• The issue of “impurity” of the woman in the postpartum period (11,48 %) andundertaking sexual activity 6 weeks after delivery (69,08 %),• The influence of magic and witchcraft on erotic life (48,96 %),• “Small penis” complex (flaccid – 80,72 %, erect 84,32 %),• Rejuvenating effect of young women on growing old men (44,66 %),• Issues concerning contraception (withdrawal method – 31,27 %; sexual initiation, totallack of conception risk – 54,49 %),• Homosexuality as pathology dangerous for the society (67,72 %),• “Professional witchcraft” of sexologists (68,25 %),• Possible sex positions (70,23 %).In the presented dissertation the Autor proved strong impact of the superstitions onnowadays sexuality in Poland.Although the participants of the research declared lack of belief in superstitions, in factthey often realized them in everyday life.Superstitions adherently presented in customs became undisputed, unquestionable, selfexplainedand play the role of dogmas.Following the superstitions reduced fear of not understanded, and dangerousphaenomenous playing the role of defence mechanisms (apotropeions).Moreover the agreement with superstitions was caused by mental immobility orunwillingness to fight with life difficulties explained by human helplessness, or motivated bysimple laziness. It’s easier to use the superstition, for example the magic gesture, or formulathan to make decision demanding effort and action.The ultimate conclusion derived from the results of the study is the statement that theonly method of fighting the superstitions concerning sexuality is the elimination of theunderlying fear resulting from the lack of knowledge.
