CHUMAK WAY TO
NORTH AMERICA
What is it?
I
t is a project organized by veterans of ATO and supported by
“ATO Veteran’s Union of Kyiv” and sportsmen.
The ride will cover 10,000 km. through 19 states or provinces,
include stops in major Canadian Cities such as: Vancouver, Edmonton,
Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto, Hamilton, Ottawa, and Montreal, in
duration will take place from May to August – 100 days.
The cyclists will stop in major cities to show the latest films
about the war from the Donbas front, provide stories by the riders
and ATO members about the war, and interactive dialogue with
the audiences.
Part of the presentations will include new product trends from
Ukraine, displays of Ukrainian brand name products, new technology
emerging from Ukraine and projects available.
Also the media sponsor from Ukraine Channel 1 + 1 will be looking
for subjects to air in Ukraine about the Canadian Ukrainian
Diaspora and life in Canada, success stories, etc.
Any sales profits of souvenirs or products will go to assist ATO
veterans and anyone that has suffered because of the war.
What are the goals of the project?
Show Ukrainian spirit around the world and especially in
Ukraine, improve the image of Ukraine, unite Ukrainians around
the world, promote companies and innovations from Ukraine, and
finally assist those that have suffered because of the War in Donbas,
Ukraine.
What can we do as a Ukrainian community?
Join the Chumak Way cyclists along the route as cyclists or runners,
especially in proximity of major Canadian centres. Assist with
lodging and meals and support along the route.
Promote the event to other Canadian Ukrainians, involve our
organizations to support this project, invite non-Ukrainians to the
events to find out about the reality of the war, get Canadian media
to keep events of the War in Ukraine current for the world to see.

10 101.5FM in Winnipeg aired Nasha
Kasha - a Ukrainian Almanac. The
program is 28-minutes of stories and music
about Ukrainian life lived remarkably. The
program has been airing on 7 other campus
and community radio stations in Quebec
and Ontario since May 2016. The show is
hosted by well-known journalist and musician
Steve Andrusiak.
The shows are ad-free.
Kasha is any grain boiled in water or milk.
It is restorative, warm and like life - a bit
messy from time to time. It is “nasha” because
