NATIONAL UNITY AND SOLIDARITY
C
ountry is a geography where
our cultural values exist. Even
though this geography seems
like an ordinary piece of land at the at
first glance, bloodshed and death for
the sake of it in case of danger, everything
in it such as its rocks, soil, rivers,
mountains carries different kind of
meaning. Along with this meaning, unity
in language, religion,history,morals,
culture and ideals, common feelings
and aims on uses and customs and
common behaviors make a nationall
together. Nation and the country look
like a soul and body. Anation should
live on its country without disrupting
the unity and solidarity and without
division and fragmentation.Merely in
this case, the members of those nations
can live in peace and happiness.
Throughout Turkish history, favorable
outcomes resultant of national unity
and solidarity are as deep as the past
and richness of the history itself. Each
one of the established Turkish statethroughout
history is a good example
of thisnational unity and solidarity.To
give a case in point from our recent
history, beyond any doubt, this should
be TurkishWar of Independence. After
losingthe World War I and due to
the bad consequences for the Turkish
land and nation, the whole world
thought that ‘This is the end of the
Turks’; Contrary this thought, Anatolian
people fromevery town such
as Kars, Diyarbakır, Erzurum, Sivas,
Ankara, İzmir, Edirne showed a great
example fornational unity and solidarityunder
the leadership of Atatürk and
theyacted together and liberated their
country from the invasion of the enemies.
Our nationshowed us that the
difficulties of Independence War could
be smoothed away in unity and solidarity
and they proved us that there is
no obstacle forus to overcome.
We never forget that
this piece of soil covered
by blood and
tears of hundreds of
thousands martyrs
is the most precious
relic for us from our
ancestors. We are
heirs of such generations
thatdespite all
impossibilities, they
have never fallen
into despair, ended
their faithful and unyielding
struggle for
their independence
up a great victory
without compromisingtheir
sovereignty.
When solidarity, unity, common ideals
and aims come true,human groups
become nations. Mass is not a crowd
of people anymore.Generations have
got a nation to belongto and a country
to feel proud of living on. So that unity
of faith, unity and consciousness of
history can rise. Henceforth, members
of such a nation unite in faith, trouble
and pleasure; they also become such
people that they are respectful each
other, get along with together and
act and succeed together.If that is so,
works created by human hand and labor
have a major role to make a land as
a country.The concept of country may
progresses and gain depth with the
works ofculture and civilization.
We never forget that this piece of soil

most precious relic for us from our
ancestors. We are heirs of such generations
thatdespite all impossibilities,
they have never fallen into despair,
ended their faithful and unyielding
struggle for their independence up

we still martyr our sons to protect that
precious relic against the attacks to
our unity, solidarity and sovereignty
of our nation and country. We need to
be alert against those cyclical threats
against our peace and sovereignty and
we must protect our state in national
unity and solidarity.
With these thoughts and feelings, I
remember our saintly martyrs,we lost
in malicious attacks, with mercy, gratitude
and respect; I express my condolences
for their families and our nation;
I wish a healthy life for our veteran
soldiers foughtheroically against terrorism.

Vatan, kültürel değerlerimizin
bulunduğu bir coğrafyadır.
Bu coğrafya ilk bakışta bir
kara parçası gibi görünse de, bu kara
parçası tehlikeye girdiği zaman, uğrunda
dökülen kanlar ve verilen canlar
sayesinde taşı, toprağı, dağı, ırmağı başka
bir anlam taşır. Bu anlamla birlikte dil,
din, tarih, kültür ve ülkü birliği, ahlakta,
terbiyede, örf ve adetlerde ortak duygu
ve hedefler, ortak davranışlar da milleti
oluşturur. Millet ile vatan, ruhla vücut
gibidir. Millet, kendi vatanında birlik
ve dirliği bozmadan, ayrılıp parçalanmadan
yaşamalıdır. Ancak bu takdirde
o milletin fertleri huzurlu ve mutlu bir
hayat sürebilirler.
Türk tarihinde, milli birlik ve beraberliğin
ortaya çıkardığı olumlu sonuçlar,
tarihin zenginliği ve geçmişi kadar derindir.
Kurulan her devlet, bu milli birlik
ve beraberliğin en güzel örneklerindendir.
Ancak bu konuda yakın tarihimizden
bir örnek verecek olursak,
hiç şüphesiz bu, Kurtuluş Savaşı olacaktır.
Birinci Dünya Savaşı’nın kaybedilmesinden
sonra Türk milleti adına
ortaya çıkan ağır sonuçlar karşısında
bütün dünyanın “Türkler bitti” düşüncesine
karşın, Atatürk’ün önderliğinde
büyük bir milli birlik ve beraberlik
örneği gösteren Anadolu insanı, Karslı,
Diyarbakırlı, Erzurumlu, Sivaslı, Ankaralı,
İzmirli, Edirneli olarak harekete
geçerek vatanını düşman işgalinden
kurtarmıştır. Milletimiz, Kurtuluş
Savaşı sıkıntılarını birlik ve beraberlik
içerisinde yenebildiğini gösterdikten
sonra, aşamayacağı engelin de olmadığını
kanıtlamıştır.
Birlik, bütünlük, ortak ideal ve hedefler
gerçekleşince insan toplulukları millet
haline gelir. Kitle, kalabalık olmaktan
çıkar. Nesiller mensup olduğu bir millete
ve üzerinde yaşamakta iftihar ettiği
bir vatana sahip olur. Kader birliği,
tarih birliği ve şuuru böylece doğar.
Artık böyle bir milletin mensupları,
Yüz binlerce şehit
verilerek, kan ve
gözyaşları ile yoğrulan
bu toprakların,
atalarımızın bize
bıraktığı en değerli
emanet olduğunu
unutmamalıyız.
Bizler, bütün imkânsızlıklara
rağmen
hiçbir zaman umutsuzluğa
kapılmayan,
bağımsızlığından
asla taviz vermeyen,
inanç ve kararlılıkla
sürdürdüğü İstiklal
mücadelesini zaferle
neticelendiren bir
neslin mirasçılarıyız.
kaderde, tasada ve kıvançta bir olurlar;
birbirlerini seven, sayan, kolayca anlaşabilen,
birlikte hareket edip başarabilen
insanlar haline gelirler. O halde,
vatanın meydana gelmesinde insan
elinin ve emeğinin tabiata kattığı nice
eserlerin de büyük rolü vardır. Vatan
anlayışı kültür ve medeniyet eserleriyle
gelişir; derinlik kazanır.
Yüz binlerce şehit verilerek, kan ve
gözyaşları ile yoğrulan bu toprakların,
atalarımızın bize bıraktığı en değerli
emanet olduğunu unutmamalıyız.
Bizler, bütün imkânsızlıklara rağmen
hiçbir zaman umutsuzluğa kapılmayan,
bağımsızlığından asla taviz vermeyen,
inanç ve kararlılıkla sürdürdüğü
İstiklal mücadelesini zaferle neticelendiren
bir neslin mirasçılarıyız. Dün olduğu
gibi bugün de Ülkemizin ve Milletimizin
bölünmez bütünlüğü ile birlik
ve beraberliğimize yönelen saldırılarda,
bu emaneti korumak üzere şehitler
vermekteyiz. Dönem dönem artan,
huzur ve bağımsızlığımıza yönelen bu
tehditlere karşı teyakkuzda olmalı, milli
birlik ve beraberlik içinde Devletimize
sahip çıkmalıyız.
Bu duygu ve düşüncelerle vatanımızı,
milletimizi bölmeye çalışan hainlerin
kalleşçe saldırıları sonucu kaybettiğimiz
aziz şehitlerimizi rahmetle,
minnetle ve saygıyla anıyor, kederli
ailelerine ve Milletimize başsağlığı
ve sabırlar diliyor, terörle mücadele
sırasında kahramanca mücadele eden
gazilerimize de sağlıklı ömürler diliyorum.
