Twenty two Year 8/9 pupils and two Year 10 mentors headed off with Mrs McKeever to Shannaghmore
Outdoor Education Centre in November, with twenty young people from Clounagh Junior High School.
The trip was part of the TBUC programme that we have been collaborating with Clounagh Junior High
School since September. The weather was cold, but the welcome from everyone was warm. We had a
great time challenging ourselves with new activities and making new friends in the process.
There was a lot of laughter, plenty of chatter, encouraging instructors, an abundance of delicious food,
comfortable bedrooms, but perhaps not as much sleep as we all needed! The teachers involved in the
programme are delighted to hear that many of the young people from both schools have intentions to
meet up with their new friends outside workshop time.
Year 9 Trip to the STEM Centre
Year 9 pupils visted the STEM Centre in Dungannon on Thursday
17 th November. Pupils took part in the Titanic workshop, where
they had to build a ship that floats. They created a presentation
on the Titanic using the Ipads and presented it to the group.
They then used ‘Google Sketch’ to digitally re-create parts of the
ship. A very enjoyable day was had by all.
