Energy Transition in Latin America and the Caribbean
INSTITUTE OF THE AMERICAS
national and foreign private investment in clean energy
projects, and associated infrastructure and services.
Policymakers must also review current barriers including
access to credit, as well as subsidy and incentive structures.
4. Foster sustainable public-private partnerships
The private sector will be critical to the success of Latin
America and the Caribbean’s energy transition. Governments
must create opportunities for collaboration with the private
sector along the energy value chain. This means facilitating
public-private partnerships on clean power projects and
associated infrastructure, as well as developing opportunities
for clean energy research, and creating space for innovation.
