风 格 ” 呢 ?

格 ” 的 问 题 。 我 们 也 问 了 世 界 各 地 的 同 事 , 事

格 ”。 一 般 来 说 , 我 们 认 为 它 的 含 义 就 是 有 明 显

ARE WE HEADING?
Demographic change, digitization, and a more
mindful approach to our environment will continue
to have a bearing on the specific design of
living spaces in 2018. The focus is thus returning
to a natural look and authenticity in decors.
When putting together Decor Selection 2018,
we concentrated on one overriding question:
how “rustic” do we want to go, or should we go,
with our decors in the future?
Of course, this in turn prompts the question of
what we actually mean by “rustic”. We also asked
our colleagues across the world, who, it turns
out, interpret “rustic” in a wide variety of ways.
In general, we understand it to mean decors
that feature marked cracks, knots, and extreme
“flaws”. Distressed or DIY looks also fall into this
category.
For the time being, the industry is continuing
to focus on rustic decors, as these go over well
with end customers. This is due to the fact that
strikingly rustic designs have a natural feel and
represent an authentic, well-loved material. The
rustic trend is now making itself felt in stores
and living spaces around the world. And it is
also clear that the rustic look has progressed
from a saw-cut appearance to one that features
extreme flaws. That said, some markets
and designers already consider rustic decors to
be too artificial and overpowering for furniture
surfaces.
