Professor John Arnold<br />
Loughborough School of Business and Economics<br />
Professor Laura Spence<br />
School of Management, Royal Holloway<br />
John Arnold is Professor of Organizational Behaviour and Director<br />
of Research Impact at Loughborough School of Business and<br />
Economics. He is a Fellow and Chartered Psychologist of the British<br />
Psychological Society and was a panel member for Business &<br />
Management in both RAE 2008 and REF 2014. John is a leading<br />
expert in the field of career theory and in this talk he will be bringing<br />
his considerable experience to bear on considering career issues for<br />
<strong>PhD</strong> students.<br />
Laura Spence is Professor of Business Ethics and Director of<br />
Research Impact at Royal Holloway, University of London. She is<br />
also co-Chair of the Centre for Research Into Sustainability (CRIS)<br />
and has conducted and published a wealth of studies around<br />
corporate responsibility. At the conference, Laura will be discussing<br />
the impact of ‘research impact’ on early career researchers<br />

The <strong>PhD</strong> <strong>Conference</strong> represents an excellent opportunity for current<br />
research students to gain feedback from their peers, other<br />
academics and from visitors from other disciplines. First year<br />
students will be presenting their research during a poster session,<br />
and students from second year and above will be giving an oral<br />
presentation of their research thus far.
