Dear students,
Nowadays nursing is one of the most popular professions of
the health profession. It is preferred by students from every
region of our country. Nursing is the protection, promotion, and
optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and
injury, facilitation of healing, alleviation of suffering through the
diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in
the care of individuals, families, groups, communities, and
populations. The education and training offered at Bolu School
of Health Sciences of is led by expert and well recognized
academics in the nursing field, using the latest technology and
a student-centered approach. Our students can study abroad
thanks to arrangements with other countries. In our university
nursing students provide opportunities for academic
advancement programs with master and doctoral programs.
Nursing profession has the wide range of working field and our
graduates are able to find jobs easily. We aim to train
professional nurses with social facilities and with quality
education to make the difference in the future. For more

In our nursing department includes medical nursing,
surgical nursing, obstetrics and women's health, child
health, public health and mental health nursing in the
fields of education and our school offers many elective
courses be provided by experts in the field of lecturers.
Our courses are available such as tennis, swimming,
badminton, creative drama, art, music, ceramics to take
up their own hobby and to meet the interest level of our
students due to nursing that aims to help people is a
profession consisting of science and art.
English prep training will be given at the entrance to the
nursing department to improve foreign language
sufficiency of our students from 2016 if they want. Also,
they can be studied abroad during a period of education
and training or period of internship as part of Erasmus
agreements.

Abant Izzet Baysal University, one of the notewhorthy univesities in our country, located in an
area surrounded by natural beauties between two metropolis Istanbul and Ankara, was
founded on 3 July 1992. The university, which has been developing rapidly since its
foundation, has campuses in the city centre and three districts of Bolu (Gerede, Mengen,
Mudurnu). The main campus of the university, namely Izzet Baysal Campus, is located in
Gölköy, which is 8 km from the city center and surrounded by a unique natural beauty.
The university comprises 10 faculties, 4 institutes, 6 schools, 7 vocational schools and 13
research centers. 900 faculty members and 550administrative staff in the university are proud
to provide a quality and modern educational setting for about 25.000 students.

In the 1993-1994 academic year,
Abant Izzet Baysal University
Vocational School of Health was
opened; then on 16/01/1997 he
transformed into Bolu School of
Health and continues to
undergraduate education from
1997. Besides master’s program
and PhD program in nursing was
opened in 2015. Bolu School of
Health is located at Gölköy
Campus.

School of Health Career Activities
Career activities in Nursing has arranged by our
school since 2014. Leader personality and innovator
colleagues are gathered with students in these
activities.

According to the results from the study
which was applied in career activity ‘’The
effect of career activity to perception of
nursing profession and career plan’’, it was
found that;
• An increase in our students' opinions
about having knowledge on career
planning,
• The rising of their nursing perception and,
• A statistically significant difference in
favor of the post-test regarding having
professional career plans, wanting to
participate in research on nursing,
thinking they will have no problems
finding employment after graduation, and
wanting to continue with postgraduate
studies.

The main objective is the developing awareness
of professional nursing students and nursingspecific

theories, concepts, principles and methods
related to the ability to access information, to
evaluate and to gain the ability to do scientific
research. Moreover , to develop the philosophy
of education on nursing education and gain the
ability to use teaching principles and methods in
the teaching of the subject areas and thus
intended to specialize in nursing education field.
Nursing doctoral program aims to gain the
ability to reach a new synthesis and students of
nursing-specific key issues and theories which
they are based, concepts, principles and
methods in the advanced specialization,
independent and original research

Graduates of our department are employed in healthcare organizations. They are prepared to work in both national and international
settings. Employment opportunities are available in public and private sectors where nurses serve as staff and charge nurses, nurse
managers, advisors, consultants, researchers, and faculty. They are prepared to work in positions in preventive, curative, and
rehabilitative services. A recent nursing law also allows nurses to run private health stations where they can provide basic health care
service to society. Formation based training they can work as teachers in secondary schools. They want to work in the field of nurses
who have completed graduate, they can work in 'specialist nurses' status. When the graduates complete master and doctoral
education, they can be work as academician at nursing education institution.
