GLASILO OSNOVNE ŠOLE ZBORA ODPOSLANCEV KOČEVJE
MY TOWN
My town is called Kočevje. Kočevje is in the south-east of Slovenia. Kočevje is lovely
because people are friendly. They can go outside and go for a walk or talk to their
friends. It's beautiful because of its nature and a river. The river is called Rinža and it
runs through Kočevje. There are statues of a sculptor Stane Jarm. There is a big
church in the centre of the town, which is very beautiful inside. Some buildings are old
but nice. The most important historical building is a museum called Šeškov dom. There
is also a restaurant Tri Zvezde, where you can try local food. Every year we have a
carnival and we put on different and colourful carnival masks. There we eat doughnuts
and have a lot of fun. We also have Rdeča dvorana (A Red hall), where people can
train handball, basketball and some other sports. There are tennis courts, football
fields and a basketball court. In Kočevje there is also a bowling alley. Everyone has
their favourite place in their town, but mine is the lake, because you can go swimming
when it's hot outside and you want to cool down. In the town nothing bothers me. I'm
relaxed in my town. I don't want to move, I want to live in Kočevje forever.

MY HOME TOWN
My home town is called Kočevje. It's located in the south east of Slovenia. It's not very
big but it has quite a big population for its size. There are 10,000 people in our town,
including me, of course. Kočevje is very clean, beautiful and lively. There is a river
called the Rinža. It flows through the town. Among the main sights there is a tall
church, a museum, some statues and a beautiful park where my school is located and
where I'm writing this paper. Near my school there is a big shopping centre and there
is another one next to the kindergarten. There are a lot of ways to entertain yourself
because there is a cinema where you can see great movies, a playground where you
can play with friends and there is a place where many interesting concerts take place
so that's why you would never be bored in my town. There are many good restaurants
in Kočevje and they serve amazing food but unfortunately there aren't any local food
restaurants. In my town there isn't really a sports centre but we have many successful
sports teams including the soccer team, table tennis team, volleyball team, that I also
play for and many more. Some famous people lived in Kočevje, too. One of them was
a well known Slovenian sculptor Stane Jarm. He made most of the sculptures you can
see in my town. One of my favourite places is the main square where several events
happen, although I like it because you can buy some delicious ice cream there. But
there are also some things that I miss in my town, such as McDonald's. Still, I wouldn't
live anywhere else and I'm proud to say that I'm a citizen of this town and I'm also
proud of how the town takes care of the people. I wouldn't change anything.
