• Began two way referral relationship with Oxford CAB, <strong>of</strong>fering participants personal<br />
budgeting and financial management advice, and receiving referrals from CAB <strong>of</strong><br />
potential participants in the <strong>project</strong> needing further support around benefits advice<br />
and moving into employment<br />
• A JCP employment adviser began a secondment to the team to deliver a series <strong>of</strong><br />
initiatives to help participants in the <strong>project</strong> to find employment and support<br />
opportunities<br />
July <strong>2014</strong><br />
• JCP employment adviser began meeting customers as internal team referrals,<br />
gauging needs and customer options prior to other activity or referrals<br />
• Delivered first quarterly claim and progress report to DWP outlining our early<br />
activities in the <strong>project</strong><br />
August <strong>2014</strong><br />
• We commissioned WEA to run Communicating With Confidence courses for <strong>project</strong><br />
participants. The courses were held at Oxfordshire Community and Voluntary Action<br />
(OCVA)<br />
• Started monthly casework meetings with an employment coach from Aspire. Aspire<br />
run job clubs at a number <strong>of</strong> community centres in the city, and <strong>project</strong> participants<br />
are referred to Aspire for one-to-one support and to attend job clubs regularly<br />
September <strong>2014</strong><br />
• Submitted second quarterly claim and progress report to DWP outlining our activities<br />
and outcomes in the <strong>project</strong><br />
• WEA ran Preparation For Work courses for participants at OCVA<br />
• <strong>Team</strong> attended Rose Hill Community Lunch, <strong>of</strong>fering advice and support to residents<br />
• @Ox<strong>Welfare</strong><strong>Reform</strong> Twitter account gets 13.8K impressions and 708 pr<strong>of</strong>ile visits<br />
October <strong>2014</strong><br />
• The first job fair event was held in the Assembly Room at Oxford Town Hall on 1<br />
October. This was a successful collaboration between the team and JCP, with more<br />
than 40 employers with live vacancies, 700 attendees and extensive broadcast, print,<br />
and digital media coverage<br />
• EMBS employment coach started to meet selected participants and help them with<br />
advice and access to a range <strong>of</strong> English, IT and maths courses<br />
November <strong>2014</strong><br />
• The team had a stand at a Support Fair <strong>of</strong> local organisations at Oxfordshire County<br />
Council on 6 November<br />
