Port Klang Jetty
Pulau Ketam, literally translated, means “crab island”, the reason of putting this name
to the island is because tjis island is crad habitat, so a lot chinese people they want to
chat thee crab the they stay in the island, this small island is off the coast of Klang, it
is easily to accessible, from Port Klang jetty by ferry then can reach there, Pulau
Ketam is the best plsce to let visitors to experience the lifestyle of fishermen, and at
the island visitors also can see some special view that we cannot get it in city and this
will be the best opporcunity to let people to get away from the air polutions, traffic
jams, finding car parking problem and so on.
The other village on the northeastern side called Sungai Lima (Fifth River), this is the
island that nearby Pulau Ketam, this island is smaller than Pulau Ketam. Sungai it
mean river, why called Sungai Lima is because actuall Pulau Ketam actually have five
river, Pulau Ketam located in the first river, second river is for aborigines, and river
three and four have no people life at there, so Sugai Lima is located at the fifth river
in Pulau Ketam, this is the reason of the name come from. In Sungai Lima it almost
have 200 of people is live at there, from Pulau Ketam to Sugai Lima it just need 10
minute.
To get there, by Car:
Drive to Port Klang Jetty and take a ferry.
By Train:
With KTM, buy your ticket to Pelabuhan Klang (Port Klang), then walk out from the
station for a very short distance you will see the jetty.

Sungai Lima
Sungai Lima is just seem like Pulau Ketam, have a jetty to let visitors in and out, the
road of Sungai Lima is show in a “t” shape, the island is small but at there you can
feel peaceful and quiet, is a good place for people to relex.

Hot Stops
1. Mother & Son fishing-boat
The fishermen that live in Sugai Lima they have a special fishing-boat call
Mother and Son fishing boat, the reason of they put this name is because the
big fishing-boat is do not have engine so it cannot move by itself, so the
smaller fishing-bout will carry the big fishing-bout to fishing, the reason that
they did I this way is because they out out fishing is not just go for few hours,
some time they need to stay on the sea few day, so they bring the big fishingboat
to there for them to sleep, washing, or eating.
2. Wall Painting

Wall painting is ne of the big point that attarct people to come to the place, in
Malaysia the first palce that have wall painting is Penang, now Sungai Lima
also have follow the trend, at Sugai Lima you can easily find wall painting
anywhere, and all the painting is really artistic, so you can with you firend,
family or partner get a beautiful picture at there.
3. One-Armed Crab
One-armed crab is a specific crab that you just can see it at Pula Ketam or
Sugai Lima, the reason that they called this name is because this crab their one
side of pincer is really bigger than the other side of pincer, so people called
them one-armen crab.
4. Experience the life style of fishermen
In Sungai Lima you can feel their life style is really tradition, they do not have
much of technology in the island, the people that live at there most of them are
vary kind amd friendly, this palce let me feel clam and peace, in this island
you even can feel your time, in the city you are rushing here and there but in
the island you will feel you have lot of time to let you to spend, and I like this
feeling.

5. Zhen Long Temple
This temple at this island had more than 100 years of history, and this is a
really beautiful temple. In Sungai Lima you can see anywhere is temple, this is
because the people that live in there they belief god can bring them a good
weather so they build a lot of diferent type of temple.
6. Liu Jia Zhuang Black Sugar Cake
This is a famous dessert that in Sungai Lima, the feeling of this cake is soft, a
bit sweet and it have strong smell of the black sugar, this cake is totally hand
make by the landlady, so it is limited, if you are going to there in big season,
you can make oder befor you go.

7. Read bean ABC
When you feel tire and hot, read bean ABC ice is your best choice, it is sweet
but is not over, inside it have read bean, corn, coconut milk, rose juice and
jelly, this can let you recover your energy fast, because it relieve you hotness.

8. Fish Farm
Visit to fish farm you can learn a lot of new information about fish, at there it
have a lot of type of fish, so of you want they will have people explain to you
what is that fish and how to foster the fish.
9. Mangrove
When you take ferry go back to the jetty or Pulau Ketam you can look outside
your window, you will see the trees beside the river, this tree called mangrove,
this tree is been protect by our government, and you just can saw it in the
water that is between rive and sea, this is the only tree that can live in this
environment, and the weather requirement selve country.
10. Home Stay
At Sungai Lima it do not have hotel for visitor, but at there they have few
home stay that we can choice, most of the home stay they will prepare trip
schedule for their customers, like go to feed eagle, eat seafood BBQ at home
stay or experience fishing.

Pulau Ketam
when you reach jetty Pulau Ketam, you can feel the sea breeze blow on your face, if
that time is falling tide you can see at the beach have a lot of small crab walk here and
there, and in this time you can try to fing the One-Armed Crab at the beach, it is like a
treasure hunt, because at the beach that have few more type of crab it is not easy to
find it, but actually for me the One-Armed Crab is easy to recognize, so this is the
time to know whether you have good observetion skill or not.
Fire Station
This fire station is build from the year of 1972, the reason is because in year 1967 it
had fire disaster in their island, the fire burn out almost 200 of house in the island, so
after that they build a fire station in their island for emergency case and this fire
station is the only fire station in th island.

Police Station
This police station build from the year of 1896, the security in Pulau Ketam is good,
you get know this from their life stey, all of their house it just have a small gate, when
you stride then you can go into the house, so from here you can see the people that
live at there they feel secure.
Pulau Ketam is a small island, but at there they have all the facility that they need,
example bank, clinic, post office, and also telecommunication system.
When you already in Pulau Ketam you choice you want to use bicycle or walk around
the island, my suggestion is using bicycle because this island use walk through is big,
but if using bicycle it is easy for you to find all the hot stops that you want, and also
you can experience how the people that they live at this island. You can use your
bicycle to cycling around the island the find food, wall painting, or just enjoy the
feeling cycling, it is really relex.

Hot Stops
1. Food (in morning)
In Pulau Ketam there have so many food that you can fing it in morning, like
7am they already start to doing their business, so you no need to worry about
when you weak up you cannot find something to fulfill your empty stomach. It
have some special foods is you can find it in morning, example Green Bean
pastry, Pandan Soya, seafood nasi lemak, Ci Gen Noodle, and some chinese
pastry.

2. Dried Shrimp & Salted Fish
Dried shrimp and salted fish you can see it in Pulau Ketam anywhere, because
fishing is their main way to let them making money, so when they have some
small fish or small shrimp that they cannot sale to others they will make it
become dried shrimp and salted fish then they sale to customers.
3. Bao Sheng Temple
In Bao Sheng temple there have one big snake, when festival come the
valligers they like to come here and pray to the snake, because this snake is
seem like the god bring it come to this island for protect them, beside snake
there also have tortoise, the reason of they put tortoise is because the god of
Bao Sheng temple left leg stamp on the tortoise and right leg stamp on the
snake.

4. Others Temple
The second thing that you can see it anywhere is temple, the people that live
island they are really believe in god, because this is the only think that can
give them emotional support, like example their husband go out fishing and
the weather is not good, so the only thing that they can do is pray to the god. If
you are the person that like to visit temple, Pulau Ketam is one of the best
palce that you can choose.
5. Rabbit Farm ( 乐 在 流 星 园 )
Before that here really have rabbits, but because of on one take care them so
now this farm already do not have any rabbit leave at there, however here do
not have rabbits here still is a goog place to let visitors take picture, here been
maintain good, do not have much of destroy, so if you are the person that like
to take picture with friends or family you can choice here.

6. First Bride
This is the first bride that been build in Pulau Ketam, so when you past by
here, you can take a photo at there.
7. Wall Painting
At here you also can find some wall painting here and there, so if you interes,
you can stop and take a pictures.
8. Lover Bride
There have no special reason for why they put this name, it just a place that
they crate for visitors to take picture.
9. Zhong Hua Cinema
This is a traditional style chinese cinema, but now already abondan, for now it
just a view for visitors to take picture. Look at this cinema I can feel that the
people live in this island they reserve a lot of chinese tradition.

10. Fishing Net
In Pulau Ketam the fishermen they make their fishing net by themselve, the
blue color one is for catch fish, and the iron one is for catch crab or something
more bigger, so for the roll of ball is the mark of where they put the net.
11. Food (afternoon)
In afternoon you can find some home restaurant, like this they open the
restaurant at their house, the foods that we eat is fish and duck porridge and
curry chicken, the taste are not really special but it give me the feeling of
home. Afernoon is the time that the sun in the middle, you will feel really hot,
so in this time you can go to find some shop to buy some ice to release your
hotness.
12. Seaffod restaurant
If you want to eat low price of seafood the better way is you ask the people
that live at there, they will tell you with restaurant is cheap and delicious. My
suggestion restaurant is Jia Jia, this restaurant sale two crab only RM80.

13. Supper
After 10pm you still want to eat something? Don’t worry, at Pulau Ketam until
11.30pm you are still able to find food to eat, like prawn with egg, BBQ
sleeve-fish, or some cool syrup.
14. Night View
Night time Pulau Ketam is vary beautiful, it quiet, peacful, and freash, in that
time you can temporary forget about your work, your responsibility, and just
enjoy the moment with your friends or family.
