Internship Development & Guidelines Wolstein Center Internship Job Description Spring 2010 Marketing Department Internship Works directly with Marketing Director to develop and manage marketing budget and media placement for upcoming events. Assist in the development of increased revenue streams by implementing new and exciting promotional concepts for various concerts and events. Cold calling to area businesses, local groups/organizations, and individuals to sell groups, and VIP/corporate outing ticket packages for concerts and events. Assist in the development of “grass roots” marketing/sales and promotion campaigns, for arena events. Assist in developing and maintaining direct mail lists and email campaigns using demographic and market research/analysis. Develop press releases and public/community relations activities for upcoming events. Plan and implement grass roots marketing programs for the Conference Center, identifying prospects for meetings, seminars, and banquets. Continue to develop programs to market arena/events to CSU students, faculty, and staff. Assist in all areas of event day preparation, including media, meet & greets, and concourse displays, 7 Wolstein Center Internship Job Description Spring 2010 Event Services Internship • Learns successful event coordination activities by working with Event Services Manager, and Event Supervisors, day of show. • Assists Event Services Manager in all day-to-day work assignments for Event Services Department, day of show, as well as ‘dark’ days. • Researches, reviews and recommends equipment, materials and supplies required in providing event services and planning. • Coordinates with Event Services Manager, and the Marketing Department, all media entry into the facility before, during or immediately following events. • Maintains the proper image and generates positive public relations with patrons and staff. • Works extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed. • Meets with potential clients, advises them on the facility requirements and logistics related to their event. • Works with internal service departments (i.e. CSU Parking, CSU Police, First Aid, Peer Group Security) to provide quality service to patrons. • Monitors all housekeeping requirements during arena events. • Serves as liaison for all facility clients to ensure highest level of customer service for all external service providers. • Helps develop policies and procedures for the Event Services Department in conjunction with the Event Services Manager. 8
