A gift with a cause. This new Ardmore Armoured Warriors limited-edition silk

scarf collection supports Care for Wild. Inspired by the plight of the rhino - statistics

indicate that one rhino is killed every day! - the magnificent new silk scarf design

was conceived in tribute to this endangered species, and a percentage of each scarf

sale will go to Care for Wild rhino sanctuary, the largest orphaned rhino sanctuary in

the world, which specialises in the rescue, rehabilitation, rewilding, and protection

of orphaned and injured rhinos. Armoured Warriors features two mirrored rhinos

with ornately patterned horns. Surrounded by graphic floral and circular motifs, the

design honours the artistry and intricacy of traditional Zulu beadwork and basketry.

A dynamic celebration of pattern and colour, it embodies the vibrancy of Africa with

a palette inspired by the veld – golden grass, ochre earth, orange sunset and blue

sky – and grounded by graphic pattern. With only 100 made in each colourway, these

scarves are collectible artworks in themselves. Also available as pocket squares and

Spreading joy beyond the

festive season

Megan Yorke shares the magic of balancing family

traditions with her mission-driven work and how

she weaves together the joy of the season with her

commitment to making a difference - both at home and

in the world.

Behind every successful non-profit organisation is a story of passion, perseverance,

and purpose. For Megan Yorke, the MD of Living Waters of Hope, the

journey has been nothing short of transformative. What began as a small idea

rooted in a desire to make a difference has grown into a thriving initiative that

is changing lives in the community.

Personal and family life

Megan, from the hilly suburb of Kensington in Johannesburg, is a wife, a

mother to three beautiful daughters and the MD of Living Waters of Hope, a

registered non-profit organisation. The NPO’s main objective is to ensure that

the vulnerable and underprivileged within the community are taken care of

through the provision of food, clothing, stationery, toiletries and various community

development projects.

Megan married into the south of Johannesburg, to her husband, Greg in 1987,

at the age of 21.

‘It was seriously one of those ‘love at first sight’ moments,” she says. Megan and

her husband waited seven years before starting a family. They lived in Kensington

for a number of years and although they moved to Cape Town for about

three years, the city of gold called them back.

‘We are a small family and spend a lot of very close times together. We might

not have big gatherings for Christmas but time together is the most important

thing to us. We love family time,’ says Megan.

On their journey as a family they have learnt many things and although they

fight, which comes as no secret shares Megan, making up has always been the

best part. ‘I was a strict mum and for my girls, school came first. There were no

unnecessary days off and I think being a strict mum has paid off.’ She highlights

that her daughters live well-balanced lives and have successful careers. Her one

daughter is a school teacher and the youngest is in business acquisition.

Megan and her husband have been together in the sewing industry business

for over 30 years. However, Megan is more passionate about doing good. ‘My

biggest thing in life is making a difference, even if it’s a small difference. So

if many people make small differences, a big difference is accomplished,’

shares Megan.

A transformative journey

The Yorke family has also travelled a very difficult journey. ‘In 2022, we lost our

eldest daughter and with that I needed to heal so I gave all my extra attention

to doing more good than anything else,’ she adds.

She started a sewing programme at Ridge Park Sports Club, a nameless programme

that empowered unemployed women by teaching them how to sew.

The programme grew largely after the death of her daughter and got the name

‘Usisi Omkhulu programme’ which is the big sister project under the Living

Waters of Hope umbrella. ‘With my

daughter in my heart, everything

I’ve done has just grown and it has

inspired many others to cope in their

tough situations,’ highlights Megan.

She adds: ‘We have beautiful do good

stories. One story I can share is my assistant’s

story. She was in our feeding

scheme and she joined the sewing

programme. Today, she is my assistant

and has learnt to be a very competent

teacher.’

Megan was then approached by the

owner of Ridge Park Sports Club to

run the non-profit organisation, Living

Waters of Hope. With much bravery,

Megan took on the whole NPO,

which includes a feeding scheme,

5-aside football, a literacy programme,

and the sewing programme. They are

ear-marking a GBV house.

‘I spend very little time in our private

sewing business but my husband

swims quite perfectly on his

own while I focus on making a

difference in the community,’

emphasizes Megan.

‘I’m very privileged. I make differences

all the time and it is tiny little differences,

like identifying people in the

feeding scheme and giving them

something extra to eat or giving a

new mom some nappies and

formula. It’s all about doing good,’

she expresses.

Reflecting on her journey of transforming

lives, Megan highlights how

many people in the field of doing

good have either suffered a huge loss

or experienced a big tragedy that has

propelled them to help others. ‘There

is always a before and after and even

on your journey of life, you will find

those defining moments which guide

you to your destiny,’ said Megan.

‘Tragedy has a before and an after so

your life is divided by what happens

before and how you deal or feel after

a tragedy happens. You either sit in a

12 Get It Joburg South • Alberton • Bedfordview • Greenstone • Modderfontein December 2024/January 2025

heap, decide to eat worms and cry every day because that’s what you feel like

doing or you get up and shake yourself off.’

After losing her eldest daughter to suicide, Megan has honoured her memory

by doing good and is on a journey of making a difference. ‘This is the driving

force behind my energy and every day or every little difference I make is in honour

of her and a big motivation for me.’

Giving back and Christmas traditions

‘Christmas is not all about receiving, it’s about giving,’ says Megan. She shines a

light on how it’s not about the size of the gift; it’s about what is given from

your heart.

Her message this holiday season is to shift the focus from buying a gift and

instead consider hugging that person. ‘You never know if that hug would make

a huge difference to them. Be in the spirit of the time - it’s not about how many

presents or how big your Christmas

lunch is, it’s more about being together

and always remembering the

quiet person. Phone home, give your

mom a call or remember the aunt

who has got nothing. Don’t forget the

people who have been there for you,’

shares Megan.

The Yorke’s are a braai family. They

do not do the traditional sit-down

for Christmas.

‘It’s the most fun when we get together

with all the ‘left-over’ people.

So if a family went away and

someone stayed home to dog-sit or

the person is house-sitting, we get

together and the family Christmas

braai that was supposed to be five

people becomes 10. In a nutshell,

our family tradition is collecting and

spending Christmas with everybody

who doesn’t have a place to go to

on Christmas,’ she adds. Additionally,

over the holiday period, Megan and

her family will exchange homemade

gifts or get together to enjoy delicious

food. They keep the holiday

spirit alive by hanging up Christmas

decorations and bringing out the

Christmas tree. ‘Christmas to us is not

so much about the festivity of it but

it’s about remembering our beloved

daughter and focusing on those who

are here with us.’

Although the Christmas tree isn’t as

big as when her girls were young, the

meaning is still there. Megan expresses

her gratitude for her children and

her husband and a huge amount of

love she has for them.

Unwavering commitment

As she continues to commit to making

a difference and honouring her

daughter, Megan’s slogan remains,

‘when many do more, a difference

is made’.

Throughout her journey, Megan has

learnt that she cannot do it on her

own and that more people doing

good can make a huge impact.

‘Without the many helping hands, we

wouldn’t be where we are today as

Living Waters of Hope. We are a small

group trying to make a difference

but we are a hard-working bunch

of people.’

Megan’s inspiring journey serves as a

powerful reminder that with determination,

vision, and heart, doing

As owner of Spaar on Spares, Nadia Mahomed has redefined what it means to lead

with passion and purpose. She shares the highs and lows of her career in the auto parts

industry and how the holidays bring her back to what matters most - family, gratitude

and giving.

As the holiday season is upon us, many reflect on what truly

matters - family, tradition and the joy of giving. For Nadia

Mahomed, owner of Spaar on Spares in Johannesburg South,

the holidays carry a deeper meaning, one forged not only

by festive cheer but also by the resilience and determination

that have shaped her journey from the ground up.

From humble beginnings to becoming a trailblazer in a

male-dominated industry, Nadia’s journey is a testament

to resilience, hard work and the power of community. She

opens up about the challenges and triumphs of balancing

family, business and her commitment to giving back, especially

during the most wonderful time of the year.

Journey as a female entrepreneur

Originally from Durban, Nadia Mahomed grew up in the

south of Johannesburg. She attended Rosettenville Central

Primary School then went on to attend high school at The Hill

and Forest Hill High School. Nadia then attended Joubert

Park Technical College and after completing her tertiary education,

she got married and had two children then

got divorced.

Although Nadia remarried and divorced again, she compares

her life to that of Elizabeth Arden - a true pioneer in the way

she approached life and business. Nadia expresses: ‘And an

equally smart businesswoman who had the drive to make

her dreams come true. I have been happily single for nine

years now.’

When Nadia first came into the motor spares industry 35

years ago, she never imagined her passion for the industry

would grow so radically. Her ex-husband owned a motor

spares shop and from there her interest was triggered.

‘I felt challenged to buy the Spaar on Spares business as most

women and elderly people are taken advantage of when

buying car parts. When venturing into the industry, I faced

many challenges. My first challenge was stepping into the

business with zero stock,’ says Nadia. The bad economy posed

another challenge but the support of her family and her

drive for providing people with the best quality products and

services drove her to keep pushing forward toward success.

Spaar on Spares is an auto parts shop where a wide variety

of motor spare accessories are stocked and sold. It is also a

mechanical, alignment centre workshop.

Her journey in the motor spares industry has shaped her into

a tougher version of herself. ‘Dealing mostly with men has

given me some insight which has helped me understand and

perfect the business,’ she shares. ‘People who often meet me

say that I am still who I was many years ago.’

Throughout her journey, Nadia has learnt to put herself in

her customers’ shoes but to keep her heart out of it, which is

almost impossible according to her.

Giving back

Nadia highlights that she and her team do a lot for the

community. For the past four months, Nadia and her team

have been running a soup kitchen every Thursday. Additionally,

they hand out food parcels to families in need. They’ve

extended their passion for giving back to areas as far

as Alexandra.

They also provide the children in the community with

stationery, school uniforms and sanitary pads. ‘The people in

the community know that whenever they are in need, they

can come knocking on our door and we will be there to help

wherever we can,’ emphasizes Nadia. ‘I’m very proud of the

team of staff members I have. We are like one big family.

‘Our year-end party is usually held in the local park where we

spend time and take care of the children from the community,’

she adds. Additionally, the Spaar on Spares family participates

in an annual Christmas Run hosted for the community

where they often sponsor Christmas hampers to hand out.

Their good work extends to the up-keeping of the local park

because they believe every child deserves a safe and clean

environment to play in.

‘The park is a place I used to play in when I was a little girl and

it fills me with great joy to see the smiles on the little children’s

faces when they can enjoy themselves like I once did,’

shares Nadia.

The driven entrepreneur highlights the importance of giving

and her motto by saying: ‘You spend most of your life giving.

You must become selfless and consider the needs of those

around you, sometimes even before your own.’

Family holiday tradition

Coming from a Portuguese background, Nadia’s favourite

holiday tradition is when the family comes together on

Christmas Eve where they enjoy delicious codfish and all their

traditional sweets.

‘It’s always nice to have my family around the table,’ she expresses.

Christmas Day is usually a peaceful one for

Nadia and her family where they sit back, relax and enjoy all

the leftovers.

‘My most cherished holiday season memory is going back

home to Durban with my parents and siblings for the festive

season and playing in the ocean,’ shares Nadia. She comes

from a big family and Christmas time has always been a very

special time for them because they had a house full of children

and family. To keep the festive spirit alive in her home

Nadia keeps a cinnamon candle burning.

‘Although this time of the year is dedicated to family and giving,

it is also dedicated to work. Being in retail means we work

every single day except the important days like Christmas

Day and New Year’s Day,’ says Nadia.

Her message this Christmas is, ‘Times are tough and it’s

tough for everyone but together we can make it’.

Nadia emphasizes how we should never give up on ourselves

and we should continue fighting forward. ‘Family is

everything. When you lose a loved one, that’s when you

truly feel the importance and the role family plays in your

life. Family is in every part of you, it’s what you’re made of,’

shares Nadia.

Savoury waffles with whipped

ricotta & smoked trout

This easy yet luxurious recipe, served with Spier Cap Classique Brut,

is perfect for a breakfast or brunch treat.

Turn brunch into a celebration by pairing these waffles

with Spier Cap Classique Brut. The wine’s exuberant

bubbles and golden hue complement the crispy waffles,

while its apple and citrus notes enhance the smoked

trout. The Cap Classique’s balanced mouthfeel and good

acidity cut through the richness of the whipped ricotta.

Serves four.

You’ll need: For the waffle mixture- 2 XL eggs, 2 Tbsp

extra virgin olive oil, ½ cup sour cream, ½ cup milk, 1½

cups cake flour, 1½ tsp baking powder, ½ to ¾ cup finely

chopped spring onions (plus extra for serving, optional),

½ cup finely grated hard cheese (Parmesan / Pecorino /

Gruyère), salt and pepper, to taste

For topping - ½ cup sour cream, 230g ricotta cheese or

smooth full cream cottage cheese, 200g cold smoked

trout/salmon ribbons, a small bunch of chives, finely

sliced, for serving

For the creamy mustard vinaigrette - 3 Tbsp extra virgin

olive oil, 3 tsp fresh lemon juice, 3 tsp mayonnaise, 1 tsp

honey, salt and pepper, to taste

To make: Prepare the waffles and whipped cheese.

Whisk together the eggs, oil, sour cream, and milk in a medium

mixing bowl. Add the flour and baking powder and stir until

almost mixed, then add the spring onions and cheese until no

floury bits remain (do not overmix). You’ll have a thick mixture.

Set aside while you prepare the whipped cheese.

To prepare the whipped cheese, mix the sour cream and

cheese in a small blender until smooth and creamy. Set aside.

Prepare the vinaigrette. Put all the ingredients into a medium

jar with a lid, then shake until well blended. Set aside until

ready to serve.

Cook the waffles and assemble. Heat a waffle maker. Spoon the

mixture into the hot machine and cook until golden brown.

Serve warm, topped with a dollop of prepared whipped cheese,

ribbons of trout, and freshly chopped chives. Finish with a

drizzle of the prepared vinaigrette, then serve at once.

Tip: Leftover waffles can be stored in the fridge for up to two

days and refreshed in a toaster. If you want to serve all the

waffles warm at the same time, pre-toast them in advance,

then refresh them in an oven at 180°C for a few minutes.

Indulge

Almond, chocolate & orange cantuccini

Cantuccini are the biscotti of Tuscany. Traditionally served with Vin Santo,

they’re equally delicious dipped into a chilled dessert wine or good espresso.

When you bake these, double up.

Keep a batch for yourself, and the

other wrap up with a bottle of dessert

wine ... a brilliant hostess gift

You’ll need: 2 cups cake flour, 1 cup

granulated sugar, 1 tsp baking

powder, pinch of salt, 2 eggs, 5

pumps NOMU Vanilla Paste, grated

zest of 2 oranges, 100g almonds

(skin on), roasted and coarsely

chopped, 60g NOMU Decadent Hot

Chocolate chunks

To make: Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Sift the flour, sugar, baking powder

and salt in a large bowl and set aside.

Mix the eggs, Vanilla Paste and zest

together. Pour the egg mixture into

the dry ingredients and stir gently

with a wooden spoon. Add the nuts

and NOMU Decadent Hot Chocolate

chunks and stir to combine.

Divide the dough mix in half and roll

each into a log shape, about 30cm

long and 5cm wide. Place the logs

onto a buttered and floured oven

tray, making sure there is space

between each one for spreading.

Bake for 25 minutes until firm and

light golden brown. Remove from the

oven and allow to cool slightly.

Reduce the oven temperature to

90°C. Whilst still warm, thinly slice the

logs into 1cm slices and place on a

greased oven tray. Bake further for

approximately 4 to 5 hours, turning

halfway through until completely

dried out and crisp.

Sweet and savoury meal swaps

to keep every feeling fezzy:

For the sweet lover, here are

snack and treat idea:

- Snack: 3 dates and a Tbsp of peanut

butter (the sugar free, salt free version

will ensure Santa’s elves prioritise your

presents)

- Treat: 150g fat-free yoghurt and add

a mini box Smarties

For the savoury fan, Ashleigh

suggests the following:

- Popcorn with sea-salt (You can add

nutritional yeast over for a cheesy

flavour and extra protein)

- Ham and cucumber roll ups

And for the one who loves

the crunch:

- Snack: Apple sliced with 1 Tbsp.

peanut-butter

- Snack: Roasted chickpeas, please:

Add olive oil, sea salt and spices to

your drained and dried chickpeas

and pop in the air-fryer on 200 for

15 minutes

Ashleigh adds, “Hydration is essential

but water can be boring, so infuse it

with fruits or herbs, sip on herbal teas,

or invest in a cute water bottle. The

more stylish, the more likely you are to

use it - because hydration is in!”

And because it’s time with family, get

the family involved in the kitchen

and make grocery shopping a family

affair! “Let everyone pick out foods

they love. Plus, creating a family dish

that everyone can help make is a

great way to sneak in new foods.

And don’t forget non-food activities

- because walking off that holiday

feast is a team sport.”

So, as you prepare for the festive

season, remember that nutrition

doesn’t have to be stress-inducing.

Embrace these easy hacks, enjoy the

treats, and most importantly, have

fun! After all, the best part about the

holidays is making memories. Okay,

for some it’s making sandwiches. And

for some it’s making reservations.

Embrace the festive feast

(& ditch the guilt!)

I changed my relationship with food and you won’t believe what happened next.

(Spoiler alert: I ate a chocolate and my clothes still fit me)

As the festive season approaches, it’s time to deck the halls, gather around

the table, and indulge in all those delicious holiday treats! But before you

dive headfirst into the buffet of joy (who are we to judge), Virgin Active has

a few tips to sprinkle on your plate making it easier to prioritise nutrition

while keeping your wellness journey merry and bright.

“This season, let’s not treat nutrition like the Grinch,” says Ashleigh Solomon,

Virgin Active’s Dietician Consultant and all round cheery snackerson. “We

all know a chocolate won’t kill you – but your third helping of Aunt Edna’s

fruitcake might if you don’t fish the coins out first!”

So with this in mind, here’s Ashleigh’s list of festive food hacks, calorie

crunchers, and some interesting food swaps to knock cauliflower off its

throne and replace it with cottage cheese.

Nutrition hacks you’ll love as much as peanut butter loves syrup

Carbs are your new best friend

This isn’t just a cliché; it’s a lifestyle! Say hello to couscous with a kiss

kiss — the speedy grain that’s as easy to prepare as your holiday playlist.

Just add hot water, and voilà! You’ve got a high-fibre base ready to be

fancied up with herbs and veggies. It’s like a blank canvas begging for your

culinary creativity.

Chickpeas: crunchy crunch time!

Toss them in the air fryer with some olive oil and spices for a crispy snack

that’s as addictive as holiday marathons on TV. Warning: You might find

yourself air-frying everything in sight, especially if you received an air-fryer

for Christmas and joined the thousands who did coming out of lockdown.

Protein: The real MVP

Cottage cheese is the lazy chef’s delight - not your boyfriend, even if he

is delightful. Cottage cheese is packed with 28g of protein per tub. It’s

perfect for when you want to feel fancy without breaking a sweat - just

grab a spoon, put on a Christmas hat, and go!

Yeastlike it, guys!

Nutritional yeast is a game changer. Sprinkle it on popcorn or pasta for a

cheesy kick that’ll have your taste buds dancing like they just spotted the

dessert table!

Two food groups that will keep you full

Protein + Fibre = Satisfaction (if only the Rolling Stones knew this in 1965).

Make sure every meal includes a protein source and aim for 25g of fibre per day.

Your hunger won’t stand a chance and your waistband will thank you!

Three simple tips for

guilt-free indulgence

1. Don’t arrive hungry - Eat well before the

feast! Skipping meals to “save room” usually

leads to diving headfirst into the dessert table

(we’re looking at you, Uncle Ed, it’s awkies!).

Trust us, nobody wants to see that - okay

they do, but there will be photos and maybe

even a video. Don’t ever say we don’t have

your back.

2. Start with veggies - Kick off your meal with

a veggie starter. Feel good about your choices

while still enjoying the feast! Hummus with

veggie sticks, anyone? (If I had a Rand for

every time I heard that on Christmas Day)

3. Savour your treats - If you’re craving

Grandma’s famous pie, indulge! Enjoy it

without guilt, then move on. It’s about

balance, not deprivation. And if it’s a second

slice you’re after, just make sure no one’s

watching and that they’re filming awkward

Uncle Ed who is headfirst in the dessert table...

Top four tips for managing calorie

balance during the holidays

1. Protein-packed breakfast - Start your day

with a breakfast that keeps you satisfied and

energised. Eggs, Greek yoghurt, or a protein

smoothie.

2. Choose one treat daily - Pick your favourite

treat each day and skip the mindless

munching. Quality over quantity, folks!

3. Add veggies to every meal - Boost your

fibre intake and fill your plate with colourful

veggies. They’re your best friends at the

holiday table (sorry, turkey).

4. Craving something? Have it and move on!

- Don’t ignore cravings. Enjoy a small portion,

then get back to your regular meals. Just not

next to the cheese platter.

Veggie of the month

Leafy veggies generally don’t like the heat,

but one that can handle it is our indigenous

spinach, better known as Marog (Amaranthus

tricolour) or Imbuya. It is an excellent hot,

dry weather substitute for spinach. Marog

has arrow-shaped leaves that are thicker than

spinach leaves and can be picked over a long

period. The young leaves have a mild flavour

and can be eaten raw or cooked like spinach.

They are an excellent source of plant protein

as well as vitamins C and A. Marog grows best

in full sun in well composted soil. The seeds

are very small, and it is easier to sow them

evenly by mixing them with sand or dry soil.

The seeds are usually planted in rows. Seed

germinates within 7 to 14 days and the final

spacing should be 25cm apart. Plants need

regular watering and grow easily. For the best

flavour, harvest the tender tops when they

are about 25cm tall, by cutting them off with

scissors and then leaving the plant to re-grow.

Marog can be intercropped with other veggies.

Indoor plant of the month ... this dwarf

Capsicum Acapulco is irresistible with its

glossy multi-coloured fruit. Pop it into a pot

as a centrepiece for the Christmas feast table.

It is also a super gift. It bears loads of fruit,

which doesn’t have the heat of a chilli pepper,

being slightly sweet, so it is safe to be around

children. To keep on fruiting capsicums, need

at least six hours of sun a day. A good idea

is to enjoy it indoors for a few days and then

move it onto a sunny patio or into the garden.

Plant in rich, well composted soil that drains

well. Don’t let the soil dry out completely but

also avoid overwatering and soggy soil.

Garden tasks

Going away? Before leaving check the irrigation system

for blocked nozzles and make sure that automatic systems

are set correctly. Move plants in pots and hanging baskets

out of the direct sun. • Fertilise flowering plants but if you

are going away, delay until your return. • There is still time

to sow marigolds, alyssum, California poppies, portulaca

and nasturtiums. • Water early in the morning or

late afternoon. • Pests are out in force. Use organic insect

sprays when pests are noticed.

The final stretch

It’s been quite a show. And the countdown has begun for the finale of the

eleventh season of Tropika Island of Treasure: Zanzibar. We chat to contestants

to find out what they suggest you take to an island holiday.

Set in the dreamy paradise of Zanzibar,

this season has served up everything we

love … marvellous scenery, all kinds of

rather extreme challenges … and, what’s

any good reality show without a splash

of star power?

Seven everyday South Africans jumped

into this adventure headfirst, teaming

up with celebs who brought their

A-game to the island. Think Tiktoker

extraordinaire Chad Jones, sports

presenter Nqobile Khwezi, former Miss

SA Ndavi Nokeri, heartthrob model Karl

Kugelmann, actor Hungani Ndlovu, TV

sweetheart Roxy Burger, and the everysmooth

Bobby van Jaarsveld.

In the past 10 weeks, the teams have

faced it all. All kinds of tricky mental

and physical challenges, which often

triggered emotional outbursts which

(to be honest) has kept us glued to

the screen.

And, dishing up the tea is none other

than South Africa’s media darling, Zanele

Potelwa. With each passing episode,

the stakes have climbed higher, and

the challenges have gotten tougher. In

fact, episode 10 hit us with a plot twist

as the consumer contestants battled

each other AND the celebs. (Just when

we thought things couldn’t get any

more intense.)

What’s in it for the winning duo? Only

the biggest prize in TIOT history … a

shared R1 million and a brand-new

Suzuki Jimny for both members. So,

needless to say, we’re on the edge of

our seats!

Don’t miss the action-packed final

episodes, airing every Saturday at 7.30pm

on SABC 3, with repeats on SABC 1 at 9pm

and streaming on SABC+. The season

finale officially airing December 14.

So, clear your Saturday night and tune in

to the final episodes of Tropika Island of

Treasure. The countdown is on … who’s

going to claim that treasure? Tune in

and find out!

Burger’s

number one

travel essential is

a mini speaker.

go wrong with

amazing music

by the beach

… it’s an instant

vibe booster.

Gloria Ngcobo, beacon of

health and eco warrior is all

about keeping healthy. “My

electrolyte tablets. Hydration is

keep me feeling my best from

the inside out.”

For model and beauty pageant

titleholder, Ndavi Nokeri it’s a good

book. Which she deems essential to

unwind and reflect. Right now, she’s

reading Do the New You by Steven

Furtick. Perfect for some personal growth

and getting inspired for what’s next.

Diagnostic radiographer

Dimakatso Calisa always

packs her Nike Swoosh

high-support sports bra.

It’s comfortable, versatile,

and breathable … perfect

for the island climate and

staying active without

compromising style.

Media influencer and

dancer Chad Jones is

taking his tripod. It’s

lightweight, easy to pack,

and makes filming his

dance videos a breeze

wherever he goes.

Naidoo

never goes

anywhere

without a good

fragrance. His

current fave is

Invictus by Paco

Rabanne. It’s

fresh, addictive,

and perfect for

island vibes!

Actor, dancer and DJ Hungani

Ndlovu isn’t going anywhere without

his portable, rechargeable hand fan

with a mister. It’s a lifesaver in the heat,

keeping him cool and refreshed no

matter where they go.

Beauty and lifestyle content creator

Stacy Gossayn will take a floating

picnic set, because she just loves

being in the water. And with a floating

tray, she can enjoy lunch right in the

shallows. Bliss!
