NAVIGATING THE ROAD TO SUCCESS.....2006/07 STRATEGIC PLANNINGTHE MISSION OFCCCSIG IS TOENHANCETHE HUMAN &FINANCIALRESOURCES OF OURMEMBERSIN ORDER TOCONTRIBUTE TO& ENHANCE PUBLICEDUCATIONHEALTH BENEFIT PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTSDecember 31, 2006 will mark the end of the second program year of the CCCSIG Health Benefits Program for member districts - BrentwoodUnion SD, Byron Union SD, Lafaytte SD, Moraga SD, Oakley Union Elementary SD, St. Helena USD and Walnut Creek SD. There were no newmemberships added to the program; however, all current member districts have renewed for the 2007 plan year. Renewal rate increases for PPOand HMO were held at 15.2% and 14.2% respectively.Highlights of the 2005/06 Health Benefits Program:* Aggressive health and wellness program using the Wellness Fund, received from Blue Cross at the inception of the program in October2004. Two full-scale area Health Fairs - offered to all member district employees - were held in Brentwood & Walnut Creek. The activities- offered at no cost - included Health Screenings, Cardio and Healthy Cooking demos, Therapeutic Chair Reflexology Masages, andrepresentatives from Blue Cross of CA and Kaiser Permanente. In addition, local health clubs and sporting goods stores rounded out theprogram.* This fall during open enrollment, flu shots will be offered free to subscribers and at-cost to non-Blue Cross members.* Health Benefit Program Committee members meet monthly to review legislative healthcare updates, Health Benefit Program loss ratiostatistics and “education”, with recent focus being on HSAs (Health Savings Accounts) for possible inclusion in member districts’programs in the future.A special thank you to all of CCCSIG’s Health Benefits Committee representatives - Margaret Kruse, Brentwood-Chair; Lenee Cadotte, Lafayette-Vice-Chair; Bev Nicolaisen, Byron; Kathy Bell, Moraga; Jan Carlson, Oakley; Cheri Folendorf, St. Helena; Debra Fogarty, Walnut Creek and nonmemberdistrict representatives for the CCCSIG Executive Committee Roberta Silverstein, San Ramon Valley and Chris Learned, Acalanes, fortheir conscientious interest and dedication to the program.HEALTH BENEFITS PROGRAMCCCSIG BOARD OF DIRECTORSCCCSIG’s Board of Directors includes one person from each district to represent the needs of all members.
