The Turkish Hospital Pediatric Department,
brand-new facility that was made
specifically with children in mind. Designed
with ideas from all angles, our hospital caters
to our patients’ needs and desires at every
point. Within our walls we have created
a very special place, one dedicated entirely to
health, wellness and healing as well giving full
support to both the children and the parents.
One of the cornerstones of our pediatric
program is an emphasis on preventative
health and wellness. Our team is focused
on providing you and your child with
the education, support and services you need
most to overcome any insecurity experienced
by a child during treatment and follow-up.
Turkish Hospital, provides high quality
comprehensive clinical care and services to infants,
children and adolescents, and is sensitive to
the changing needs of our community and society.
The Hospital, which provides unique healthcare
services 24 hours a day, is made up of the following:

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
This is a comprehensive unit under the
charge of well-trained up-to-date accredited doctors
who are experts in neonatal intensive care
management. It is equipped with the most up-todate
equipment and facilities needed for the care of
sick and high-risk newborns. It includes the intensive
care needed for babies diagnosed as preterm
and complications like pneumonia, meconium
aspiration, sepsis, convulsion, birth asphyxia etc.

Nursery (Well baby)
Our Nursery is baby friendly and provides
the best services for healthy babies, including
newborn care, nutrition, eye and umbilical
care, and follows the Hospital’s infection control
policy. Breastfeeding is recommended and
encouraged at our Hospital, we provide mothers
the support they need and the expertise of a
well-equipped modern and baby friendly clinic.
We provide a soothing and comfortable environment
both to mothers and neonates. Newborn
vaccinations, assessment of prenatal growth and
development, and screened for any vision or
hearing problems in addition to the provision of
age-appropriate preventive guidance regarding
nutrition, lifestyle and health maintenance issues.
Metabolic screening is done to all our neonates.

Our well-equipped modern and child friendly
clinic renders comfortable environment for
treatment and follow-up of variety of acute and
chronic illnesses of infancy, childhood and adolescence.
Children are given vaccinations, assessed
for their growth and development, and
screened for any vision or hearing problems in
addition to the provision of age-appropriate preventive

health maintenance issues. The clinic is equipped
with full range of diagnostic and testing services.

Inpatient Ward
Our friendly ward has beds for admitted
hospital patients who are supervised by the consultants
in-charge. Our doctors and specialists, as
well as all our entire medical team, have some of
the most advanced tools, technologies and therapies
at their disposal, all designed to give your
child the very best outcome possible. We provide
care and manage a wide variety of medical problems
including, and not limited to, acute gastroenteritis,
croup, bronchiolitis, pneumonia septicemia,
bronchial asthma, seizure disorder, etc.
Pediatric Emergency
This ER is covered 24 hours, 7 days a
week by accredited specialists who have experience
in the management of emergencies. It is well
equipped for both serious injuries and minor illnesses
in order to cope with the needs of pediatric
patients. Furthermore, the pediatric emergency
is staffed with specialized pediatric medical team
throughout.

Kilitbahir Kalesi, Canakkale
Kilitbahir Castle is a fortress on the west
side of the Dardanelles, opposite the city of Çanakkale,
where there is a corresponding fortress
(Kale-i Sultaniye), from which Çanakkale takes
its name. The two castles were constructed by Fatih
Sultan Mehmet in 1463 to control the straits at
their narrowest point. Kilitbahir’s name, meaning
“lock of the sea”, reflects this defensive purpose.

ققسم أمراض القلب يف املستشفى الرتيك هو مركز يوفر أعىل
مستوى من الجودة لرعاية القلب واألوعية الدموية مع أعىل
مستويات من املعدات الطبية املعارصه.‏ ويضم القسم اثنني
من أطباء القلب وعدد كاف من املوظفني يف الوقت الحايل
CARDIOLOGY
The department of cardiology at
Turkish Hospital is a center providing the
highest quality cardiovascular care with its
up-to-date medical equipment. The department
includes two cardiologists and sufficient
number of staff numbers at the moment.
Inpatient services include a four-bed intensive
care unit (ICU) and inpatient care unit. Services
include cardiac catheterization, primary angioplasty,
echocardiography, stress testing, blood
pressure monitoring, 24-hr rhythm Holter monitoring.

The department offers outpatient consultation
and evaluation for new patients in the
ground floor with two outpatient rooms. Outpatient
services include general cardiology clinics
dedicated to diagnose and treat most of the cardiac
diseases such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia,
aortic diseases, heart failure, coronary artery disease,
valvular heart disease, pericardial disease,
rhythm abnormalities and cardiomyopathies.

In addition to outpatient services, the department
can provide solutions for acute diseases
such as heart attack, acute heart failure, pulmonary
edema, acutely developed rhythm disturbances
24 hours a day in case of emergency admissions.

What is a gastric balloon?
The gastric balloon is a soft, silicone sack that is
placed into the stomach and filled with air and
sterile water.
The gastric balloon can:
• Help you control and limit how much food you
eat
• Reduce the frequency of how often you eat
The overall quantity of food will be less and you
will stay satisfied for longer. This is helpful for
those with a tendency to snack between meals.
How much weight will I lose?
You can experience up to 20-25 kilos of weight
loss, though some people lose less. Your success
depends on whether you make the necessary dietary
adjustments or how well you apply them.
How long can the balloon remain in my stomach?
Typically, the balloon can remain in your stomach
for up to 6-12 months.

Bosphorus is a narrow, natural strait and an internationally significant waterway located in
northwestern Turkey. It forms part of the continental boundary between Europe and Asia, and separates
Asian Turkey from European Turkey. The world’s narrowest strait used for international navigation,

PEDIATRIC UROLOGY
Pediatric urology deals with diagnosis
and treatment of congenital or acquired urinary

Examples to these conditions include hydroceles
and cord cyst, undescended testicles, circumcision,
emergency conditions of the testicles and
scrotum (acute scrotum and testicular torsion).
Surgical correction of hypospadias (a congenital
condition in which the opening of the urethra is
not located at the tip of the penis, and is located
on the underside of penis) is one of the areas

Uzungöl is a lake situated to the south of the city of Trabzon, in the Çaykara district of Trabzon
Province, Turkey. Uzungöl is also the name of the village on the lake’s coast. Over the years, the picturesque
lake, its village and the surrounding valley have become popular tourist attractions. The
lake is at a distance of 99 km from Trabzon’s city center, and 19 km from Çaykara’s district center.It

HAIR TRANSPLANTATION
Hair transplantation is an operation of
extracting graft (3-4 hairs in one extracting) from
the donor area ( hairs between two ears) where
hair loss does not occur genetically, and placing
them to the recipient area (Where baldness has
on the head) . Grafts which were placed to recipinent
area protect their genes as in the Donor
area. By using the same methods, hair transplantations
can be made on eyebrow, eyelash, beard,
and mustache and scar. The operation can take 6
-7 hours depending on the area where hair transplantation
will be carried out.
All the operations are performed under
local anesthesia, and you can go home soon after
the operation such made. This is not any method
or operation causing any pain. Any cutting or suturing
is not applied in the FUE (Follicular Unit
Extraction) there will be not any scar or stitch on
your head.

BRONCHOSCOPY
A bronchoscopy is the process of viewing
the lungs from the inside. The tool that is used for
this process is the bronchoscope. The procedure
is performed under local anesthesia. The bronchoscopy
method is applied to patients with the
following complaints:
1-The existence of abnormal finding in a lung radiography
or computerized tomography
2-A cough that does not go away for a long time
3-Blood coming to mouth
4-Unexplained loss of voice that lasts over 2
weeks.

The travertine is a slip formed by a multifaceted
chemical reaction and subsequent precipitation
of various causes and environments. The
geological events that led to the thermal source
of Pamukkale affected a large area. In this region,
there are 17 hot water areas with temperatures
ranging from 35-100 degrees Celsius. Pamukkale
source has been used since antiquity.
The thermal water comes from the source
with a channel of 320 m length per travertine,
and from there it is poured into the travertine
floors where 60-70 m of partial sedimentation
takes place, and it travels 240-300 m on average.
During contact with oxygen in the air, the
water containing high amounts of Calcium Hydrocarbonate
in the 35.6 C warming temperature
causes carbon dioxide and Carbon monoxide to
fly causing calcium carbonate to precipitate and
form travertine. The precipitate is in the gel state
in the first step. Calcium carbonate which is precipitating
in the layer pods and creases is initially
a soft gel.

Divriği Great Mosque and Hospital
(Turkish: Divriği Ulu Cami ve Darüşşifası) is an
ornately decorated mosque and hospital complex
built in 1228–1229 by the local dynasty of
the Mengujekids in the small Anatolian town of
Divriği, now in Sivas Province, Turkey. The complex
is located in the upper town, below the citadel.
The exquisite carvings and architecture of
both buildings place them among the most important
works of architecture in Anatolia and led
to their inclusion on UNESCO’s World Heritage
List in 1985.

is an 5 bedded unit and provides 24 hours service
The unit is staffed with nurse to patient
ratio of 1:1-2. Many other disciplines are involved

limited to medical staff, respiratory therapy, pharmacy
Radiology, and social worker, patient educator
for mothers, Infection Control and physical
therapy.

The NICU provides a Family-centered
approach to care; encompassing the parents and
sick infant as a single unit. Thus including the

The NICU services provide the best technological
evidenced – based treatment and care.
Examples are: ventilator support inclusive of
high frequency oscillatory and sensor medics
ventilation,Continuous Positive Airway Pressure
(CPAP), the unit also provides continuous hemodynamic
monitoring, pulse oximetry, continuous
cardiac monitoring, blood exchange transfusion,
administration of medications and Total Parenteral
Nutrition, high intensity phototherapy, and
Metabolic screening.

Emergency Service Department of
TURKISH HOSPITAL is in service 7/24 with
experienced, educated and expert staff. Emergency
medicine physician makes the triage of
the patients according to their emergency status
and guide them to the related specialist.
Emergency service is supported by all
branches present at the hospital in day-time,
is also supported at night by the anesthesia,
cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, obstetrics
and gynecology, pediatrics and radiology specialists
in charge at their own departments. In
emergency service department which serves
in multidisciplinary approach other specialist
physicians reaches in case of necessity.
At emergency service and observation
rooms which are equipped with modern medical
devices, first line treatment and observation
of patients are performed. Additionally,
first line interventions and evaluations may be
performed at intervention rooms and other
