Slow Down<br />

You’re on holiday, take it slow. Take time to fully<br />

appreciate your meal <strong>and</strong> those you are sharing<br />

it with. Converse with your family, place your<br />

knife <strong>and</strong> fork down between bites, chew your<br />

food thoroughly, really savor the flavor <strong>and</strong><br />

texture of your meal. Not only will the whole<br />

experience be more enjoyable, you’ll also give<br />

your body the time it needs to register feeling<br />

full, so you won’t over-eat.<br />

Move Your Body<br />

Many of us equate exercise with punishment, <strong>and</strong> are determined<br />

to do as little as possible on holiday. As wonderful as it is to lay on<br />

a beach lounger for hours, it doesn’t do your body much good,<br />

especially after a heavy meal. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to go for a<br />

walk or cycle <strong>and</strong> explore your surroundings? Make the most of your<br />

hotel—swim a few lengths of the pool, look for yoga classes, or find a<br />

walking group that incorporates sightseeing. Exercise is a wonderful<br />

stress reliever <strong>and</strong> releases endorphins in the body which create a<br />

sense of wellbeing—exactly ow you want to feel on your holiday.<br />

Be Prepared<br />

Your holiday begins with the journey. While<br />

your destination may be filled to the brim<br />

with healthful <strong>and</strong> delicious food, airports are<br />

notorious for their lack of healthy options. Pack<br />

some nutritious snacks, like nuts <strong>and</strong> dried fruits,<br />

for when you get hungry. This way, you won’t<br />

be tempted by the c<strong>and</strong>y <strong>and</strong> pastries on offer.<br />

Start your holiday as you mean to go on—with a<br />

conscious decision to make healthy choices <strong>and</strong><br />

give your body what it really wants.<br />

Come Back Feeling Amazing<br />

Holidays are a time of rest <strong>and</strong> recuperation for the body<br />

<strong>and</strong> soul. Make the most of your break by savoring your food<br />

mindfully, enjoying time with your loved ones <strong>and</strong> exploring your<br />

surroundings, so that you can come back feeling better than ever.<br />
