SUBTROPICAL WONDERLAND
During this tour you will visit:
Walk in Batumi's old city center with its
small streets, beautiful squares and
Seaside Park; the old part of the city is
especially interesting. Most of the houses
were built in XIX century. Here, the spirit of
the past century reigns. Rows of small
shops of handicraft copperware and the
magnificent aroma of freshly brewed coffee
wafts from small cafes.
Then visit the Botanical garden, one the
biggest and richest botanical gardens in
t h e w o r l d . L o c a t e d n e a r M t s v a n e
Kontskhi (Green Cape) resort, it was the
brainchild of the prominent Russian
botanist and physical geographer, Andrey
Krasnov. The plants species displayed come
from many different climatic and landscape

fortress of Petra (VI century); then drive up

Discovered in Imereti region in 1984,
Prometheus Cave is one of Georgia's
natural wonders provides visitors with
breathtaking examples of stalactites,
stalagmites, curtains, petrified waterfalls,
cave pearls, underground rivers, and lakes.

The 1060 meter walking route through the
cave was upgraded in the summer of 2012.

Then, follow the walking path for 1400
meters through 16 halls.
Visit to Tskaltubo famous for its mineral
springs of warm radon waters (temperature
35 -37 degrees). This resort was very
popular in the Soviet Union for its healing
properties. First developed in the 1940's,
you can enjoy it's waters and scenery today.
Okatse Canyon is truly one of the most
magnificent and amazing places in
Georgia. With breathtaking views it is
practically untouched by humans, leaving
you feeling pleasantly cut off as you inhale
its lavish beauty.
Boasting the highest waterfall in Georgia,
Kinchkha near Okatse canyon is another
natural monument in western Georgia.

river that flow from a cave. 30 million years

these giant creatures roamed the earth.

Martvili Canyon - Take a boat voyage
through the canyon, a place of a truly

its archeological finds as well as its beauty.
In the area near the canyon scientist have
found petrified bones of animals and paw
prints of dinosaur that lived millions of
years ago. It is possible to walk on a canyon
by the boat and go on the top to reach 7
meter tall falls.

Georgian monastery named for St Maria
was built in the 7th century. One of the most
important spiritual centers of Georgia and a

centuries. As an option on the way back to

INTO THE SOUL OF THE FOREST
During this tour you will visit:
Mtirala National Park 15,698 hectares situated in the western Lesser Caucasus.
Located between the Black Sea and Adjara Mountain Range Mt. Mtirala is one of the most
humid areas in Georgia with average precipitation of 1,200 - 2,000 mm (sometimes
exceeding 4 000 mm). Rich with chestnut and beech woods, Mtirala was established to
preserve the outstanding Colchic type forest, characterized by sub-forests: cherry laurel
shrubs, Colchic box trees and a variety of lianas (vines). Mtirala is the home of Roe deer,
Wild boar and Brown bear. Booted eagles, Eagle owls and Golden orioles are avifauna that
can be found in the park. Mtirala's amphibian world is very diverse. Caucasian
salamanders, Caucasian toads, Eurasian mash frogs and Caucasian vipers inhabit the park.
During the tour you will admire the beautiful gorge of the Chakvistskali River, a waterfall
covered in ivy and an amazing lake.

THE EASTERN SPIRIT OF TRABZON
Trabzon - formerly known as Trebizond, a city
on the Black Sea coast in the north-east of
Turkey, located on the Silk Road, the
appearance of the city still is famous for a
charming mix of many religions, languages
and cultures. Throughout all historical periods
Trabzon was very important for foreign trade.

Cathedral Museum of Hagia Sophia - is a
lovely picturesque church, first a mosque and

Monastery Sumela - carved from stone in the
mountains south of Trabzon. It was built in the

During the trip, we can offer you routes of different difficulties according your choice. We
recommend Akhalsheni off-road tour in Aleshi mountains. 25 km from Batumi and at
an altitude of 1097 m, breathtaking views and the complicated route will make your trip
unforgettable.
Goderdzi Pass - the highest point is at an altitude of 2025 m. You will have a chance to
admire all the beauty of the region from a cable car.
Green Lake - This legendary beauty is located opposite the Goderdzi pass and is
surrounded by majestic mountains. Conifers and beech trees border the lake from all
sides. The clean cool water of the lake comes from underground springs.The water
becomes saturated with minerals from groundwater sources. Another extreme route
Machakhela or Chakvistavi. The Mtirala Mountain is located between the Black Sea and
the Adjarian mountain range in the watershed of the Chakvistskali and Koraghitskali
rivers. With a height of 1381m it has the highest rainfall (4520 mm) making it the wettest
site in Georgia. This also explains the name Mtirala which means “The weeping one.

Machakhela is an historical geographical
area and long valley along the river
Machakhlistskali. Machakhela Gorge, the
most stunning place of the region, is
located 30 km from Batumi. The gorge is
characterized by a unique variety of relict
and endemic plants. Among the woody
plants are 13 species listed in the Red Book
of Georgia.
You will visit:
Machakhela Gun Monument - The gorge
is also the birthplace of Ajarian gun making.
The famous “Machak hela gun” was
produced by local craftsmen in the XVIII
centur y. Later, The gun was known
throughout the entire Caucasus. Mirveti is
small, quite village built on the banks of
river Chorokhi. The route firstly goes toward
the Mirveti arched bridge and then Zemo
Chkhutuneti Village. Here is the rich
Machakhela Ethnographical Museum . The
route then continues on a shady trail
darkened by Buxus trees and finishes at the
Mirvetistskali waterfall. In the village
Mirveti, there is a guesthouse, where you
can spend the night.
Embrasure and Piece of Ordnance of the
Second World War
Several legends about Queen Tamar are
associated with Machakhela Valley. In the
old times, there were a number of rich
smithies in the valley. Along with everyday
agricultural tools, they forged cold weapon
and firearms. At the junction of Chorokhi
and Machakhela rivers there is a monument
of the Machakhela gun.

Mtsehotosom, who was the son of Kartlos,
the founder and first king of the Georgian
nation. According to legend, all Georgians
descend from him. However, history and
folklore are quite different from each other.
Per historical fact, the first mention of the
town of Mtskheta occurred in the first half
of the 1st century BC. At that time in the
ancient Georgian territory the first state,
Iberia, was formed with the capital city of
Mtsk heta. As the largest and most
important city, Mtskheta was constantly
subjected to raids and passed between the
Romans, Persians, Greeks, and other
nations. Only in the 5th century BC, based
on the decision of King Gorgasal, did Tbilisi
become the capital of Georgia. With such a
colorful past, Mtskheta attracts a huge
number of guests!

WINTER IN GEORGIA
Winter in Georgia is amazing, especially in
the mountains! There are a number of
exciting ski resorts. Three of the most
popular skiing destinations are Gudauri,
Bakuriani, and Mestia. Additionally, near
Mestia are two up-and-coming ski resorts,
Khatsvali and Tetnuldi. A fourth popular
skiing destination, Goderdzi in Adjara,
joined our list in 2015.
Gudauri - the closest mountain resort to
Tbilisi is only 120 km away (2 hour drive).
Gudauri is situated 2200 m above sea level.
The upper station of the cable car road is
marked at an elevation of 3007 m. There are
several developed trails, ranging from
simple to the so-called “red” run, and the
longest slope is 7 km long. In addition, the
ski resort provides heli-skiing services and a
huge space for free riders. Experienced
skiers and snowboarders love Gudauri for
its special soft snow.
Gudauri also offers everything you might
want on holiday beyond skiing, such as
bowling, indoor swimming pool, baths,
massage, and numerous restaurants with
the most delicious Georgian cuisine and
famous Georgian wines.
Bakuriani - the best choice for families on
holiday, located 298 km away from Batumi
and only 30 km away from popular Borjomi.
Previously, Bakuriani was one of the main
USSR camps for winter sports - slalom,
bobsleigh, biathlon, and springboard dives.
Additionally, Bakuriani was a candidate to
host the Winter Olympic Games in 2014.
This spot is perfectly suited for a family
holiday as there are many trails for children
and beginners, and it is near many
picturesque places for excursions and
promenades. Bakuriani's nature is an
attraction on its own, being surrounded by
woods and filled with fresh mountain air.
Bakuriani has something for professional
skiers and snowboarders too - trails here are
the steepest in all of Georgia, with slopes of
up to 50 degrees.

Mestia - Khatsvali and Tetnuldi. These are
new mountain resorts in the heart of
famous Svaneti, home of mountain
dwellers, ancient towers, and severe snowcapped
peaks. There are no mountain
tracks within the city itself, however there
are ski chalets located at Khatsvali only 8 km
away and Tetnuldi 15 km away. Mestia is
rather far from Tbilisi, over 450 km, but the
beauty of this wonderful place will make up
for the length of the journey.
Khatsvali is a young developing ski resort at
an elevation of 1865 m, with three medium
runs: for professionals, for experienced
skiers, and for beginners. Tetnuldi's nature
is vivid and distinguished among other
Georgian ski resorts; its trails are notably
complicated. Tetnuldi is named after a
mountain of the same name that is 4869 m
high with a 3165 m long cable road. This
provides a great space for skiing, and the
longest track stretches for 9.5 km.
The mountain resorts of Mestia unite both a
g r e a t s k i i n g e x p e r i e n c e a n d t h e
breathtaking beauty of Svaneti mountains.
Goderdzi - a ski resort located in a unique
climate zone in Ajara on the Goderdzi Pass,
just 100 km from the Black Sea coast and
2000 m above sea level. Goderdzi ski resort
opened in 2015 and is three times larger
than Georgia's other mountain resorts of
Gudauri and Bakuriani.
