привлекает внимание подборкой гармоничных цветов. Иногда контрастами, а иногда переходящими тонами. Larice, в

новой коллекции предстанет перед нами в новом виде. В сфере создания узоров на уровне марки и на модельной основе

идет в тему. В этом году, мы увидим и комбинированные модели используемые в группе с отдельными изделиями. Во

время создания этих комбинаций,следовали тематическим путем. И в следствии этого, появились изделия имеющие

New year, a new

adventure!

We’ve made an impressive entrance to 2019 with a full and vibrant issues.

Rather than stopping production and working in the times when the

economy is troubled, we believe that working harder will bring good days.

It is possible to see Baby & Kid Store wherever the industry exists. We

have our booths at important fairs where many national and international

visitors will take part.

On 17-19 January, we will take the place of the sector in Pitti Imagine

Bimbo, Italy. We will also be in Playtime Paris fair 26-28 January in France

and Kid’s Time on 20-22 February in Poland and CJF fair, 25-28 February in

Russia.

Victoria Secret will dazzle in

LINEXPO 2019 fair

Mustafa Nazik, Chairman of All Underwear

Industrialists Association,

said, “As Linexpo Istanbul Lingerie

& Hosiery Fair, we are preparing to open our

doors on 6th of February, with more than 150

exhibitors, all of which are domestic producers.

Fair will mostly host visitors from Arab

and North African countries, especially Balkans,

Russia and the Turkic Republics. We are

the country that dominates the production

of textile and leader in this field in the world

after China. Turkey noted significant momentum

over the years on this issue. However, the

production quality of the fabric variety increased.

The textile sector follows fashion. In

this process, as TIGSAD, our association has

pioneered the development of the sector and

managed to raise awareness about the lingerie

sector. Manufacturing firms’ quality standards

in Turkey are in good levels. As a result,

we have a good profile on the world market in

the field of socks.

Roadshow to 80 countries

Stating that the satisfaction of the participants

and the visitors is equal for Linexpo, he said,

“Therefore, we allocate a serious budget for

the promotional activities of our fair. In return,

Linexpo family continues to increase the

number of exhibitors and visitors every year. I

want to declare that this year KOSGEB support

for our fair has started this year, which is

organized in cooperation with Socks Industrialists’

Association (ÇSD) and All Underwear

and Industrialists Association (TİGSAD). With

the support of Istanbul Ready-to-Wear and

Apparel Exporters’ Association (İHKİB) and

İstanbul Chamber of Commerce (İTO), we are

conducting International Competitiveness of

Turkish Shirt Sector (URGE) and in this context

we make a very strong roadshow to reach

more visitors. We have reached 80 different

countries with the contributions of the members

of the association. With these efforts, we

aim to fold the successful results we achieved

earlier this year.”

The Victoria Secret wind will

With support from the Ministry of Economy,

Linexpo 2019 will host Victoria Secret model

as a campaign face. The third hall in the fair

will include design departments of universities

and foreign trade - cargo companies.

Mustafa Nazik, Chairman, said, “The sector’s

only problem is not direct exports, we are not

considered as exporters because we do through

cargo companies but our exports are very

high. In this case, the numerical data is not

reflected in the line we should be. However,

we have considerable numbers and rates in

textile exports. We export high quantities of

products to our customers all over the world.

In addition, the lack of qualified personnel

in the apparel industry also is another problem,

the staff is not trained in this area.” He

added further that they are planning to have

young people for profession in this field and

that they are planning various studies to encourage

them and to train them in ready-made

clothing.

Genç Tigsad members are ready

for the future

Genç TIGSAD, (Young TIGSAD) which consists

of young people between the ages of 18-32,

has been in existence for 3 years. Young Tigsad

members constituting the face of social media,

are growing in the center of the work. For

this reason, we are in heart of Yesildirek to be

closer to our members again and we are open

to everyone and we are going to run our work

in this new office. For new year, he wishes all

of our country a year of production with a peaceful,

healthy and stable economy.

The extraordinary grant of mise and the

ice agency

This edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo benefits

from the extraordinary grant of

the Ministry for Economic Development

(MiSE - Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico)

Baby Expo is a foothold for your

business

Baby Expo 2018, the

largest trade fair of

children’s goods in

Ukraine, will be held on

26 – 29 April in Kiev

Baby Expo has been successful

in bringing together manufacturers,

distributors, importers

and retailers of children’s goods for

the past 22 years. BABY EXPO is approved

by the Global Association of

the Exhibition Industry (UFI). The

approval requires regular audit and

confirms high organizational level of

this international event.

Almost 300 exhibitors from Ukraine,

Turkey, China, Poland, Italy, Belarus,

Russia, and Moldova will participate

in this year’s edition of BABY EXPO.

Over 500 trademarks of various children’s

goods (including both world

famous brands and young domestic

TM) will be exhibited.

Chinese exposition is the largest one

among foreign exhibitors. 17 manufacturing

companies will offer children’s

wear, footwear, accessories,

baby products, and a wide variety of

toys, i.e. construction sets, transformers,

radio controlled toys, etc.

Turkish exposition is the second largest

one among foreign exhibitors.

It merely includes manufacturers of

children’s clothes and textiles.

It should be noted that over 50% of

exhibitors are Ukrainian manufacturers.

From the first edition of BABY

EXPO, its organizers have been doing

their best to support domestic manufacturers.

Best Toy National Contest held since

2004, one-of-a-kind in Ukraine, can

be a good example. All toys and games

submitted shall be manufactured

in Ukraine. The contest-winning toys

and games will be exhibited at a special

demo stand at BABY EXPO. School

Wear competition has been held for

over ten years. School wear collections

2018 will be showcased on the

runway by little models and displayed

on fashion mannequins in show-room

area.

Over the past five years, the number of

Ukrainian exhibitors has doubled and

a lot of Ukrainian products favorably

competing with foreign counterparts

have been successfully brought to external

markets. The increase in their

quality and competitive capability is

confirmed by the results of both Best

Toy contest and School Wear competition.

BABY EXPO can be thematically divided

into three trade fairs:

Toy Fair Ukraine - toys and games.

Baby Products Fair - products for babies

and their mothers.

Children’s Fashion Fair - will offer a

wide range of wear and footwear for

various purposes and ages: outerwear,

to domestic production. Stating

that they increase by 70% in domestic

production collection, Saraç said, “At

the moment we have 12 model which

is manufactured in Turkey. These travel

systems include a wide range of

products, such as strollers, duplex

strollers, cane strollers, playgrounds,

feeding chairs, home-style main

straps. There are two new models in

import. Travel system and mother, as

well as equipment and tools, we continue

our work by enlarging our targets.

This year we will add a new and

very dynamic model to the European

giants. We plan to offer this model to

our consumers in 2019.”

“We achieve our targets one

by one”

Stating that they achieved the targets

of last year in exportation, Gökhan Saraç

said, “We aim to reach the highest

quality products to our dealers and to

the final consumers at the lowest prices

after the textile, perfumery and

cosmetics. This year our performance

is above our projected growth rate. In

the domestic market, we imported

aventedor model we liked in the

European market last year. We exported

that model to Iran. We were very

pleased with the sales chart in Iran. In

other words, we are good at not only

importing the product but also exportation.

We achieved our targets one

by one.”

DEFNE BABY, the story of socks from

generation to generation

Partnering with many global brands since 1994,

Gulecyuz Socks offers its production experience and

all knowledge with its brand, Defne Baby… Gaining a

good sales chart in short time with Defne Baby babies

& children socks and laundry products they offer to

the domestic and foreign market, General Manager

Mustafa Güleçyüz shared their success stories with us.

Using the experience and knowledge

of years, we are producing

socks for many world

famous trademarks and companies.

Gulecyuz Socks manufactures and

markets all its goods internally. The

company is represented by wellknown

distributors in this field in

Germany, France, Austria, Holland,

Belgium, Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden,

Norway, England where the products

are present in the most important

shopping centers in Europe.

Mustafa Güleçyüz stated that they

grew up in this business together

with his brothers and said that in

1994 they made production more

professional. Güleçyüz, which started

to make production to different brands

and talked about themselves in the

sector, now carries its knowledge and

experience to its own brands, Defne

Baby.

Güleçyüz Çorap, now employing

many people in Bayrampaşa factories

and even receiving outsourcing production

support, stated that their aim

was to work in the sector with the right

moves at the right time.

Mustafa Güleçyüz said that they plan

long-term investment in meeting all

the needs of babies from stroller to feeding

bottle, from pajamas to t-shirt.

Mustafa Güleçyüz said, “We managed

to take place at all sales points in Turkey

soon, as we gained a good sales

graph. Our team continues their work

in a controlled and systematic way. In

addition, Defne Baby began to make a

name for itself in the foreign market.

In this direction, we export to countries

such as Germany and Serbia and

we are planning to work to increase

the number of regions and countries

we export. We also export all of our

products from our factory to every

point of Europe with our exporter

company DevTeks.

process, Mustafa Güleçyüz, said, “Traditionally,

pink for girls, blue for boys

is more preferred. We use clearer, less

eye-catching patterns. Emphasizing

that they have at least 20 audits per

year, Güleçyüz emphasized the health

criteria they pay attention in production

by saying that “we eliminate the

substances that may be harmful to the

babies during the production phase

and we are more careful.””

to produce Defne Baby

products in its own factory

Mustafa Güleçyüz mentioned the

2019 targets as follows: “For Defne

Baby products, we have prepared

a production plant of 16 thousand

square meter in Hayrabolu, Tekirdag.

However, due to the economic

fluctuations in our country, we have

postponed the start of activity of our

factory for a short period of time. Our

biggest target in 2019 is to start production

in this factory and increase

our production portfolio by including

different product groups.”

expo – recapitulation

A great début culminates in

success!

The beginning of the summer in Kielce was

marked with fashion presentations. Exhibitors

and visitors from and abroad, new

merchandise galore presented by producers,

top brands for children which proudly

showcased their collection, interesting meetings

and compelling workshops - this is a

nutshell description of the première edition

of the B2B Clothes and Textiles Expo Fashion

For Kids.

This exhibition was held on 28 and 29 June

in Targi Kielce and brought together companies

from 7 countries, inducing: Belgium,

Denmark, Italy, Spain, Great Britain, France

and Turkey. The two-day event crafted

around children’s fashion was held in the

largest Targi Kielce’s Expo Hall - the E Expo

Pavilion.

A professional catwalk was made especially

for the new event. The catwalk was the stage

for the little models to presented collections

for upcoming seasons. Nearly half a

thousand industry visitors and business-insiders

from, inter alia Germany, Ukraine,

Russia, Slovakia, Romania, the Czech Republic,

Bulgaria, the Democratic Republic of

the Congo and Canada became familiar with

producers’ and distributors’ offer.

A global-scale fashion event

The creators and organisers of the wellknown

Kids’ Time expo enjoy a vast experience;

therefore the new event on the

Europe’s map of child products and services

business sector’s meetings was bound for

success.

- We are satisfied with the fact that we have

participated in the B2B Clothes and Textiles

Expo Fashion For Kids - says Ismail Hakki

first time this year and participated in another

event which focused on toys and products

for Kids.

at the exhibition. There were stands

from Denmark next to ours. I also saw stands

from Spain and Italy - comments Danijela

Pantic, a representative of France’s Mini-

Mignon.

Little fashion models on the

catwalk

The Fashion for Kids featured fashion

shows as its main attraction. Over sixty

children age 3 to 10 years walked down the

catwalk and professionally presented the

latest trends. The fashion show was staged

on both expo days.

The Fashion for Kids’ fashion shows were

hugely interesting. We had the chance to

admire talented little models, which is not

often a case at this type of exhibitions. The

shows were organized very professionally.

In my opinion the show was the strongest

point on the expo agenda - says Danijela

Pantic, from MiniMignon.

The brands boasted their latest collections

for the autumn / winter 2018 and for the

spring / summer 2019. The clothes and

garments presentation were complemented

with footwear and accessories of all

kinds: umbrellas, hair ornaments, jewellery,

handbags and backpacks.

Fashion for Kids for education

The children’s textile industry has been

vibrantly developing. Russia at the same

time has become a prospective target market.

The expo agenda featured a meeting

with Elena Pismenskaja . How to enter the

children’s clothing market in Russia, marketing

trends in the Eastern markets were

discussed in the course of the session. In

her presentation, Pismenskaja stressed the

fact that the Fashion For Kids expo offers a

great opportunity to gain get new business

leads and expand knowledge about foreign

markets. Purchase planning for the needs

of your company was discussed by Agnieszka

Socha, a specialist in small commercial

companies management and logistics.

Dagmara Habiera was also present at the

expo, for years Mrs. Habiera has been into

training and consulting projects for Visual

Merchandising. The Fashion for Kids offered

the chance to attend Mrs. Habiera’s lectures

and workshops.

- Sometimes it is worth giving up the idea

of showing the entire stock and focus on the

elements our client finds most important

came to Kielce to see the première edition

of the children’s clothes expo and

The second Fashion for

Kids clothes expo is held

on 26-27 June 2019 in Targi

Kielce. The event is targeted

at wholesalers, owners

of children’s clothing

shops, traders, showrooms

representatives, designers,

fashion-designers and

influencers who are into

children’s fashion.

Targi Kielce is an important place

on the Europe’s map of child

products and services business

sector’s events owing to the fact that

the Kids’ Time Expo has become a

household name. Now it is time for

Fashion For Kids Exhibition. The expo

organisers’ have been provided inspiration

entrepreneurs. The apparels

and garments industry has seen a

The French textiles market remains

a highly-developed,

mature market with many

domestic and international players.

In 2018, the French textile industry

(including apparel) was comprised

of approximately 548 companies

averaging 20 employees with a total

workforce of 58,240 employees.

Apparel accounts for 43.9% of the

market’s total value, while fabrics

represent about 30%. The industry in

France, although large, is dominated

by several small, niche companies selling

a small quantity of highly technical

and high value products.

In France, the main consumers of

technical textiles are industry (21%),

transportation (20%), medical (16%),

protection (10%), construction

(10%), and agro textiles (8%). The

main distributors of clothing are specialized

chains (23%), independent

sellers (13%), and super/hypermarkets

(14%). Similar to previous years,

the major textile suppliers by country,

are China, followed by Italy, Bangladesh,

Turkey, India, Germany, Tunisia,

Belgium, Portugal, and Pakistan.

The U.S. textile exports to France are

mainly composed of sportswear and

technical textiles. In addition, U.S.

suppliers have an advantage in terms

of technical know-how in this industry.

Best practices

To export textiles to France, U.S. companies

should either have an agent /

distributor or set up a subsidiary.

There are no quotas for importing

U.S. textile, however, U.S. companies

need to be able to provide the certificate

of orgin of goods to customs.

March this year.

identity in design and she said, “The

Caravanserais, hundred years old mosques, Inns,

Turkish baths, Iskender kebabs and of course chestnut

sweet bring the mind the beautiful city Bursa which

lately has a reputation as a baby textile production

center both in domestic and international markets.

Especially Producers which gathered in Vişne Caddesi

(Cherry Avenue) made this street as trade area. It

became a famous market that draws attention of foreign

companies due to Works of BEKSIAD, support of BTSO

and various Exhibitions. CANTOY lead this genetarion

when it opened its first magazine in Vişne Caddesi

(Cherry Avenue) in 2010 and we have visited CANTOY’S

new factory in Kestel. Here is our reportage with Mr.

The story has started in

Beside baby dressing sets, Dear Baby is quite ambitious

Founded in 2013, Cinar Tekstil produces

dressing for 0-10 age group

under its Dear Baby brand. The company

expands its product range for

0-3 years aged babies. Exporting to

Russia, Iran and the Arab countries,

Dear Baby aims to boost exports for

more countries.

Stating that they attach more importance

on baby kid dressing sets in

2019, Owner of Çınar Tekstil, Saniye

Demir, said, “We design our products

by following the fashion agenda. We

take care of design and also production

process. 2019 will be our year.”

“Children’s ideas are

important to us”

Drawing attention to the point where

they are sensitive in production,

Demir said, “As a mother, I always

care production quality, taking into

consideration its quality for my own

daughter. In fact, I mostly ask the

first models out of the design before

Turkey’s 2023 export goal for textiles is

USD 20 billion

Turkey also remains

among one of the

world’s most important

textile and apparel

manufacturing countries

and 6th largest supplier

in the world and the

3rd largest supplier to

the EU. Turkey’s textile

sector, aims to meet

3,67’s% of the total

exports by 2023

Clothing and textiles is among the

largest and best-performing sectors

of the Turkish economy, accounting

for around 7% of the country’s

GDP. There are some 56,000 textile and

clothing companies operating in the

country and they employ around two

million people. Turkey ranked 8th and

4th in global cotton production and

consumption, respectively. The country

ranked third in organic cotton production

after India and Syria.

The clothing and textile industry is largely

based on cotton. Domestic output

does not fully meet demand, which

makes Turkey the world’s third-largest

cotton importer after China and Bangladesh.

Clothing and textiles accounted

for nearly 20% of Turkey’s total exports

by volume.

Turkish clothing and textile exports

have been increasing over the past few

years but their share in the country’s total

exports has been shrinking. The clothing

industry exported some 65% of its

production and generated USD 15bn in

foreign sales. Cotton clothing accounted

for as much as 80% of exports. The

Turkish clothing industry was the 3rd

largest exporter to the European Union

and the 6th largest globally.

To support the industry’s climb up the

quality ladder, the Turkish government

has launched “Turquality”, a program

designed to provide assistance in marketing,

quality upgrade and strategic

positioning.

Turkey’s export goal

Turkey’s 2023 export goal for textiles is

USD 20 billion, securing a 3.6% share

of the global textile market. The sector

aims to cover 3.67% of Turkey’s total

exports by 2023, with the following targets:

Fiber and yarn totaling USD 2.5 billion,

woven fabric totaling USD 5 billion,

knitted fabrics totaling USD 3.5 billion,

technical textiles and non-woven surface

fabrics totaling USD 4 billion, textiles

for the home totaling USD 4 billion, other

textiles totaling USD 1 billion.

In order to reach these goals of the strategy;

some crucial actions, being implemented

by Turkey are:

Carrying out projects on R&D and development

of international competitiveness

in order to increase sectoral

exports capacity. Increasing the number

of national participations to international

fairs, general and sectoral trade delegations

and buying missions in target

markets. Implementing sectoral and

country based diversification strategy in

export composition. Focusing trade activities

on target markets. Enhancing the

export capacity of SME’s, Increasing the

number of global Turkish brands in the

world. Making Istanbul an international

fashion, fair and trade center. Providing

crucial inputs for exports. Creating sectoral

clusters for gaining competitiveness

New record pleasure in export family:

The highest November export of all

times with 15.5 billion dollars

* Export in November has been 15.5 billion dollars by increasing

9.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. By

reaching highest export in November of all times, it is reached the

third highest monthly export figures.

* Turkey Exporters’ Assembly (TIM) Chairman Ismail Gülle said, “We

realized the highest monthly export in history in October. This time

we are happy that we reached the highest November export of all

the times. We are moving with our intensive efforts of our exporters

to ensure end of year goal of 170 billions of dollar. While we carry the

exports to new records, Mr. President has given us the good news that

we will enter into a strong investment phase in 2019 by launching

a new investment and employment campaign. We will also support

the mobilization of employment as exporters and focus more on

production and export.”

According to November export

data, exports rose by 9.5 percent

to $ 15.5 billion with

respect to same period of last year.

Thus, by exceeding the exports value

of 14.2 billion dollars in November

2013, it is reached highest exports in

November in the history. In the last

12 months, exports increased by 7.8

percent to 168.1 billion dollars. In the

first 11 months, exports increased by

7.7 percent to 154.2 billion dollars. In

November, after October and March

2018, the highest monthly exports of

all time were realized.

Evaluating the export figures, Turkey

Exporters Assembly (TIM) Chairman

İsmail Gülle said, “2018 is a year of record-breaking.

In October, we had the

highest monthly exports in history.

This time we have the happiness of

signing the highest November export

of all-time. We are moving forward

with confident steps to our end-year

target of 170 million dollars with the

intense efforts of our exporters.

Gülle: “Human resource is

one of the most important

issues for exporters.”

Gülle, who evaluated the recent economic

developments, said: “As we

move exports to new records, Mr.

President has launched a new investment

and employment mobilization

and gave the good news that we will

be able to enter 2019 strongly. We

were looking forward to such a campaign.

We, as exporters, will support

mobilization of employment and we

will focus more on production and

export. Human resources is one of the

most important issues for exporters.

Reducing the tax burden on employment

and raising qualified human

resources are among the issues that

we give most importance. In addition

to the mobilization of employment, it

may be beneficial to employ SSI employer

premium reduction to encourage

more staff to be employed.”

Gülle: “The effect of exports

on third quarter growth

figures will be positive”

TİM Chairman Gülle continued his

words as follows: “Our government’s

current approach shows that export

remains at the heart of our economy

agenda. As TIM, our target is building

Turkey which gives trade surplus and

grows with export. We will see the positive

effect of exports in third quarter

growth rates as in second quarter of

2018.”

The current world population is

7.1 billion; this number is expected

to grow to 9.2 billion by 2050. The

bulk of this growth will take place

in underdeveloped and developing

countries.

Population and economic growth

will stimulate rapid increases in

textile production and consumption,

which, in turn, will drive significant

increases in the textile industry’s

absolute energy use, water

use, and carbon dioxide (CO2) and

other environmentally harmful

emissions.

China is the world’s top textile

exporter with 40% of world textile

and clothing exports. The textile

and clothing industry is the

largest manufacturing industry in

China with about 24,000 enterprises.

China is the largest clothing

producer in the world and has the

largest production capacity for textile

products consisting of cotton,

manmade fibers and silk.

China exported $274 billion in textiles,

a volume that was nearly seven

times that of India, the second

largest exporter with $40 billion in

exports. This accounted for 43.1%

of global clothing exports.

destroyed many mills and their

supply chains. They did not fully

recover until the 1950s, at which

point many of the major tycoons

had moved their empires to Hong

China’s advantages

China’s big advantage in the textile

industry is price. Their exports are

usually cheaper than many other

countries like Brazil or Thailand.

The reason that China can do this

so easily is due to the small amount

of pay they offer their employees.

Compared to other countries,

they are among the lowest in pay.

Although this doesn’t benefit Chinese

The Chinese Government’s recent

decision to officially end

its decades-old One Child Policy.

Now Chinese couples are allowed

to have two children and the birth

rate in China is expected to rise dramatically.

There are around 223 million

children under the age of 14 in

China, it would be an additional one

to two million newborns every year. A

boom in the baby products and toddler

toy markets is foreseeable!

Since 2010, Guangzhou International

Stroller and Baby Product Fair is held

with Guangzhou International Toy

and Education Fair concurrently. It is

the biggest baby product and toy fair

in South China. In year 2019, it will be

the 10th edition of Stroller and Baby

Product Fair and 31st edition of Toy

and Education Fair. It is a mature and

one of the most important Baby Product

and Toy Fair in China. In 2018,

the two events recorded 56,549 trade

visitors, and 1,105 exhibitors from 10

countries and regions, which is a new

record.

1,105 exhibitors (2017: 1,068) from

10 countries and regions including

Australia, China, Denmark, Hong

Kong, India, Korea, New Zealand,

Switzerland, Sweden and Taiwan

showcased their products throughout

seven halls during the three-day

shows. The events were highly sought

after by industry players, with the

visitor number also increasing 5% to

56,549 (2017: 53,856). The two concurrent

events were held from 8 – 10

April at the Poly World Trade Center

Expo in Guangzhou, China. Given the

show’s significant development this

year, Ms Wendy Wen, Senior General

Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd

expressed her confidence that the

events will continue to be an influential

driving force for the China toy

market. “Although there are challenges

for the global toy industry in general,

we can tell that the China market

is still a promising one with unprecedented

demand from customers. For

the past three decades, we’ve served

as an effective business platform for

exhibitors and buyers. Exhibitors succeeded

Denizli, is expected to gain further

momentum to the sector.
