the project: “Although 

our kidneys seem small in terms of structure and weight, 

they are very important organs for our body. Although 

our kidneys make up 0.5 percent of our body weight, 

they receive more than 20 percent of cardiac output, and 

in this respect, they come second after the brain. They 

take on many important functions, from the removal of 

harmful and waste materials in our body to the secretion of 

hormones that regulate our blood pressure. Therefore, the 

progression of chronic kidney disease affects the health of 

the organs that perform important functions of our body. 

With our “Healthy Kidney Healthy Life” truck, we aim to 

inform our citizens about the importance of our kidney 

health and the prevention of progression of the disease 

through early diagnosis of chronic kidney disease. With 

the instant test opportunities we will offer to our visitors, 

we will screen people of all ages for hidden kidney disease 

and hypertension. We are trying to raise awareness about 

hypertension and kidney disease in the society. In this way, 

we want to explain the importance of early diagnosis.”

hormonların salgılanmasına kadar pek çok önemli 

işlevi üstlenirler. Dolayısıyla kronik böbrek hastalığının 

ilerlemesi, vücudumuzun önemli işlevlerini yerine getiren 

organların sağlık durumunu etkiler. “Sağlıklı Böbrek 

Sağlıklı Hayat” tırımızla, hem böbrek sağlığımızın önemi 

hem de kronik böbrek hastalığının erken tanısıyla hastalığın 

ilerlemesinin engellenmesi konusunda vatandaşımızı 

bilgilendirmeyi hedefliyoruz. Ziyaretçilerimize sunacağımız 

anlık test imkanlarıyla her yaştan insanı gizli böbrek 

hastalığı ve hipertansiyon açısından taramış olacağız. 

Toplumda hipertansiyon ve böbrek hastalığı konusunda 

farkındalık oluşturmaya çalışıyoruz. Bu şekilde erken

KEPAN’s Medical Nutrition Awareness Research, 

conducted with the unconditional support of 

Abbott, shows that there is an opportunity for 

education on malnutrition and the importance of 

muscle health. 

In diseases, the nutritional status of the patient is of great 

importance for the healing process. While malnutrition, 

that is, poor nutrition, negatively affects treatment and 

adherence to treatment, it also significantly reduces the 

quality of life of patients and their relatives. According 

to the results of the Medical Nutrition Awareness Survey 

conducted by the Turkish Society for Parenteral and Enteral 

Nutrition (shortly in Turkish KEPAN) with the unconditional 

support of Abbott with the participation of more than a 

thousand people across Turkey, the number of people who 

know the definition of malnutrition is quite low. According 

to the report, 78% of the participants reported that they 

had not heard of the definition of malnutrition before, 

while almost all of the same group (95%) stated that 

“nutrition” had a positive effect on the healing process of 

diseases. 

The report states muscle loss, which nutrition and muscle

azaltır. Türkiye Klinik Enteral Parenteral Nütrisyon (KEPAN) 

Derneği tarafından Abbott’un koşulsuz desteğiyle Türkiye 

çapında binden fazla kişinin katılımı ile yapılan Medikal 

Beslenme Farkındalık Araştırması’nın sonuçlarına göre 

malnütrisyon tanımını bilen kişi sayısı oldukça az. Rapora 

göre katılımcıların %78’i daha önce malnütrisyon tanımını 

duymadığını bildirirken, yine aynı grubun neredeyse tamamı 

(%95) “beslenme”nin hastalıkların iyileşme sürecine olumlu 

etkisi olduğunu belirtti. 

Raporda beslenme ve kas gücünün aslında birbiriyle 

bağlantılı olduğu, kas kaybının; solunum güçlüğü dahil 

olmak üzere güçsüzlük, hareketlerde yavaşlama, yatalak 

hale gelme gibi sorunlara yol açtığı ve medikal beslenme 

tedavisi ile bu sorunlara çözüm üretilebileceği konularında

strength are actually linked, causes problems such as 

weakness, slowing of movements, being bedridden, 

including difficulty in breathing and awareness of medical 

nutrition therapy and solutions to these problems 

were measured. Considering the report, the first 

thing that comes to mind when malnutrition or poor 

nutrition is mentioned is mostly babies and children with 

developmental delays (68%). However, it is overlooked that 

malnutrition is at the forefront, especially in diseases with 

a long and tiring process such as cancer, stroke, Alzheimer’s 

and dementia, and it has an importance that will affect the 

course of the disease and even survival. For this reason, 

there is a need to raise awareness that it is possible to 

increase the success of treatment and the quality of life of 

patients and their relatives with medical nutrition support 

in such cases. 

The results of the Medical Nutrition Awareness Survey, 

which was prepared to raise awareness about malnutrition, 

were announced at the press conference organized by 

the Turkish Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition 

(KEPAN) with the unconditional support of Abbott. 

The highlights of the Medical Nutrition 

Awareness Survey, in which 1,213 people 

participated, are as follows: 

. 78% of the participants stated that they had not heard the 

definition of malnutrition before. 

. 95% of the participants stated that they think that 

nutrition plays an effective role in the healing process. 

. It was observed that the awareness of medical nutrition 

and malnutrition was higher in women than in men. 


medical nutrition is mostly used in babies and children with 

developmental delay. Cancer (39%) and Alzheimer’s (35%) 

were not the first to come to mind and were in the last 

place. 

. 72% of the participants stated that they knew medical 

nutrition products. 

. 88% of the participants do not know or know very 

little that it is a treatment. Only 12% know that medical 

nutrition support is a cure. 

. 79% of those who know about medical nutrition products 

are 45 years old and over.

. Participants stated that muscle loss caused 84% 

weakness, 83% slowness in movement, and 77% inability to 

move. 

. Difficulty in breathing (33%) and difficulty in swallowing 

(33%) were among the most common and serious 

consequences of muscle wasting. 

“Medical nutrition is a cure” 

Prof. Dr. Murat Gündüz, President, Turkish Society of 

Clinical Enteral & Parenteral Nutrition (shortly in Turkish 

KEPAN), said, “A series of activities are carried out by 

KEPAN, the clinical nutrition association of our country, 

in order to raise the awareness of the society about 

malnutrition and to draw attention to this situation. The 

nutritional status of patients who applied to general

beslenme desteği ile tedavi başarısını, hasta ve hasta 

yakınlarının yaşam kalitesini yükseltmenin mümkün 

olduğuna yönelik farkındalığı artırmaya ihtiyaç bulunuyor. 

Türkiye Klinik Enteral Parenteral Nütrisyon (KEPAN) 

Derneği tarafından, Abbott’un koşulsuz desteğiyle 

düzenlenen basın toplantısında, yetersiz beslenme 

konusundaki farkındalığı ortaya koymak amacıyla 

hazırlanan Medikal Beslenme Farkındalık Araştırması’nın 

sonuçları açıklandı. 

1.213 kişinin katıldığı Medikal Beslenme 

Farkındalık Araştırması’ndan öne çıkan veriler 

şöyle: 

. Katılımcıların %78’i daha önce malnütrisyon tanımını 

duymadığını belirtti. 

. Katılımcıların %95’i iyileşme sürecinde beslenmenin etkili 

bir rol oynadığını düşündüğünü belirtti. 

. Kadınlarda medikal beslenme ve malnütrisyon bilincinin 

erkeklere göre daha yüksek olduğu görüldü. 

. Katılımcıların %68’i medikal beslenmenin daha çok 

gelişme geriliği olan bebek ve çocuklarda kullanıldığını 

düşündüklerini ifade etti. Kanser (%39) ve Alzheimer (%35) 

durumları ilk akla gelenler olmamış ve son sıralarda yer 

almıştır. 

. Katılımcıların %72’si medikal beslenme ürünlerini bildiğini 

ifade etti. 

. Katılımcıların %88’i bunun bir tedavi olduğunu ya hiç 

bilmiyor ya da çok az biliyor. Medikal beslenme desteğinin 

bir tedavi olduğunu bilenler sadece %12. 

. Medikal beslenme ürünlerini bilenlerin %75’inin kadın 

olduğu görüldü. 

. Medikal beslenme ürünlerini bilenlerin %79’u ise 45 yaş ve 

üzerinde. 

. Katılımcıların %52’si yetersiz beslenmenin kas kaybına 

neden olduğunu düşündüklerini belirtti. 

. Katılımcılar, kas kaybının %84 oranında güçsüzlüğe, %83 

oranında hareketlerde yavaşlamaya ve %77 oranında ise 

hareket edememeye yol açtığını belirtti. 

. Yine kas kaybının sık görülen ve ciddi sonuçlarından 

nefes almada güçlük (%33) ve yutkunmada zorluk (%33) 

durumları en son sıralarda düşünüldü. 

“Medikal beslenme bir tedavidir” 

KEPAN Başkanı Prof. Dr. Murat Gündüz, “Yetersiz 

beslenme ile ilgili toplumun farkındalığını artırmak ve 

bu duruma dikkat çekmek amacıyla ülkemizin klinik 

beslenme derneği olan KEPAN tarafından bir dizi faaliyetler 

gerçekleştirilmektedir. Önceki yıl Türkiye genelinde 21 

şehir ve 50 merkezde, genel cerrahi, geriatri, nöroloji, 

radyasyon onkolojisi ve medikal onkoloji polikliniklerine

surgery, geriatrics, neurology, radiation oncology and 

medical oncology outpatient clinics in 21 cities and 50 

centers across Turkey in the previous year were evaluated 

cross-sectionally. According to this study, it has been 

revealed that planning is necessary in nutrition therapy 

in one out of every five patients. Malnutrition and 

malnutrition due to diseases cause two separate problems. 

The first of these problems is that malnutrition delays 

recovery, increases the tendency to infections, prolongs 

hospital stay and increases mortality rates. The second 

problem is that malnutrition causes serious economic 

losses. According to a study conducted in European Union 

countries, the economic burden of malnutrition on Europe 

is approximately 170 billion Euros per year. As KEPAN 

Association, we organize numerous training meetings 

for health professionals and awareness activities for the 

public in order to bring this situation to a better position 

regarding both the health of our people and the country’s 

economy.” 

Stating that the published Medical Nutrition Awareness 

Research reveals the effect of malnutrition on muscles, 

Prof. Dr. Murat Gündüz continued his words as follows: 

“According to the report, 52 percent of the participants 

stated that they think that malnutrition causes muscle 

loss. Damage to natural reflexes such as breathing and 

swallowing is not generally considered a result of muscle 

wasting. Among the problems caused by muscle loss, 

movement system problems such as inability to move 

(77%), weakness (84%), slowness in movements (83%) are 

more common. 

“Our motto in the elderly should be eat enough 

and have a healthy age” 

Prof. Dr. Gülistan Bahat Öztürk, Secretary General of 

KEPAN, on the other hand, said the following on the 

subject: “Even if the elderly do not have any underlying 

comorbidities, malnutrition is the group in which 

malnutrition is common due to the changes that occur with 

aging. The ideal body mass index is significantly higher in 

the elderly than in the young. In other words, it is more 

advantageous for the elderly to be a little overweight to 

live longer and independently. Our motto in the elderly 

should be adequate nutrition and healthy age.” 

“Early diagnosis and treatment of malnutrition is 

very important for a sustainable health system” 

Stating that weight loss is 15-20% at the time of diagnosis, 

80% in advanced stages of the disease, and 80-90% in 

end-stage cancer patients, depending on the type of 

cancer in Surgery and Surgical Oncology Patients, Prof. 

Dr. Mutlu Doğanay, II President of KEPAN continued his 

words as follows: “Like all diseases, malnutrition should 

be diagnosed early and its treatment should be started 

in the early period. A quarter of cancer patients die due 

to the consequences of malnutrition rather than the 

tumor itself. Malnutrition adversely affects the quality of 

life and the side effects of treatments such as surgery, 

chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Complications such as 

wound infection are reduced, hospitalization times are 

shortened, and treatment costs are significantly reduced in 

başvuran hastalardaki beslenme durumu kesitsel olarak 

değerlendirilmiştir. Bu araştırmaya göre her beş hastadan 

birinde beslenme tedavisinde planlama gerekli olduğu 

ortaya konulmuştur. Yetersiz beslenme ve hastalıklara 

bağlı yetersiz beslenme 2 ayrı soruna yol açmaktadır. Bu 

sorunlardan birincisi, yetersiz beslenmenin iyileşmeyi 

geciktirmesi, enfeksiyonlara eğilimi artırması, hastanede 

kalış süresini uzatması ve ölüm oranlarını yükseltmesidir. 

Sorunlardan ikincisi ise yetersiz beslenmenin ciddi 

ekonomik kayıplara neden olmasıdır. Avrupa Birliği 

ülkelerinde yapılan bir araştırmaya göre yetersiz 

beslenmenin Avrupa’ya getirdiği ekonomik yük yılda 

yaklaşık 170 milyar avrodur. KEPAN Derneği olarak hem 

insanlarımızın sağlığıyla hem de ülke ekonomisiyle ilgili 

bu durumu daha da iyi bir konuma getirebilmek için sağlık 

profesyonellerine yönelik çok sayıda eğitim toplantıları ve 

halka yönelik farkındalık aktiviteleri yapıyoruz” dedi. 

Yayınlanan Medikal Beslenme Farkındalık Araştırması’nın 

özellikle malnütrisyonun kaslar üzerindeki etkisini ortaya 

koyduğunu ifade eden Prof. Dr. Murat Gündüz, sözlerine 

şöyle devam etti: “Rapora göre katılımcıların yüzde 

52’si yetersiz beslenmenin kas kaybına neden olduğunu 

düşündüklerini belirtti. Nefes alma ve yutma gibi doğal 

reflekslerin zarar görmesi genellikle kas kaybının bir 

sonucu olarak kabul edilmiyor. Kas kaybının neden olduğu 

problemler arasında hareket edememe (%77), güçsüzlük 

(%84), hareketlerde yavaşlama (%83) gibi hareket sistemi 

sorunları daha sık görülüyor.” 

“Yaşlılarda mottomuz yeterli beslen, sağlıklı 

yaşlan olmalıdır” 

KEPAN Genel Sekreteri Prof. Dr. Gülistan Bahat Öztürk 

ise konuyla ilgili şunları söyledi: “Yaşlılar altta yatan ek 

hastalıkları olmasa bile yaşlanma ile oluşan değişiklikler 

nedeniyle malnütrisyonun sık görüldüğü gruptur. İdeal 

beden kitle indeksi yaşlılarda gençlere göre belirgin olarak 

daha yüksektir. Yani yaşlıların biraz daha kilolu olmaları, 

daha uzun ve bağımsız yaşamak için daha avantajlı bir 

durumdur. Yaşlılarda mottomuz yeterli beslen sağlıklı 

yaşlan olmalıdır.” 

“Sürdürülebilir bir sağlık sistemi için 

malnütrisyonun erken tanı ve tedavisi çok 

önemlidir” 

Cerrahi ve Cerrahi Onkoloji Hastalarında, kanser tipine 

bağlı olarak, tanı anında kilo kaybının %15-20, hastalığın 

ileri aşamalarında %80, son dönem kanser hastalarında ise 

bu oranın %80-90 olduğunu ifade eden KEPAN 2. Başkanı 

Prof. Dr. Mutlu Doğanay, sözlerine şöyle devam etti: 

“Bütün hastalıklarda olduğu gibi, beslenme yetersizliğinin 

de tanısı erken konulmalı ve tedavisine erken dönemde 

başlanmalıdır. Kanser hastalarının dörtte biri tümörün 

kendisinden ziyade, yetersiz beslenmenin sonuçları 

nedeniyle kaybedilmektedir. Yetersiz beslenme yaşam 

kalitesini ve cerrahi, kemoterapi, radyoterapi gibi tedavilerin 

yan etkilerini olumsuz etkilemektedir. Beslenme tedavisi iyi 

yapılmış hastaların yara enfeksiyonu gibi komplikasyonları 

azalmakta, hastanede yatış süreleri kısalmakta ve tedavi

patients with good nutritional therapy. For this reason, a 

real scientific evaluation of malnutrition should be made in 

these patients, and nutritional treatment of patients with 

malnutrition should be started immediately. Especially in 

cancer patients, nutritional products for medical purposes 

should be started according to the need, and at the 

same time, a taste memory should be created with these 

products against the loss of taste due to the treatments 

applied. If nutritional problems are not managed 

appropriately, they limit responses to the best treatments. 

Before both surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, we 

should increase our success in treatment with nutrition, 

which is the main fuel of our defense weapons against 

negativities, by filling the patient’s nutritional stores. For a 

sustainable health system, early diagnosis and treatment of 

malnutrition is of great importance in our country as well 

as all over the world.”

With the “Kasını Sev, Kasını Koru” (in English ‘Love 

Your Muscle, Protect Your Muscle’) project, which was 

implemented with the unconditional support of Abbott 

to raise awareness about muscle loss, the necessity and 

importance of muscle strength, anyone can enter the 

website www.kasinikoru.com and learn the muscle age by 

typing in the muscle age calculator age, gender and the 

time to perform the test. Ayhan Sicimoğlu, who published 

a video to draw attention to the importance of muscle 

strength by calculating muscle age within the scope of the 

project, gives the message that “whatever your muscle age 

is, take care of your muscles to maintain your strength and 

continue to eat in a way that protects your muscles” and 

invites social media users to challenge. 

Informative social media posts specific to the campaign can 

be followed on the Instagram page of @beslenmedebilim 

and all users can join the challenge. The muscle age 

calculation test can be accessed at www.kasinikoru.com.

discrimination in obesity was discussed

have been completed. In the workshops held on November 

4 and 18, 2021, the role of the media in preventing stigma 

and discrimination in obesity was discussed. Prof. Dr.

“My Role Is Heavy, So What’s Your Role?” project aims 

to draw attention to the stigma and discrimination that 

individuals with obesity face in every aspect of their lives. 

In the first step of the project, workshops were held 

where “The Role of the Media in Obesity” was discussed by 

meeting with members of the press. 

In the workshops, first of all, important information about 

the obesity disease was shared. Experts drew attention to 

the fact that obesity is not just a problem of “willpower” 

and should be treated with a multidisciplinary approach. 

In the workshop, it was also emphasized that stigma is the 

biggest obstacle to treatment and that a doctor should be 

consulted in order to lose weight reliably with scientific 

treatments.

medyanın rolü tartışıldı 

Rolüm Ağır, Peki Senin Rolün Ne? projesinin medya atölye

“Rolüm Ağır, Peki Senin Rolün Ne?” Projesi, obeziteli 

bireylerin hayatlarının her alanında karşılaştıkları 

damgalama ve ayrımcılık sorununa dikkat çekiyor. Projenin 

ilk adımında, basın mensuplarıyla bir araya gelinerek, 

“Obezitede Medyanın Rolü”nün tartışıldığı atölyeler 

gerçekleştirildi. 

Atölyelerde ilk olarak, obezite hastalığı ile ilgili önemli 

bilgiler paylaşıldı. Uzmanlar, obezitenin sadece bir 

‘iradesizlik’ sorunu olmadığına ve multidisipliner bir 

yaklaşımla tedavi edilmesi gerektiğine dikkat çekti. 

Atölyede ayrıca, damgalamanın tedavinin önündeki en 

büyük engel olduğu, bilimsel tedavilerle güvenilir şekilde 

kilo vermek için mutlaka doktora başvurulması gerektiği de 

vurgulandı.

Discriminatory and stigmatizing contents in the 

media were examined 

Prof. Dr. Deniz Sezgin and Research Assistant İlkin 

Esen Yıldırım shared the presentation consisting of 

discriminatory and stigmatizing content that they 

researched in different fields such as television, cinema and 

newspaper in the workshops. Presenting striking examples 

in her presentation, Prof. Dr. Sezgin drew attention to the 

stigmatizing language and thought patterns in the series, 

movies and television programs about individuals with 

obesity. 

Prof. Dr. Sezgin also touched upon the news content about 

obesity in her presentation. The perception of the obese 

individual as ‘unhappy, tired, helpless’ based on the images 

used in the news, and the effects of expressions such as 

“obese, fat” in the news texts were discussed. At the same 

time, examples of correct language and visual use were 

presented. 

A report will be shared on the representation of 

obesity in the media 

The workshops of “My Role Is Heavy, So What’s Your Role?”, 

one of the important steps of the project, made many 

contributions to both ensuring that the obesity disease 

is conveyed to the society with correct expressions and 

to the fight against stigma and discrimination in obesity. 

Expressing that they are very pleased with the participation 

in the workshops, Prof. Dr. Sezgin also informed that 

they will share a detailed report on the representation 

of obesity in the media with the members of the press in 

March. 

It achieves a first in Turkey! 

The “My Role Is Heavy, So What’s Your Role?” project 

achieves a first in Turkey by drawing attention to the 

effects of stigma and discrimination on individuals with 

obesity. The project continues to reveal the effects of 

stigma and discrimination that individuals with obesity are 

exposed to in family and business life, social life, education 

and health.

Prof. Dr. Sezgin sunumunda, obezite hastalığı ile ilgili 

yayımlanmış haber içeriklerine de değindi. Haberlerde 

kullanılan görseller üzerinden oluşturulan, obeziteli 

bireyin ‘mutsuz, yorgun, çaresiz’ olduğu algısı ve haber 

metinlerinde yer alan, “obez, şişman” gibi ifadelerin

adımlarından biri olan atölyeler, hem obezite hastalığının 

doğru ifadelerle topluma aktarılmasını sağlamak hem 

de obezitede damgalama ve ayrımcılığa karşı mücadele 

etmeye yönelik birçok katkı sağladı. Atölyelere katılımdan 

çok memnun olduklarını ifade eden Prof. Dr. Sezgin, Mart 

ayında obezitenin medyadaki temsili ile ilgili incelemelerinin 

ayrıntılı bir raporunu basın mensuplarıyla paylaşacakları 

bilgisini de verdi.

After graduating from Faculty of 

Pharmacy, Hacettepe University, 

Nihan Burul Bozkurt received her 

undergraduate and doctorate degrees 

in pharmacology, respectively, from the 

same university. Bozkurt, who started her 

career as a research assistant at Faculty 

of Pharmacy, Hacettepe University in 

2000, worked on Alzheimer’s Disease 

in different countries as an invited researcher. Between 

2014 and 2016, she worked as the Clinical Director at the 

Novagenix Bio-Analytical Pharmaceuticals R&D Center. 

Bozkurt has been working as the Head of Clinical Research 

Department at the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices 

Agency since 2016. 

Bozkurt, who will work at AIFD Ankara Headquarters, will 

support the work of the Health Science Policies Strategic 

Management Committee.

Sağlık Bilim Politikaları Stratejik Yönetim Komitesi

Senior appointments were made at Polifarma, 

a local and national pharmaceutical company 

that has been producing in the Turkish health 

sector for 35 years. Fatih Zengin was appointed 

as Assistant General Manager for Financial 

Affairs, Supply Chain Management and Human 

Resources, while Nursel Gülsoy was appointed as 

Assistant General Manager for Quality, Technical 

Operations and Production Functions. 

Fatih Zengin was appointed as Assistant General Manager 

for Financial Affairs, Supply Chain Management and Human 

Resources, and Nursel Gülsoy was appointed as Deputy 

General Manager of Factory of Polifarma Pharmaceuticals, 

which has 100 percent domestic capital. 

Fatih Zengin, who started his new job as of 22.11.2021, 

has been working at Polifarma for more than 28 years. 

Having served as Chief Accountant for 2 years and Finance 

Manager for 19 years at Polifarma, Zengin has been serving 

as the Financial Affairs Director for more than two years. 

Nursel Gülsoy, who graduated from Department of 

Chemical Engineering, Ankara University and completed her 

master’s degree in biotechnology at the same university, 

started her duty as of 22.11.2021. Gülsoy, who started her 

career as a Quality Control Analyst in the pharmaceutical 

industry, worked in the industry as a Quality Control Chief/ 

Manager for nearly 20 years. Afterwards, Gülsoy worked in 

positions such as Production Manager, Factory Manager, 

and most recently as Project Manager and GMP Consultant 

in a consultancy firm. 

Türkiye sağlık sektöründe 35 yıldır üretim yapan 

yerli ve milli ilaç şirketi Polifarma’da üst düzey 

atamalar gerçekleşti. Fatih Zengin Mali İşler,

olarak görev yapan Zengin, iki yılı aşkın süredir Mali işler 

Direktörlüğü görevini yürütüyordu. 

Ankara Üniversitesi Kimya Mühendisliği Bölümü mezunu 

olan, yüksek lisansını da aynı üniversitede biyoteknoloji 

alanında tamamlayan Nursel Gülsoy, 22.11.2021 itibarıyla 

görevine başladı. İş hayatına ilaç endüstrisinde Kalite 

Kontrol Analisti olarak başlayan Gülsoy, yaklaşık 20 yıl 

sektörde Kalite Kontrol Şefi/Müdürü olarak çalıştı. Ardından 

Üretim Müdürü, Fabrika Müdürü gibi pozisyonlarda görev 

yapan Gülsoy, son olarak bir danışmanlık firmasında Proje 

Müdürü ve GMP Danışmanı olarak çalışıyordu.

Oğuz Akandil, General Manager of Nobel İlaç Turkey 

Working in the pharmaceutical industry in various domestic 

and abroad positions for many years, Oğuz Akandil was 

appointed as the General Manager of Nobel İlaç Turkey. 

Oğuz Akandil graduated from Boğaziçi University, Faculty 

of Business Administration in 1996 and completed his 

MBA degree at the same university in 2002. Starting his 

career at Pfizer İlaç, Akandil was appointed as Finance 

Director in 2011 after working in different departments 

such as finance, sales, marketing, business development, 

and animal health. Akandil, who became the General 

Manager of Ukraine in 2014, then served as Russia Business 

Development and Reimbursement Director. 

Joining Amgen in 2017 as Turkey, the Middle East, and 

Africa Strategic Planning Director, Oğuz Akandil was 

appointed as the Commercial Director of Gensenta after 

this assignment. Most recently, Akandil was the Director of 

Sales and Marketing at Amgen. Oğuz Akandil will continue 

his successful career under the umbrella of NOBEL İLAÇ 

with the belief of “Health Is Worth It” as General Manager 

of Nobel İlaç Turkey as of October 2021. 

İlaç sektöründe uzun yıllar çeşitli yurtiçi ve yurtdışı 

pozisyonlarda görev yapmış Oğuz Akandil, Nobel İlaç 

Türkiye Genel Müdürü olarak atandı. 

Oğuz Akandil, 1996 yılında Boğaziçi Üniversitesi İşletme 

Fakültesi’nden mezun olmuş, 2002 yılında aynı üniversitede 

MBA derecesini tamamladı. Meslek hayatına Pfizer İlaç 

firmasında başlayan Akandil; finans, satış, pazarlama, iş 

geliştirme, hayvan sağlığı gibi farklı departmanlarda görev 

almasını takiben, 2011 yılında Finans Direktörlüğü görevine 

atandı. 2014 yılında Ukrayna Genel Müdürü olan Akandil, 

sonrasında Rusya İş Geliştirme ve Geri Ödeme Direktörlüğü 

görevlerini yürüttü. 

2017 yılında Amgen firmasına Türkiye, Ortadoğu, Afrika 

Stratejik Planlama Direktörü olarak geçen Oğuz Akandil;

ile bu yıl da Avrupa liderliği koltuğunu korudu 

Turkey maintained its European leadership 

position this year with 7 public hospitals that 

achieved stage 7 at HIMSS EMRAM. 

Hosting international business meetings and discussing in 

the field of health informatics and technologies for three 

days with over 700 participants and over 1500 digital 

participants from 25 countries, HIMSS + Eurasia witnessed 

the award ceremony of HIMSS EMRAM stage 6 and 7 

hospitals on its last day. 

Public hospitals which deserved the award this year with 

their success in the digitalization of hospitals in Turkey, 

received their awards from Dr. Şuayip Birinci, Deputy 

Minister of Health of the Republic of Turkey. 

Bringing together the health leaders of Turkey and 

Regional Countries and at where the future of health 

informatics and technology in Turkey and the world was 

being discussed, HIMSS Eurasia Health Informatics and 

Technologies Conference and Fair ended on Friday, 19

and cooperation in the field of health. Expressing their

sessions were held, health informatics companies, health

Ödülü aldı 

TÜSEB tarafından, yaptığı çalışmalarla sağlık bilim ve

katkılarda bulunabilecek niteliklere sahip olduğunu 

kanıtlamış kişilere verilen TÜSEB Teşvik Ödülüne beş bilim

and preventive health, infectious diseases such as Covid 19 

and nuclear radiological biological and chemical threats are 

the focal points of today, Birinci mentioned that in this new 

setup, Turkey should experience the development process 

designed as a vertical growth area in the health system. 

Drawing attention to the importance of an innovation 

process in which all stakeholders are included, along with 

developments in human capital, sustainability, health 

literacy and technology, Birinci noted that “increasing costs 

in health services”, “increased demand for health services” 

and “changing social values and mobility” await change 

processes for hospitals in the future.

kapanışı konuşmasını “Sağlığın geleceğini 

yönetmek” başlıklı sunumu ile yaptı 

T.C. Sağlık Bakan Yardımcısı Dr. Şuayip Birinci, HIMSS 

+ Eurasia’nın kapanışında sağlığın geleceğini yönetmek 

başlıklı bir sunum yaptı. Biyoterapi ve genetik gibi yenilikçi 

tedaviler, yapay zeka ve big data ile koruyucu sağlığı 

kapsayan dijital sağlık, Covid 19 gibi bulaşıcı hastalıklar 

ve nükleer radyolojik biyolojik ve kimyasal tehditler gibi 

konuların bugünün odak noktaları olduğuna dikkat çeken 

Birinci, bu yeni kurguda Türkiye’nin sağlık sisteminde 

dikey büyüme alanı olarak kurgulanan kalkınma 

sürecini yaşaması gerektiğine değindi. Beşeri sermaye, 

sürdürülebilirlik, sağlık okur yazarlığı ve teknoloji alanında 

gelişmelerle birlikte tüm paydaşların dahil edildiği 

bir inovasyon sürecinin önemine dikkat çeken Birinci, 

hastaneleri ileride “sağlık hizmetlerinde artan maliyetler”, 

“sağlık hizmet talep artışı” ve “değişen sosyal değerler

Adil Pelister: “We are getting ready to set a 

new record as the chemical industry”

Exports of the chemical industry grew by 

36.78 percent in the third quarter 

Kimya sektörünün ihracatı üçüncü çeyrekte 

yüzde 36,78 büyüdü 

Adil Pelister, Chairman of the Board of the Istanbul 

Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters’ Association 

(IKMIB), made a written assessment of Turkey’s 2021 third 

quarter growth data announced by the Turkish Statistical 

Institute (TUIK). 

Pelister noted in his assessment: 

“It is pleasing that the Turkish economy, which grew by 7 

percent in the first quarter and 21.7 percent in the second 

quarter this year, grew by 7.4 percent in the third quarter. 

Compared to the second quarter, there is a 2.7 percent 

growth. 

Growing with a focus on production and exports is 

important not only in terms of our country’s growth 

strategy, but also in terms of sustainability. We see that the 

largest contribution to growth comes from exports and 

public expenditures, with 10 percent growth in the industry 

and 20.7 percent in the services sector. The contribution of 

net exports to growth was 6.8 points. Exports increased by 

25.6 percent year-on-year in the third quarter. 

Our chemical industry, which is one of the biggest 

contributors to growth and the country’s economy with its 

production and export power, grew by 36.78 percent with 

6.26 billion dollars of exports in the third quarter. In terms 

of quantity, there was a growth of 12.50% in the third 

quarter. Exports of chemicals and products realized in the 

first three quarters of this year increased by 38.95 percent 

and reached 18.25 billion dollars. As the chemical industry, 

which is one of the leading one of this strong growth 

performance, we are preparing to set a new record with 

24 billion dollars in exports this year.” 

İstanbul Kimyevi Maddeler ve Mamulleri İhracatçıları 

Birliği (İKMİB) Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Adil Pelister, 

bugün Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu (TÜİK) tarafından 

açıklanan Türkiye’nin 2021 yılı üçüncü çeyrek büyüme 

verilerine ilişkin yazılı bir değerlendirme yaptı. 

Pelister değerlendirmesinde şunları kaydetti: 

“Bu yıl ilk çeyrekte yüzde 7, ikinci çeyrekte yüzde 21,7 

büyüyen Türkiye ekonomisinin üçüncü çeyrekte yüzde 7,4 

büyümesi memnuniyet verici. İkinci çeyreğe göre de yüzde 

2,7’lik bir büyüme söz konusu. 

Üretim ve ihracat odaklı büyümek ülkemizin büyüme 

stratejisi olduğu kadar sürdürülebilirlik bakımından da 

önem taşıyor. Büyümeye en fazla katkının ihracat ve kamu 

harcamalarından geldiğini, sanayide büyümenin yüzde 10, 

hizmetler sektöründe ise yüzde 20,7 olarak gerçekleştiğini 

görüyoruz. Net ihracatın büyümeye katkısı 6,8 puan oldu. 

İhracat üçüncü çeyrekte yıllık yüzde 25,6 arttı. 

Üretim ve ihracat gücüyle büyümeye ve ülke ekonomisine 

en çok katkı verenlerin başında olan kimya sektörümüz 

ise üçüncü çeyrekte gerçekleştirdiği 6,26 milyar dolarlık 

ihracat ile yüzde 36,78 büyüdü. Miktar bazında ise üçüncü 

çeyrekte yüzde 12,50’lik bir büyüme oldu. Bu yıl ilk üç 

çeyrekte gerçekleştirilen kimyevi maddeler ve mamulleri 

ihracatı ise yüzde 38,95 artışla 18,25 milyar dolara ulaştı. 

Bu güçlü büyüme performansının öncülerinden olan kimya 

sektörü olarak bu yıl ihracatta 24 milyar dolar ile yeni bir 

rekora imza atmaya hazırlanıyoruz.”
