Croydon Schools Competition
On Wednesday 4th May, our Year 9 athletes celebrated a victorious afternoon at the Croydon Schools Athletics Competition.
All of our athletes gave great performances, with winners and finalists in almost every event. There were over 16 other
Croydon schools in attendance and our student’s behaviour was impeccable.
Congratulations to all of the competitors, with a special mention for Ben Glover who finished 1st in the Shot Put (Ben has
been a medallist 3 years in a row), to Brooke Ramsay who finished 2nd in Hurdles (and champion for the previous 2 years), to
Matthew Amoah-Larbi who came 3rd in Triple Jump and to Shannell Malcolm who finished 3rd in High Jump. We also had
a number of finalists in other events including Morgan Edwards in the 100m, Di-zir Smith in the 200m, Devonte Smith in the
300m, Michael Valencia who finished in the top 5 for High Jump and Amelia Guthrie Kirby who finished in the top 5 for Javelin.
Road Safety Assembly
On Wednesday 13th April, the Academy hosted the Tiny
Giants Theatre Group and the Croydon Road Safety Team,
who performed a stimulating and informative Road Safety
performance for Year 9 students.
The performance illustrated the importance of staying safe
around traffic, not just when students are alone, but as part of
larger groups. The story was based on true events, which made
the dramatic scenes even more poignant. The students were
engaged throughout the performance and appreciated the
balance of drama and comedy.
